Louie had planned to "trap" Marcus, and the reason Marcus didn't buy InfinityGroup's incentive earlier was the price. If Marcus went with Bella's quote, he wouldn't benefit at all. Glacier Refrigeration Company wasn't his own; he was just a hired manager. If there was an opportunity to profit, he would take it.
Louie precisely exploited this point. The incentive he recommended was a product already on the brink of being phased out, with a true price of only four hundred thousand. Additionally, as it would be discontinued, this incentive would become a clearance item, further reducing its price.
Marcus hesitated, "Will there be any issues?"
"Of course not, InfinityGroup's products are top-notch," Louie assured, placing his right hand on Marcus's shoulder and whispering, "However, you should make some preparations, like stocking up on spare parts. Our company currently offers the lowest prices for spare parts. If you purchase some, you won't have to worry about not being able to make repairs if problems arise. Besides, this incentive is not a perishable item. If you buy this one, along with spare parts, it should last you for ten to fifteen years. Who knows what it will be like by then."
"Buying spare parts? I'm afraid it will attract criticism. Although I'm in charge of purchasing equipment, it's not good if the investors find out," Marcus expressed his concern.
"Is that so?" Louie pretended to look troubled, then turned to Bella. Seeing that Bella was already sitting beside him, he turned back with a determined tone, "Marcus, how about this—I'll sell it to you for sixty-eight thousand, including spare parts, and I'll take this amount out for you." Louie extended five fingers, saying, "This should satisfy you. I believe no one will say you made a loss."
"Really?" Marcus asked uncertainly.
"Absolutely," Louie said confidently, "If you feel satisfied, we can sign the contract right now. I'm afraid I'll regret it if I wait until later. I've never sold something so cheap before."
Louie's words made Marcus's head feel hot. He quickly calculated and blinked, agreeing to the deal. However, he was in a dilemma, "Where can we sign the contract here?" He was afraid that if he waited until tomorrow, Louie might regret it, and he was also a bit anxious.
"Oh, don't worry about that. Give me ten minutes, and I'll prepare the contract for you right away," Louie finished the remaining half glass of foreign liquor, called Bella, and the two left the private room.
"Bella, I'm going to get the contract now. You keep Marcus company and drink with him. I'll be back in about ten minutes. During this time, take care of yourself, and don't let anyone take advantage of you. I won't take responsibility then," Louie smirked.
"The contract, is it finalized?" Bella couldn't believe it; this was too fast.
"Yes, I'm selling him the hd4215 incentive and common spare parts for sixty-eight thousand. I promised him a rebate of five thousand."
"Oh my God." Bella exclaimed, but before she could say anything more, Louie covered her cherry lips with his hand. Louie's mouth was almost touching Bella's face as he whispered, "Silly girl, if that guy finds out, how can we make money? Your task now is to go back and drink with him. I'll be back with the contract soon."
Smelling the breath coming out of Louie's mouth, Bella felt her heart racing rapidly, a hint of warmth rushing to her face. Fortunately, she had drunk some foreign liquor, so her face looked rosy, covering up the blush caused by her accelerated heartbeat. She nodded awkwardly, suddenly wondering where the contract came from.
Just as Bella was puzzled, Louie had already disappeared around the corner of the corridor.
In less than ten minutes, Louie indeed returned with the contract. In the meantime, Bella had become somewhat flushed from drinking, and Marcus was dancing with a girl, his unsteady right hand sneaking under her short skirt.
Louie returned to his seat, took out a contract, and said, "Marcus, the contract is here."
"Incredible, incredible," Marcus let go of the girl he was dancing with, turned around hastily, and, looking at the contract, indeed saw a deal for the incentive project. He kept muttering about how incredible it was. Not only Marcus, but even Bella found this situation unbelievable. How could everything be settled so quickly?
Louie lightly patted the girl's shoulder, signaling her to wait outside. He sat next to Marcus, took out a stack of bills, threw it in front of Marcus, and said, "This is twenty thousand in cash. The remaining thirty thousand in cash will be given to you after your company pays the full amount. Now, you can take a look at the contract yourself. I don't want you to sign it in a daze." Louie picked up the glass of red wine on the table and took a small sip.
Holding the money, Marcus didn't bother looking at the contract. He quickly signed it. Meanwhile, Bella's pretty face turned even redder as she kept looking at Louie. After all, Louie signed the deal; it seemed to have little to do with her. Unexpectedly, Louie sneered and said, "Bella, if you don't sign, how can I sign on the manager's side?" Upon hearing this, Bella quickly signed the contract.
The contract was considered signed, and Marcus was in high spirits. Holding twenty thousand in cash out of nowhere, his tone became more assertive. He slapped the table and exclaimed, "Manager Louie, all the expenses tonight are on me. You're quite generous. We should collaborate again in the future."
"Of course, we'll continue to cooperate in the future," Louie replied, but in his heart, he thought, "Doing business with me, get ready to be fleeced."
Bella, overwhelmed with joy, unconsciously drank too much. Leaning against Louie, she almost rested her head on his shoulder and asked softly, "Manager, can you tell me how you got that contract?"
A wave of alcohol hit Louie's nostrils, and he tilted his head, revealing Bella's slightly blurred eyes. Louie chuckled and whispered, "I prepared three different contracts this afternoon, just didn't expect things to go so smoothly. The other two contracts can be thrown into the trash."
"What about the money?" Bella pressed on.
"Oh, that was prepared in advance too," Louie laughed, patting Bella's shoulder, "Little one, you still have a lot to learn."
Surprisingly, for the first time, Bella didn't confront him. Downing the remaining red wine in her glass, she laid her head on Louie's shoulder, closed her eyes slightly, and murmured, "Manager, what kind of person are you? Why can't I seem to understand you?"
