Chapter 46 Learning The Art?

The girl saw Carl let go of her hand, winked proudly and said sympathetically, "I see you're not a good person, and you're still a poor man. I’m in a good mood today, so, I'll accept you as my lackey. After that you'll hang out with me, and I'll make sure you have a good life. How about it?"

Hearing such words, Carl found it hateful.

Carl was helpless, after taking a look at her, he was about to leave. The girl immediately threw the money in her hand into Carl's hand, and then ran away.

Carl still didn't realize what was going on. A bald man rushed over, grabbed Carl's collar, and cursed angrily, "Damn it, you dare to steal my wallet. Are you looking for death?"

Carl was stunned and explained, "Bro, you misunderstood. I didn't steal this wallet. It's her."

The bald man gazed at the girl, and then looked at Carl again, "You are lying. How could that girl be a thief. Do you think I'm an idiot? You had to have ordered her to do it, didn't you?"

Carl was very helpless.

The girl cried out, pointing at Carl, "Daddy! Run away. You stole his money, if the police uncle finds out, you'll go to jail."

Carl was speechless.

"It really is you." The bald man punched Carl in the face with his fist.

Carl was tightened, dodged the bald man's fist, then kicked at the bald man. The man fell to the ground and howled, "You brat dare to kick me. I'll kill you."

The bald man's face was so livid with pain that he tried to get up from the ground several times. But he failed and fell back to the ground in pain.

Seeing that he had made a big mistake, Carl turned and ran towards the street outside the alley. He was worried that the bald man would catch up to him, and after running to the bus platform, he saw the shuttle bus door open and got in.

Reaching the last seat of the shuttle, he sat down and breathed a sigh of relief. What a bad luck! He was not sure what her origin was. Once he saw her, he had a bad luck.

But luckily, he had finally gotten rid of her.

And at this time, his smile froze. Next to the seat, that girl also got on the shuttle bus at some point, and was staring at him with her starry eyes.

He shivered, "Why are you following me? I'm just a poor man."

The girl looked at Carl seriously and nodded, "Good, you’re clever. In such a critical situation, you know how to escape on a shuttle bus. You’re really a talent."

"Now, you've passed my test." The girl said, "I officially announce that from now on, I accept you as my disciple. I am the master of stealing. I have done it for a year, and now, you are the first generation disciple."

Bullshit! Carl stood up, ready to get off, but the girl had a wry smile on her face, "As long as you nod, I'll give you back your ID card. See, the highway is next to the gutter. If you don't agree, I'll throw it down."

Carl looked towards the girl's hand, and sure enough, he saw that she was holding his ID card, and had reached out the window.

"Give it back to me." Carl’s face fell.

"Promise my terms first." The girl looked at Carl proudly.

Carl was a little doubtful that this little girl was really only twelve or thirteen years old. She was even smarter than a twenty-three year old adult.

The girl saw Carl hesitate and smugly smiled, showing two little buckteeth, "I'll count to three. If you don't agree to my conditions, I'll throw your ID card down."

Carl said with a livid face, "I agree now. You give me back my ID card." Now even housing required ID cards. If he didn't have an ID card, even if he had any amount of money, it would be useless and he could only sleep on the street.

"You’re not sincere at all, forget it. You go to the gutter yourself to find your ID card!"

"And how is that sincere?"

The girl said, "You call me a teacher."

Carl was helpless, "Okay, teacher, please give me back my ID card. I’m sincere enough!"

The girl nodded, looking smug, "Well, let's pinky swear, and if you go back on your word, you're a turtle, a puppy, can't find a fiancée for the rest of your life, choke to death on water, choke to death on food, and get hit by a car when you walk."

Holy shit. That was too vicious! Carl was horrified.

After getting off the shuttle, the girl swaggered in front, "Now that you're my apprentice, I'll take you somewhere."

Carl followed behind, "What place? You're not asking me to steal your money, are you? I've made a deal, I'll agree to anything, but I'll never agree to it. We adults have principles in everything we do."

The girl glared at Carl, "Go to my house."

Passing through the traffic light, the girl led him towards a small alley.

"What's your name?" Carl said.

"Call me teacher." Amabel turned back and looked at Carl unhappily.

Carl smiled and spoke, "Teacher, now that I'm still not sure what your name is. Can you be merciful and tell me?"

"Alright ." The little girl said, "I'm called Amabel."

During talking, they walked inside the residential area. It looked very dilapidated, probably built in 1990s. The walls of the residential area, at a glance, were densely packed with small advertisements.

Just walked to the door of the residential area, an old man was sitting in the shade of a tre, squinted, laughed towards Amabel said, "Amabel, you're back."

Amabel smile ran over, walked up to the old man, took the tea cup on the stone table, fiercely drank a mouthful of tea, and then wiped the tea leaves on her mouth, "James, your tea is still the same delicious as before."

James panicked and took the teacup over and held it in his arms, "You little girl, you've come to steal my tea again. Children are not allowed to drink tea, otherwise you don't grow taller."

Amabel looked at James and then ran towards the upstairs.

Carl was just about to follow when James held him back, "Young man, you're here to adopt Amabel, aren't you! She's got a temper. What a year! There are quite a few people who want to adopt Amabel, but this little girl is weird and elfish. She just didn't want to go with people, and she even teased them a bit. The last couple that came here are still in the emergency center."

"Adopt?" Carl was curious.

The old man said, "When Amabel was one year old, her father died in an accident, and she and her mother lived together in this residential area. But last year her mother had leukemia, and as a result, she had no money for medical treatment and passed away, and now she's orphan."

What he didn't expect was that Amabel would have such a pitiful background.

The old man continued, "The people in the community wanted to send Amabel to the orphanage because they felt sorry for her, but she didn't want to go, so the community leaders had no choice. Later on, some families without children knew about this and saw that Amabel was smart and cute and wanted to adopt her. As a result, when Amabel arrived at their home, she stirred up stuff with their family. So they had no choice but to send her back."

Carl didn't say anything and walked towards the upstairs. Amabel was looking back at Carl, "Carl, as your teacher, I want to severely criticize you and warn you. Don't listen to that old man's nonsense. He's all lying to you, understand?"

Carl looked at her cute face and nodded, "Don't worry, I'll only listen to you."

"Right!" Amabel nodded, looking sophisticated and mature, "You can be taught."

When he reached the third floor, Amabel removed the key from her neck, then moved a broken stool and climbed onto the stool, and opened the door.

Carl briefly took a glance at the room. Although this room was shabby, it was quite neat and tidy. The hall was filled with the kind of small stool outside the door, even in front of the refrigerator.

Thinking of Amabel opening the door, he knew what happened. She was only 12 or 13 years old, and short. She couldn’t reach the refrigerator, and could only use a stool.

A twelve or thirteen year old child had been living here alone for a year. He wasn't sure how she did it.

Amabel rolled up her sleeves, stood on the stool, opened the refrigerator, took out a pile of cold drinks from inside, and threw them onto the hall table.

Seeing Carl staring at the fridge, "That's my snack library. Don't eat them, otherwise, I'll drive you away, understand?"

Carl looked at Amabelya's arm, only to see Amabelya's arm bruised, "What's with the injury on your hand?"
