“See, your side is a failing course and I won’t be stupid to lose” Damien states and my heart leaps. I really am the cause of all these, not just did I push Xander to believe Damien I also pushed him to go to Selene.
“Failing course, we’ll see about that”
At Gabriel’s words, he pulled out a gun and shot Damien right in the leg before walking over to me who was standing in shock.
“We need to leave Cierra, I’ll explain on the way” Gabriel states with an urgent tone before wrapping his fingers around my wrist and almost pulling me with him, but I refuse to bulge, my eyes still fixed on Damien who is crying out in pain on the ground.
“I can’t leave, Xander, what did you to Xander, where is he?” I yell at Damien hoping he’s able to speak through the pain.
“We know where he is Cierra, the Blue Moon pack enforcement are coming, we need to leave, now” Nadine urges behind me and I’m conflicted, my heart racing in my chest. Nadine is with Gabriel, it will be save to go with them…right?
I nod, allowing Gabriel pull me away, however the minute we are the compound gate I turned I held my feet to the ground bring Gabriel to an abrupt stop.
“We need to go Cierra, the guards will stop them from damaging the pack house but I’m not certain they can protect you with they arrive” Nadine says but I shake my head. That is not the reason I pulled them to a stop.
“I have to go inside” I say and turn to run back into the house but Gabriel pulls me back.
“What the hell Cierra, can’t you listen for what, if you stay, you will die, they will take your blood and use it to open the vault. Everyone knows how to get into the vault, the key has been taken by now and Selene has informed them about the blood ritual, for christ's sake can I not lose you now? Please just listen to me” Gabriel yells and this is the first time I have seen him this furious. I have seen him furious, I have seen him so furious while he hit Mother and me till we were bleeding, but I have never seen him furious with care. He doesn’t want to lose me? That’s strange, he almost killed me, he killed my mother, caused us to have an accident, stole a part of the key, and worked with mother’s haters, and now he doesn’t want to lose me?
I have a lot to say to him but now is not the time. I pull my hand away.
“There is one of mother’s treasure with me, I am only going to get it” I say without waiting for their response, I run into the pack house. I don’t get why he’s trying to help me, hell, I am not even sure if he’s trying to help me but I’m not letting go of that book till I die.
Only when I reach the room I realize Nadine and Gabriel had followed me in. It’s weird they are working together too, the last time I remember they were like Cat and rat. Father always wanted to rip Nadine apart and Nadine was always trying to run away from him. I pretend I don’t know but I’m certain they had a rough path together.
“You both go in, I will wait here for watch out, the guards will protect us from the outside” Gabriel stated. I have never seen him this serious, usually, he wears a mischievous smile or a maniac look on his face but today, he looks terrified, his face is out of colors and his knuckles are red while his fingers are tightly wrapped around his gun and his chest heaving. His eyes are the only soft path of me and that is only when he’s staring at me. Weird, I don’t like him staring at me this way. I want to hate him forever, if he goes on like this I may forgive him.
I rush into my room and go straight to find the book. I did throw it under the bed, but I can barely see a thing under the bed, my hand can only do the work as I scrambled under the bed without looking.
“Have you gotten it?” Nadine questions from the doo but I don’t bother answering because soon my hand feels the familiar hardcover.
I don’t hesitate to pull it out hugging it immediately. It’s locked but I believe I would be able to open it soon.
But the hope crashes as chaos begins.
“Sir, they are here, I don’t think we can escape, they’ve surrounded the pack” I hear a guard inform Gabriel from outside and my heart plummeted.
“Nadine, hold on to Cierra, we head through the back” Gabriel orders but just as I make my way out of the room with Nadine a familiar figure approaches us, swaying her hips like the hallway is a fucking runway for her while in the background there are people getting shot dead.
Selene.
“Finally, I get to beat you ginger hair omega” Selene stated with a smirk on her face and I hand over the book to Nadine and step out from her behind to face the alpha female.
“Give me Xander back” I growl.
“You would have to fight and win me then”
