Please Do Not Do This to Me

Please Do Not Do This to Me
"Lumina! The old, pregnant females and the pups first." Deimos takes my attention looking into my eyes while giving back a wailing Alexandra to her mother.

I nod quickly and head towards the females I trained. "Gather all the pups, pregnant females, and the old to the shelter. Carry as many as you can. Remember your training! This is what you trained for!" I command them whilst they quickly nod and run towards the group of old males and females shivering in fear.

"What is their position?" Deimos questions Giovanni.

"The first alarm means they are unidentifiable not known to our pack. They have gathered outside the gates. They will begin infiltrating our grounds soon." Giovanni replies.

"How much time do we have?" Deimos asks again.

"20 minutes." Giovanni says.

"We protect the weak first. Make sure every single wolf is in the shelter." Deimos orders as Giovanni nods eyes calm focusing on his words.

"Then what?" Giovanni asks.

Deimos lips tilt up in an evil smirk, "We fight."

For the first time in my life, I felt the rush of time. We needed it to calm down and go slow but it ran like the wildfire killing every last inch of peace with it. I counted the number of pups as they huddled in the arms of their mothers.

The old were all sitting on the ground with blankets around their shoulders. I could smell the waves of fear emanating from them. This was the first outbreak of war they have faced. No one dared to enter these lands when Giovanni's parents were alive.

"Clarie!" I call out to one of the females I trained.

"Yes, Luna Lumina." She bows.

"You are in charge of protecting them. You will make sure the pups do not make a single sound. Do not open this door at any cost. You will protect these wolves with your life. Do you understand me?" I ask her.

"Yes, Luna Lumina!" She says loudly adhering to my command. With one last look at the wolves present, I head outside.

"Where are you going, Luna? I thought you will be staying here with us?" Clarie asks me as I turn around to look at her.

"I cannot let my male have all the fun now, can I?" My answer disguised as a question. I wait until Clarie reels the door shut to head up the stairs and shut the main door locking it.

I see Deimos finishing up a quick fight plan to the warriors as I look at my watch. 5 minutes. I sigh in annoyance. So much for a relaxing day. Who are these wolves? There's a high chance they are rogues trying to acquire land.

"Lumina." My male calls out to me. Perhaps he sensed the anxiety growing within me. I look towards him. He opens his arms for me and I walk into his warmth as his heartbeat calms me.

"Where will you be fighting?" He asks me.

"By your side." I smile a sad smile. We look towards Giovanni who stands there calmly, hands behind his back head held high. The male Deimos trained has grown from a juvenile to a strong male. He is ready.

The second alarm finally rings. They are on pack grounds. The warriors stand behind Deimos and I whilst Giovanni stands in front of us waiting patiently for their arrival. He stands tall not allowing the worried glances or whispers of his warriors to faze him. He is preparing to learn of his prey.

The enemies come flooding in, eyes crazed with hunger. They are plenty running towards us more in number than our warriors. I watch as these wolves show no emotion like they are dead bodies walking without souls.

The wolves rush in and stop a few meters from us, snarling and growling. I sense no fear, no rage. I sense nothing.

"Why are you on my land?" Giovanni's voice booms.

"Why else? To take it." One of the rogues' snarls whilst the others snicker behind him.

"I don't talk to disgusting runts like you. I was talking to your leader who hides behind." Giovanni responds calmly as the wolf roars with the anger of being talked down to but a low growl from another makes him shut his mouth.

Their leader emerges from the shadows, his eyes a mix of yellow and black. The color of rogues. He walks with confidence but the smell radiating from him makes me want to vomit. The smell of something rotten.

"Ah, the young Alpha, Giovanni. The one who rose, to the death of his parents." He speaks with a smirk.

"Who are you? And why are you on my land?" Giovanni pays no heed to the rogue's words and questions again. If it were me I would be already losing my patience.

"My identity does not matter. As to why I am here well, nothing much just to acquire what you possess. No need for formalities if you would just give it to me willingly and surrender." The rogue says.

Our warriors begin to laugh and so do I. That was funny! I didn't know rogues make good jokes. The rogue stares at us frowning and snarls in anger stopping us.

"Oh, you were serious? We apologize." I say catching his attention. His eyes land on my flesh and slithers up and down like a snake. It doesn't faze me as this happened to me all the time before.

"And who might this beauty be?" He asks licking his lips. I smirk. His blood will be in my throat before the sun rises.

Tilting my head from side to side cracking my neck I smile. "Your worst nightmare." I whisper.

Deimos looks at me and I nod. He crosses his fingers behind his back as a sign for the warriors to get ready and they shuffle around preparing themselves. "It's your call, Gio." Deimos whispers.

Giovanni doesn't say anything and stares at the rogues scanning each and every one. "Kill them."

"Attacco!" He screams and that's all it takes for us to run full speed towards the enemy.

They are taken by surprise as we bombard them. Deimos jumps into the air clothes ripping thrown about in shreds, his wolf taking the lead. He pounces on one of the oncoming rogues, mouth around his head teeth sinking into flesh, ripping the head off the body.

A rogue sprints towards me his legs carrying the weight of his wrath. Grabbing his neck, I climb onto his shoulder legs wrapped around the throat cutting off airflow, my hands over the sides of his head twisting it in one fluid move killing him. His wide-open lifeless eyes look into the dark sky falling onto the ground.

"Next." I whisper darting onto the others. My eyes search for Giovanni mid-fight. I see him pound his fist into the rogue's face with ease. He is doing well. A rogue sneaks closer behind him slowly with claws out ready to strike. I cannot reach him in time.

Reaching into my pocket I grab one of the knives. Holding it tightly in my hand I aim and throw it at my target. It flies through the group of fighting wolves and strikes deep into the right eyeball of the rogue behind Giovanni. His mouth opens wide as he falls onto his knees death taking him.

A sudden blow to the back of my head takes me by surprise. Blood seeps down my forehead leaking down my eyes and cheeks. I turn around slowly and find a female with tattoos covering every inch of her skin. A scar cuts through her left eye as she watches me gauging my next move. A baseball bat in her hand she prepares to strike again.

"You shouldn't have done that." I whisper wiping the blood dripping into my eyes painting my sclera.

She raises the bat to hit and I quickly grab it holding it tightly and I twist it backward dislocating the hand that holds the bat. She screams in agony, her hand hanging like a loose cloth of which she has no control of. She looks at me and finally, I see a hint of fear. Good, I live off it.

She snarls her eyes turning black with a mixture of pain and anger. I shake my head as a warning which she pays no heed to as she bolts towards me. I allow her one blow to my face to satisfy her before my claws dig into her stomach removing her intestines in one pull. She chokes on her blood. Now she can die happy knowing that she at least got to hit me once.

The loud booming growl of my male calls out to me. He needs help, my eyes scan through the wolves fighting. We are winning, the warriors have almost taken them all out. Where is their leader? I cannot find him.

I catch sight of Deimos and quickly run to his side. Many rogues are upon him tearing into his flesh. They can sense he is the strongest, they wish to take him down first. His wolf fights with full energy and strength. He is the strongest for a reason. My feet pounds upon the ground as I barrel into one of the rogues removing him off the fur of my male.

I quickly throw him to the ground, pounding my feet into his face squashing his skull. The warriors come to our aid. There are only around ten rogues left. We are going to win this! I become distracted that I fail to notice their leader behind me.

Sudden pain takes over my chest as if a knife is stabbed deep into it. As if someone is clutching my beating heart. I cannot breathe. I struggle but the feeling of blood pouring out my chest makes me unable to do anything. I fall to my knees mouth wide open tears streaming down my face. The sickening pain overtaking my senses. Placing my palm over my chest I seek my blood.

But there's nothing. I am not bleeding. Then what is happe- No! No! Goddess, please! No! I slowly turn to look behind me. My eyes widen and a cry of pain leaves my lips as I find the leader pushing a silver knife deep into my male's chest. Deimos's fingers are wrapped around his wrist trying to retract it but the rogue pushes it in deeper and Deimos chokes. His spilling blood dripping down his body staining the ground.

"T-The m-moon.... shall not w-welcome you." Deimos says to the rogue coughing up blood. The rogue frowns not understanding his words as Giovanni's sword strikes deep into his neck slicing down his flesh to his chest splitting him in half.

Deimos drops to the ground grunting with pain and I scream crawling towards him. "D-Deimos!" I pick his head up gently placing him on my lap. Tearing a piece of my dress I place it on his gaping wound keeping pressure. Uncontrollable tears stream down my face as I scan his body.

My heart is tearing.

His trembling hand reaches up to my face wiping my tears, "D-Don't cry. I-It p-pains me." He struggles to say as I sob louder.

"You protected me." I look down at him.

"A-Always." He whispers.

"Hold on, okay. The healer will come soon, she will help you. So please stay awake." I tell him mumbling what I can my breaths short.

"L-Lumina. I-I am s-sorry for e-everything I-I have ever done to y-you." He says coughing up more blood. His eyes blood red, lips blue and pale. He is losing lots of blood the silver harming him from within.

"Stop. Don't say anything. Just stay awake for me." I say wiping away his sweat increasing the pressure over his wound. His eyes begin to droop. He tries hard to stay awake. I shake him. "H-Hey look at me. Deimos, please. Don't do this. Look at me. Look at me!" I scream as loud as I can to keep him awake.

I grab his hand as his hooded eyes find mine for one last glance. His palm is cold as winter snow. I clutch it tighter sharing my warmth. His eyes close further and I sob. "Just a little more, please. Please do not do this to me. Please." I beg him tears falling onto his face.

The tightness of his clutch eases and his hand falls out of my grasp landing onto the ground. Eyes closed. Chest still. A moment of silence.

The sound of my bleeding wail pierces through the night. I clutch my dying male to my chest rocking us back and forth as my soul dies from within enveloped by cold eerie darkness.
