Chapter 28 Twenty Eight
Elara's POV
I had almost forgotten I had an appointment with the Alpha of the Penta pack tomorrow by noon. I had no idea what this meeting would be about. Maybe he wanted me to help him out in some ways I alone could help.
But in the other hand, the Penta pack were always secretive of everything. They hardly made themselves know on air to other packs. They were like green snakes in green grass. Another reason why I wanted to burst out appointment was because the Kordova pack had accused them if looting their pack and since we needed to stay clear and out of trouble, I didn't want to associate with their main culprit. But there was nothing I could do. I had agreed to his appointment and there was no turning back now.
I sighed feeling a sense of unease about this meeting. I had never had anything to die with them. I was so suprised the day I saw their letter in my office.
The Penta pack's reputation was always shrouded in mystery snd I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from them.
They had requested I come alone without any weapon. Without any of my men. Just me having a good time with their Alpha Allan.
Maybe they wanted me to keep a low profile. To lay low and not attract a lot of attention.
As I waited for my breakfast to be served, or I couldn't help but wonder what Alpha Allan wanted from me. What he had in mind.
Was he inviting me so we could have a simple discussion or would it be about something more complex than I anticipated?
I pushed the thoughts aside while I focused on the pangs gnawing at my stomach. I w as hungry and Karina was yet to bring my food.
Tomorrow would eventually meet with Alpha Allan and I would face whatever might come my way with absolutebcaution and determination.
I was ready for whatever the Penta pack had in store for me or my territory.
Karina finally returned with a tray filled with assorted food. She aky it out on the table, their aromatic smell drifting into my nose.
“What do we have here?”. I asked, picking outy handkerchief from the drawer, laying it out on my thighs.
“Finally. Here comes my breakfast," I said with a smile, lifting the lid off the tray.
“I was a beginning to think you weren't going to bring it.” I joked, enjoying the display Infront of me.
I have always made it my point of duty to treat everyone equally. Including those that serve me and those I serve. Everyone had their right. They deserve their personal respect.
“Of course not, Boss. I had to take my time to prepare it for you and the rest of the Crew considering how much you guys fought yesterday to protect our dignity.” she replied truthfully.
I smiled at her, waving my hand in a bid to deregard her appreciation
“You don't need to thank me like that. I was only doing my job. Performing my duty.”
My gaze fell on the food in front of me for the second time.
“This looks like a feast. Are we having a mini feast?" I asked, eyeing the spread before me.
The aroma of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast wafted up nd my stomach growled in anticipation.
“I hope you will like it, Boss. It's fresh eggs served with crispy bacon and warm toast.”
“Like it?.”
“Karina smiled, "I brought your favorite, Boss. Please enjoy!"
I lifted a forkful of egg an dhad my first bite.
“Mhmm. This is yummy and tasteful. I love it.”
Karina smiled at me. He poured out my juice into a translucent glass cup. Stirred it with a straw for exiting the dining room.
I dug in with fill force. The hunger becoming increasingly alarming. As I ate, I began to savor the flavors and textures of Themis sumptuous breakfast.
The eggs were fluffy just the way I liked it. the bacon crispy. Very crispy and the toast was just perfectly toasted. Just the way I would enjoy it on a sunny morning.
"This is so delicious. Karina is such a lifesaver," I muttered to myself taking another bite.
As I ate, my mind wandered back to the meeting my meeting with Alpha Allan. I didn't want to gety mind worked up but the thoughts kept coming. As I ate, I couldn't help but think about the meeting tomorrow.
What did Alpha Allan want with me?
Is it going to be a friendly chat or something more sinister?
I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on my meal. The food was a welcome distraction from the uncertainty that lay ahead.
I ate in silence, enjoying the flavors and textures. One thing I adored about Karina was short cooking skills. She was always a life saver. To me and to my men. No one ever complained about her ruing their taste buds.
Just as I was finishing up with my breakfast, Karina returned with a bowl of fresh fruit salad.
“I thought you ywould like some dessert, Boss. It's a combination of your favourite fruits.” She said with a smile. She placed it in the table, waiting fur my feedback.
I nodded an took a spoonful scoop of the sweet and tangy mix. I munched on it. Enjoying it's texture.

"Thanjs a million ,Karina. This is absolutely tasty. I hits the right spot." I complimented .
Karina blushed , ready to leave But my mind reeled back to Allan as I thought about the next day's meeting.
“Karina.” I called out. She stopped in her track, tuned around to face me. She bowed slightly.
“Yes, Boss?”.
“can you get my clothes ready for tomorrow's appointment with Alpha Allan?" I asked, wiping my mouth clean with a napkin.
Karina nodded, "Of course, Boss. What would you like to wear tomorrow?"
I thought for a moment, biting on y lower lip before responding.
“Just something simple yet professional. I want to make a good impression tomorrow.”
