DAISY

I walked out of the class, with the straps of my bag hanging on my shoulder while my textbooks and the notepad rested on my arms.

“See you tomorrow, Daisy,” Some random students waved at me. We just had the same class.

“Same here,“ I beamed at them, taking the long, circular stairs down.

It was the last class for the day and I couldn't wait to drag my tired self out of the school building. I was ravenous and exhausted, and those were just a few of the million things I was feeling at the moment. It's been one hell of a day, and I'm glad it already ended.

It's been two weeks since I transferred here, and so far, it's been great. Tiring but great. When I was coming down here in California, I thought Father was gonna be taking me to the college where almost all the wolves in the region go to. I thought that was why he asked me to return so that I could go over to that college and be with my kind. But when Beta Xariel called me up the next day after that night I spoke with Father on the phone, he informed me that I would be going to a different college.

There were two colleges in the region – first, was the prestigious college that harbored a lot of my kind in it. The second was this one I'm attending now, less prestigious and more of humans. Turns out I'm never gonna find out what it feels like to be surrounded by people of my kind in the same school.

I was surprised when Beta Xariel broke the news to me. It was Father's last-minute decision and I wasn't even sure why. I mean, the other college had more sophistication and would give me better teachings than this one. Still, Beta Xariel didn't wanna argue. It was past him anyways, so even if he didn't like the decision, he can't change it.

Hearing that I wouldn't be going to the other college made me happy and sad at the same time.

I was happy and relieved because I wouldn't have to be subjected to the agony of seeing the four horsemen (Logan and his Betas) at the other college, that's if they go there. I wasn't sure though, but if they did, then I'm glad I don't have to be put under the pressure of trying to exist around them.

The deepest part of my heart was craving never to see Logan again, at least not anytime soon. For my peace of mind's sake. I'm still trying to gather and try fixing together the pieces of my broken heart. Seeing him would only open up my bruises again, and I'll be back to hurting. Back to depression. Back to sulking. Back to feeling like a loser. I didn't want that, and the only way it could be avoided was by not seeing him.

High school was hell enough, I didn't wanna go to the same school as he did in college. Even though I'm not the naive, clumsy Daisy he took advantage of years back, I still know that going to the same school as he does would only stir up drama and I don't want that.

But then, I was sad because there was still a tiny part of me that wanted to see him again. It was sick and plain stupidity, but I was curious like I've been these past years.

How's he doing? What does he look like now? Is he happy now that he rejected and broke me? Has he moved on from me? Who was he dating now? Was it Victoria and did he get himself a new girlfriend?

I had so many unanswered questions, and the only way I could have answers to them was by seeing him again. That's why a tiny part of me was craving it.

I had no idea what had become of the four horsemen since after high school. One time, when I was still in Spain, I tried stalking them on social media and that was when I stumbled on Charles' account. The location on his profile was California, which was two years ago.

After that, I deleted my social media accounts and took a long break from social media. My therapist demanded I did so, as stalking was unhealthy and would only delay my healing process.

And whenever Beta Xariel visited, he was always careful not to talk about the four horsemen. We could chat for hours and he could make his silly jokes, but he never mentions any of the four horsemen. Not even his son, Charles.

Father never says anything about them either, the four horsemen were like forbidden topics that shouldn't be spoken about. Father and Beta Xariel were scared of breaking my heart, and that's why they were trying to play safe, by not mentioning them around me. But to be honest, I would have wanted to know a little about them, about Logan at least. Because right now, I know nothing. Hell, I'm not even sure they attend the other college. I was just taking a wild guess.

But the bigger reason for my sadness was because my best friend, Valeria, enrolled in the other college. So that means we don't get to go to class together, our schedules would differ, and we won't get to be paired up in projects or games or whatever that might need pairing. We both cried when we realized we weren't going to the same college.

She'd done her transfer process first, and she put in that college's name because she thought that was where I'll be coming to too. But when Father changed his mind, there was no way for Valeria to retract her actions. So we had to accept the awful reality that we would be going to different schools.

Liam and I, however, were attending this college, so I didn't feel too lonely.

Father also had me change my major. Just when I thought I was gonna be continuing with Literature, Father demanded that I switch to business.

It was a decision I hadn't seen coming, but like always, I indulged him and took up Business as my major. It's been hectic for me to catch up to the rest of the students who had the same major. But I wasn't giving up.

A deep sigh escaped me when I was finally out of the building. I took my phone so I could text Liam. He'd texted me back in the class that we should go grab a bite later.

He didn't come to school today, he had to attend a meeting with the investors of their company. Mr. Lawrence, Liam's Father had demanded that Liam attend the meeting as his proxy.

*Going over to Val's. We talk later* I typed in my message box and sent it to him.

I got into a cab and headed to Valeria's apartment.

****************

“Hey, bestie,” Valeria giggled as she opened the door and saw me standing outside.

”Hey, V. I've missed you so much,“ I made a fake whimpering sound as we hugged each other real tight, rocking our bodies like we were kids.

“Not as much as I did,“ Valeria retorted, and she let me go, ”I've got a lot to tell you,“ She said excitedly pulling me into the apartment.

“Someone's giddy,“ I teased her, pinching her cheek softly, “I can't wait to hear it all,” I said, and wanted to sit on her two-armed couch but she immediately yelled at me not to.

“Don't sit on it, Daisy,“ She said in an urgent tone, “Go sit over there,” She pointed at the smaller couch.

”Why?” I asked, already headed to the smaller couch.

“I squirted countless times on it. Haven't had time to clean it up,“ She admitted, not feeling the slightest shame.

”You had sex in here?!” I gasped, “When? With whom? Why?”

“Geez, one question at a time, girl,“ She laughed and headed to the kitchen. She returned with a bowl of popcorn and glasses of juice. She set them on the table, and sat on the other small couch, deserting the two-armed couch.

”Okay, when?”

“That night we hit the nightclub,” She replied.

“But you didn't leave the nightclub with any guy,“ I pinpointed, remembering vividly that Liam and I dropped her off here in her apartment, and she was ALONE.

“Yeah. I met him in the elevator,“

”I don't understand,”

She sighed, grabbing a handful of popcorn and stuffing them into her mouth.

”I took the elevator on my way up, and there he was, all sexy and ready to be fucked. So I lured him into my apartment and we fucked. End of story,“ She grinned, rolling her eyes in a playful, dramatic way.

I was dumbfounded by what she just said. What the fuck? How is that even plausible? I mean, who does that?!

“What if he was a serial killer, or a ghost, or a bloody psycho? You would have been killed or injured. Damn, Valeria. Try to think before you act sometimes, please. It doesn't hurt,” I said to her.

“It's the same thing as going to a nightclub and returning with a random guy,“

“No, it's not. The guys at the nightclub do not know who you are. But this guy, you met him in your elevator. What if he was a stalker who knew where you lived and knew about your high sex drive, so he just waited in the elevator, hoping you'll let him in and you did just that?!“

“I can assure you, girl. That's not the case. This guy is harmless, I should know. I was the one who got fucked by his huge dick, not you,“

“Gosh, you don't have to be so raw,“ I made a face of disgust and she laughed out loud.

“Relax, D. Nothing happened, well, except the best fuck I've ever had in a while,“ She gushed.

Sometimes I wonder how I ended up with a friend like Valeria. But then I remember that beneath all her craziness and toughness lay a young girl who just wanna be loved. I guess that's why I can never bring myself to leave her.

”Uh, D, guess who showed up in my school?“

“Who?“ I asked less enthusiastically, surely, it would be one of her old flings who has the biggest dick and she probably had her pussy pounded in the school's restroom. Typical Valeria.

“The jerk from the nightclub,“ She mused,

“Oh?“ I said, slightly taken aback. She wasn't talking about him with the usual anger and spite she usually talks about him with. The dude was her nightmare.

The last time we spoke about him, she'd vowed to punch his face the next time they met. Right now, it doesn't feel like we were discussing him. She wasn't blowing hot. Something's off.

“Yes, it just so happens that we go to the same college and have the same major. Doesn't it seem unbelievable?“

“Uh, V, we are talking about the same jerk you promised to punch his face when next you two meet, right? Or are there two jerks on your list?“ I asked. Had to be sure we were on the same page right now.

“Yes, him. But I was wrong,”

“About what?“

”About him being a jerk,“

My brows arched at her words. What the hell has gotten over Valeria?

”Okay, maybe he acted the jerk and the perv in our previous meetings. But today, he was different. We did start bickering though. I mean, when I saw him in Professor Sam's office, I thought of strangling him. But later on, he went soft and became the exact gentleman. It was weird. I couldn't believe it at first, but he insisted he wanted to start over with me. I accepted, and we spent the whole day in each other's company. And you know what, D?“

“What?“

“Today feels like the prettiest day of my life. His handsome face and alluring baritone added fine colors to my day and made it the prettiest,”
