Third Person POV
The occurrence of the past few seconds surprised everyone. One minute, Alpha Derek was about to kill Edwina, and the next, he was flung into a nearby wall. Everyone's attention turned to the person who threw the punch, and they were all aghast when they saw the man responsible.
Lana happened to recognize the man, and as soon as she did, she began to groan softly as she moaned the words, "Lord Noah."
The man who had just punched Alpha Derek was none other than Lord Noah. He was Lucian's beta and definitely one of the strongest men in the pack.
"Lana, it seems quite a bit of damage has been done to you," Lord Noah said. "LUCAS!" he shouted, calling from behind him.
Out of nowhere, Lucas jumped from the multitude of dust. Lucas was swift with his movement, and in the blink of an eye, he gathered Lana in his arms and stepped back.
Before any of Alpha Derek's men could do anything, Lana was safely in Lucas's hands.
"Lucas, I want you to take Lana to the nearest medical facility you can find. If she's losing too much blood for that, find any apothecary or doctor around that can administer first aid. Do whatever you can to prevent her from dying. Do you understand me?" Lord Noah asked.
"Yes, sir," Lucas answered as he turned around and ran.
While running, he held Lana close to himself, even though the blood that was flowing from her body was quickly soaking him. "Lana, you're going to be just fine, you hear me? Nothing is going to kill you, and soon you'll be reunited with everyone, including Elena and her child. You guys have to stay strong and hold on to life," Lucas said, desperately trying to comfort Lana.
The next instant, the entirety of Alpha Derek's pack became noisy because a bloody battle had broken out. Different officers, be it ranked commanders and foot soldiers, were seen everywhere clashing with the rogues.
"You old bastard! What do you think you just did to my alpha?" the leader of the guards said as he rushed at Lord Noah carelessly.
With a swift swipe of his claws, Lord Noah took the life of the leader of the guards without any hesitation.
At this moment, Edwina had suddenly disappeared, and everyone had lost track of her.
Everyone, finally witnessing just how strong Lord Noah was, began to cower in fear of his strength. But then, from the dust cloud that had been created when Alpha Derek had smashed into the nearby wall, Alpha Derek emerged, cracking his neck.
"You must have been quite a terror in your youth. You must be a man of at least 60, and yet you hold such wild and untamed strength. It's been a long time since I've faced an opponent such as yourself. This should be fun," Alpha Derek said with a twisted smile.
Lord Noah suddenly grew serious because the battle ahead would be tough. This was an alpha standing before him and was not meant to be underestimated. The second he underestimated Alpha Derek would be the second of his death.
Alpha Derek began to walk toward Elena. Clearly, even though Elena appeared to be dying, he had no intention of handing her over to anybody. But before he could get there, a shadowy figure suddenly appeared beside Elena.
This figure was particularly dressed for the occasion. He had on him a robe that showed royalty as well as strength. And tied across his neck was a cape that made him look rather heroic.
He took Elena in his arms, and the sadness in them was clear. For a second, this tough man, who seemed as though he did not have tears in his body, actually began to cry. One teardrop landed on Elena's cheek, but it was swiftly wiped away by him. After wiping the teardrop away, he carried Elena, and with a swift gust of wind, he was gone.
Everything happened so fast that the people around could hardly even keep track of it. Not even Alpha Derek was able to see what had just happened.
Observing that Elena was gone, Alpha Derek suddenly became even more enraged than before. His eyes grew blood red, showing just how much of an alpha he was. And then, in a loud voice, he shouted the words, "Come here now!"
The next second, two men suddenly appeared beside him. They had not simply appeared as though through magic, but their movements were so fast it was hard to keep track of them.
"Raphael, Muriel. I will go after who took Elena now, and I want you to kill this old man here. As soon as you have done that, come to where I am, and with your help, I will put whoever that bastard is to rest," Alpha Derek said, trying to be as composed as possible.
"As you wish, my lord," Raphael and Muriel said as their eyes turned sharply at Lord Noah.
These two were not alphas, but their strength was considerable. Obviously twins, it seemed as though they both moved at the same time. The aura they gave off rivaled that of Lord Noah. And that was just the aura of a single one. If they were to combine their strength, Lord Noah would be dead in no time.
"I will not let you go after my alpha. Neither of you are getting past me, and each and every one of you will die here today," Lord Noah said fearlessly as he removed the upper part of his garments.
His body was firm from years of fighting and training. He had earned himself several scars on the battlefield, and today he was going to add to them.
Lord Noah suddenly began to tighten his body, and his aura grew. Claws protruded from his fingers, and his eyes became a bright color of yellow. Hair began to grow from his body, and he immediately became a terrifying beast.
He was not the only one capable of this transformation, and in the next instance, not only was Alpha Derek in a similar form, but Muriel and Raphael looked the same way. But there was a distinguishing difference between all of them because Alpha Derek had red eyes. The red eyes were a symbol of strength and royalty as the Alpha.
About to make his move, the caped figure from before suddenly dived at Alpha Derek, making him pass through the wall he had put a hole in before.
The cape fluttered in the air, making the sight quite grand. But then he removed the black cape, tossing it aside, revealing a pair of bright red eyes. He was an alpha just like Alpha Derek.
It was none other than Alpha Lucian.
"Noah, I don't know if you can handle those two, but bear with me. This one here is mine. No one is going to kill this bastard except me. And for everything you made Elena go through, I will make you go through it as badly as possible," Lucian said, tightening his fist.
"You need not worry about me, my lord. I have come out from situations with way less odds. I will murder these two and join the other men. I swear on my honor," Lord Noah said.
"Well, if that's the case, then I leave them in your care," Alpha Lucian said and suddenly dived at Alpha Derek.
All of a sudden, the fight outside did not matter anymore. There were commanders of elite scale battling each other, and the fight outside was bloody. Every second, a man dropped or at least lost body parts he would never get again.
When Alpha Lucian and Alpha Derek were in a secluded room, Alpha Derek slowly got up to reveal his large pair of bright red eyes. "Well, I guess you didn't get your name for nothing. You are quite strong. But I will show you that I abide by unconventional rules, and growing up like a prince didn't do you much good. The techniques you were taught by your fancy masters when growing up could only be applied in a spar. I will show you what it means to fight to the death," Alpha Derek said, his aura suddenly becoming terrifying.
"At this point, I am honestly beginning to doubt if you are even an Alpha. You couldn't even get past a pregnant lady who was weakened and starved. To be honest, this is going to be easier than taking candy from a baby," Lucian said and began to approach him menacingly.
Alpha Derek was infuriated by his words, and without thinking, he charged at Alpha Lucian. Their blows created wind pressure, and the tremors were loud and terrifying. The force behind their attacks was more than enough to tear a human being apart, but their tough bodies absorbed it because they were Alphas.
Back in the other room, Muriel and Raphael were overwhelming Lord Noah. He was very powerful and strong, but defeating these two behemoths was not something he could do on his own. Only one of them was more than enough to have his hands full. But with the two of them, he stood no chance.
"I swear to Lord Lucian that I will defeat the both of you. And I will do it even if it costs me my life," Lord Noah said, wiping away blood from his forehead.
"Come on now, Noah. We both know that these two are far too much for you. Over the years, you have mastered the habit of underestimating every opponent. Look at you, promising our Alpha that you can take these two down. We both know that's impossible, and that's why I'm here to back you up," the voice of a manly and powerful figure was heard.
Emerging from the brutal battle outside was a neatly dressed Artemis who seemed hungry for battle.
In the next second, claws protruded from his fingers, and his eyes became yellow. He instantly took on the form of a beast just like the rest of them. In this form, he would easily overwhelm Elena, and that was why he never resorted to this during training.
"Well, well. It seems like the alpha's mentor has finally decided to throw his hat in the ring. Would you back me up? This fight is definitely ours," Lord Noah said, his eyes taking on a much brighter glint. There was hope in it, and it was clear he now believed he wouldn't die. With the both of them fighting alongside each other, there was no enemy that could take them down, and their chances of winning skyrocketed.
"Even if there were three of you, you would not be able to overwhelm us. Now stay right there and accept your fate," Muriel and Raphael said simultaneously.
"Hey Noah, you want to know something I really hate?" Artemis said as he stared at Lord Noah.
"I wouldn't know, Artemis. How about you inform me?"
"I hate overly coordinated enemies."
