Lucian's POV

In my many battles I had fought in the past, this one was probably one of my most emotionally charged ones. Gone was the game where I murdered my own father with my two hands; it wasn't really much of a fight because I didn't give him much time to react. But that, of course, was probably the most emotional kill I had ever made.

Many times I had fought and killed in battle, I was never really emotionally attached and only wanted to achieve a single goal. But fighting Alpha Derrick right now, I wanted to make him suffer before eventually killing him.

"You know, one thing the both of us have in common when it comes to Elena: we have both had her screaming for hours," Alpha Derrick said.

I could feel the heat in my eyes and the rapid beating of my heart. When his words sank in, all I wanted to do was reach out for his brain and crush it.

I attacked brutally as I tightened my fist and threw a punch at him. The punch came at him, but he deflected it with his left hand and swung his own with his right. But I was already prepared for this, and therefore I dodged to one side as I launched a roundhouse kick in his direction. He backed away slowly and eventually jumped back, creating some distance between us.

"I don't know how a soft guy like you could ever contain a woman like Elena. She's so feisty. But that's a part of her that turns me on," Alpha Derrick said with a twisted look on his face.

"Elena is never going to be yours, not in this life or the next. After today, every single member of your sham pack is going to die, and I am going to kill you with my own hands. I don't know how a dead man is going to get his hands on my woman, but I don't have the time to figure it out. The next time you make such a taunt about Elena, I am going to rip a limb off," I said, walking towards Alpha Derrick.

"You know, the winner of this two-sided war is dependent simply on the both of us. Whichever one of us emerges from this fight is going to walk out into that crowd of regular werewolves and decimate the enemy's forces. If you win, then my pack will suffer for it. But if I win, then I'm going to make sure to kill each and every one of the members of your pack. But if the two of us were to fight somehow and end up in a draw, my pack will most likely win because we have the numbers. Maybe I can just drag this out a little and watch your own pack crumble," Alpha Derrick said, walking toward me as well.

"You may not know this, Derrick, but the winner of this fight isn't simply dependent on numbers. My men have more heart and skill than yours. Your men are just a motley assemblage of rogues and criminals. They don't have any training when it comes to massive battles and don't even have any idea how to fight in teams. Trust me when I say that if the two of us were to end in a draw, the men who will walk in here to kill an alpha will be my men walking in to kill you. But don't worry, they won't have to do it because I'm going to do it myself. I am going to make sure I multiply whatever torment you made Elena go through fall on you times ten," I said calmly.

After which, Alpha Derrick and I launched at each other with viciousness to our attacks. I slashed with my claws in every possible direction, hoping to land somewhere fatal on him. At this point, I was beginning to lose rationality and not fight as calculated as I was fighting before. Just the thought of this rogue getting his hands all over Elena made me sick to the stomach.

I was greatly overjoyed when I heard that Elena had briefly defended herself and fought him off. I would probably not be able to bear the thought of even imagining the sight of Alpha Derrick touching Elena.

Lashing out at Alpha Derrick now, I slowly began to remember a special night I had with Elena. We began discussing not too long after we had finished making love. Just as always, Elena was as vivacious as ever, and her voluptuous form allowed me to hold on to a variety of things when I was lost in a frenzy.

"No matter how many times we do it, I just can't get enough of you," I had said sincerely to her.

"Oh really? Would you consider yourself a jealous man, Lucian?" Elena had asked, looking right into my eyes for a certain answer.

I did not know why she had popped up such a question, and I wondered if it was leading to some sort of trap. I wanted to ignore the question or dismiss it, but I was feeling so good I couldn't ignore a question from her. "Well, Elena, I don't think I'd consider myself a jealous man. But I do know that whatever I claim as mine should not be touched by anyone else. But I will not envy anyone else if they have done things to make them accomplish things they deserve," I had said honestly.

"Okay, is that your answer? Then how about you tell me this: What would you do if someone in the future, another man, had his way with me?" she asked and raked her finger across my chest.

I did not know why she had asked me such a question, but I did have an answer. "Well, I can't stand the idea of that ever happening, but it depends on whether or not you willingly did it or not. If it was your full intention, heartbroken as I'd be, I would leave it be. But if it was done against your wish, then trust me, I am going to make sure to rip off each and every limb of that man, especially the one he used in torturing you," I had said right off the bat.

"Come on, do you really think I'm ever going to let any other man touch me except for you? You should have known from the start that if any man is ever to have their way with me, it will be against my will. And thanks for your answer, I needed that assurance. And between the two of us, make sure you get the bastard that does it and make sure he feels the pain for ever doing something like that to me," Elena said and curled up on my arm.

I felt such close intimacy to her that night; I was willing to do anything. Although I did not ever wish something like that happened, I knew that if it were to happen, I would make sure to give whoever did it a run for his money. At this moment, I was glad that Alpha Derrick had not had his way with her, but he nearly got her, and that was more than enough for me to do all the things I had envisioned in the past.

The emotion welled up more and more in me, and each punch was heavier than the last. Soon after, Alpha Derrick began to get overwhelmed, and I made sure to push him to his limit. Eventually, after cornering him into some tight work, I landed a heavy point on his face that led him to smash through a nearby wall and into the ground.

"I didn't think clashing with you would be all this hard. After all, Elena could take you; I should be able to take you much easier. But I know Elena was strong because each and every time I underestimated her strength, she proved me wrong. Just when I thought Elena was weak and fragile, she defeated the winner in open battle. Just when I thought that Elena was probably on average werewolf level, she went and landed a hit on the legendary Artemis. And when I thought that that was the limit to her strength, she defended against an Alpha, making sure he didn't get through her. Elena keeps on blowing my mind over and over again. And I guess in a way, she's even stronger than I am," I said.

"You really think Elena managed to fend me off because of her strength? You know, I really got to like Elena in more ways than you can know. And that is why I did not want to use a drug on her in such a way that she would be overly violated. But I guess a drug would have been much better than watching her kick and scream. I guess the reason I didn't use that was because when I wanted to do it, I wanted her to look into my eyes when I was doing it. If I had used a drug, that probably wouldn't have been possible. You know, if I were to use every ounce of my alpha strength against Elena, there was a good chance I would have broken off her limbs and even killed her in the process. As I said earlier, I like Elena in more ways than you can know. But if you are going to keep on saying that I could not overpower a pregnant woman, keep on saying that. You should be happy you didn't come to meet a broken bride. Because I would have probably broken Elena in the process of getting her to love me. But I guess she's broken now in another way. There's a low chance she's going to make it after what has been done to her, and even if she does, that child is definitely going to die. If you kill me here today, it will be my personal payback to watch you from hell as you weep each and every day for the loss of your bride and your child. It is said that physical pains pale in comparison to emotional pains," Alpha Derrick said with a smile on his face.
