LOGAN

A pin-drop silence followed after Charles made his announcement. The other guys looked kinda distorted, but I was more raged, like completely simmered in fury. It was pure trash what Charles just said, no way Father would have demanded that, not now.

“That's a fat, fucking lie, dude. Don't repeat it,“ I warned Charles, as I took to pacing back and forth in the small space between the couch I once laid and the stairs.

My fingers raked my hair shitless, I was trying my hardest to keep it together and not lose my fucking mind. But it's hard. Damn hard, especially with Charles staring at me with eyes that said he wasn't lying.

”Bro, business administration? Isn't that a tough major to take-on in a final year?” Drake asked calmly, glancing at Jake, who seemed to agree with him.

Charles sighed and slumped back on the couch, bowing his head.

“Honestly? I'm confused as well. How did we spend four years doing nothing and now we're supposed to take on business administration? I thought we weren't allowed to pick any majors,“ His eyes were on me when he said the last part of his statement.

“Are you sure it was my Father who demanded this?” I asked again. The animosity I felt about Father would only hit its peak if it's confirmed that he really gave this order.

”Father couldn't have lied about this. The Alpha King said we have to return with a degree. So we better get off our ass and get to studying,” Charles said firmly. And dear God, he wasn't lying. It was Father who gave this order.

“In our last year here? Nice, real nice,” Jake added, and nodded uninterestedly, looking away.

”This isn't about studying, man. The Alpha King is still hellbent on punishing us for our past sins. Taking up a major as tense as business administration is no joke. He knows that, yet he wants to put us through that hell,”

“My thoughts exactly. It's been five years already. Haven't we been punished enough?” Jake asked.

All this time, I remained quiet, trying to keep my rage in check. Just when I try forgiving Father, just when I tried understanding why he's been so cruel with us, he gets up and pulls another stunt. When is this gonna end? When will he quit treating us like felons? The guys did nothing wrong, or maybe they did, but we were young and naive. We didn't know better. Bullying and making people's lives hell was all we knew. And Daisy was our main victim for so many ridiculous reasons.

But it's been years already, and we've changed. We weren't bullies anymore, and we certainly don't pick on innocent folks anymore. We went through a hard transition because we wanted to make up for everything we did. And Father has put us through hell and back, just to make us feel the misery we put others through. We've felt it, and we do know we're always gonna be sorry to Daisy and every other victim of our teenage bullying.

But yeah, Father has to stop, like get the hell off our case and let us live our lives. We got punished. We learned. We evolved. That's all that truly matters. If he keeps meddling and making sudden rash decisions for us, we might think he's just finding pleasure in making our lives hell.

”I guess we got no choice but to go get ready,” Drake said in a perplexed tone.

”Yeah, guess so,“ Charles mumbled.

“You guys, go ahead. I'm not taking up any major. Not business administration at least,” I finalized, ignored their confused stares, and headed upstairs to my room.

The first thing I did was call up Beta Xariel, I needed to know just what they talked about that made Father demand this from us. There was always a pre-talk, and I needed to hear it.

He picked on the third ring, and his voice came in a hushed tone,

“Logan, we're in a meeting,“

“Perfect. Then I guess Father can hear us. Put the call on speaker,“ I demanded rashly, unable to hold down my rage.

“Logan, please….“

“Put the damn call on the speaker!“ I snapped angrily, hating that he was always trying to make excuses for Father.

“I'll advise you to watch your tone when speaking to my Beta, son,” Father's grave voice broke through the speaker of my phone.

“You don't get to complain, Father. You've had my Betas and I go through hell, and we don't hold it against you,”

“What do you want? I'm in a meeting,“

”What the heck is this bullshit about? Taking up a major? We're heirs. We don't take up majors,“

“But now you will. As your Alpha, I got every right to change the rules and you don't get to complain. You just do as you told,“

“For how long?” This part of the question came out in a broken tone. “It's been years already, Father. How much longer do you plan on punishing us?”

“Just as long as I see you've changed for the better, which clearly, you haven't. You still an ass,”

You know how much it hurts when you've done all you could to right your wrongs but never get an acknowledgment for it? How much it hurts when you get called an ass by your Father? The dejection that creeps into your broken soul when you realize that nothing you'll do will vindicate you of your past sins?

All those fucked-up feelings were what slammed hard at my heart right now. Father would never forgive me. At the onset, back when he kicked me out of the palace, I did all I could to get his forgiveness. I pleaded, I groveled, I did everything, but he was dead to my pleadings.

Right now, I've exhausted all the energy to beg and grovel. From here on, I'm just gonna do what I want, even if it goes against his orders.

I grew up seeing a cold man as my Father, but for some reason, he was his happiest just when he was around Daisy. And that – the fact that he preferred her over me – was one of the reasons I loathed her so much growing up. I never saw my Father smile at me, but he was always cackling when Daisy showed up. If you look at it from that angle, then Father had his share of the blame for the hate I felt for Daisy while growing up. She had my Father's love and I never did. I never will. No heir child would ever sit right with that, knowing that an Omega could get his Father to laugh, and he can't even make him smile.

“You might as well cut off my ties to the Alpha position because I'm never gonna let you control my life again. This is as far as you go, Father,” I finalized and cut the call.

I hurled the phone to the wall and it crashed to pieces. It was the unbearable hurt that follows after all my arguments with Father that prompted me into doing that.

I sat on my bed and just shut my eyes, letting the tears take their path. They rolled unabatedly and I was heaving from the pain that was jumbled up in my heart. I'm always in my feelings when I realize how unfixable my bond with Father was.

But at this point, there was nothing I could do, except try to break free from his control and torture. And the one way I could do that was not taking up the major.

In the next two weeks that followed, I spent all my time in my room, wallowing in my pains. It was a two-weeks of brooding and feeling my lowest.

The only comfort I had was from Daisy's books like I had to read over 50 of them in my two-week stay indoors. I had their e-book version on my laptop and I drowned in her sad words. It didn't make me feel any better though. Nah, on the contrary, I felt worse, seeing just how much I hurt her. Her stories might be fictional but every bit of emotion she poured into them was what she was feeling when writing them, and they resonated with me.

It took me a while but I was forced to conclude that Daisy was my major. My world and its bearings revolved around her. And every decision I made from here on was all about her.

After two weeks, I felt homesick and began craving to be within the walls of our school. But there was no way I would be returning to that crappy hall.

I've decided to choose a major, and the only thing I could think of was English literature. Not for the love of it or stress in It, but because it was the easiest way to get more access to the books in the library. I needed the paperback forms of Daisy's books. Unwinding in her books makes me feel alive, despite the pain it courses through my heart.

I called up Beta Xariel and asked him to help me seek out the necessary things that would make me eligible to take up the major.

“Logan, why don't you just do what your Father wants? It can't be that bad,“ He said to me. Of course, he was gonna take Father's side. After all, he was Father's Beta and wingman.

“I'm sorry, but I wanna defy Father's orders. And, it's the closest major to Daisy,“ I told him.

But then again, was it really to defy Father or because of the guilt that was eating me up and making me feel like I don't deserve anything good?

Taking up a major in business would have my life back on track. I'll be serious, and fulfilled, and graduate with a degree. That's a fucking perfect life, and I don't deserve it, not after ruining Daisy's life.

If I take up an English major, it wouldn't mean shit to me. I'll just laze around until graduation, and then I return to the pack a complete loser. That'll lessen the guilt, knowing I ruined my life just as I ruined hers. You could say I was self-destructive. But giving myself the retribution I needed was the only thing I could do.

After much trying to convince me, Beta Xariel finally gave it a rest, after seeing that he couldn't. The next day, he came down here and went to meet the higher-ups at my school. He took care of the necessities and today, I got ready for school.

I arrived at the building at my most convenient time. Had my backpack hanging over my shoulder with my hands stuffed in my pockets. The guys already left for school hours ago, they were now engrossed in their business major classes, and we barely had time to bond now.

I spotted my first class and walked into the hall through the back door. A professor stood at the front of the class, addressing them. I thought my entry had gone unnoticed, not until he shouted out my name.

“You're late, O' Hara!“

All eyes were on me, and the usual female giggling filled the hall.

“Won't happen again,“ I replied briskly, settling on a seat at the back.

The professor went back to his boring monologue and I completely tuned out. Not until I had him talk about a project and how the students have been paired up.

It made me recall my days in high school and the last time I got paired up. It was with Daisy. I was the complete beast who took advantage of it in every erotic way possible. But truth be told, I still remember all those moments we shared. Those dick-sucking, pussy licking, deep-kissing moments were locked up in my memories and I try never to forget them. They meant the world to me, even though they happened at the wrong time, for all the wrong reasons.

“Logan O'Hara!“ The thunderous voice of the professor jolted me from my thoughts. For someone as old as he was, he had a rather loud voice.

”Yes?“

”See me in my office, now,” He said, grabbed his books, and exited the class.

I followed him out and minutes later, I was standing outside his office. I knocked and heard him say a low ”Come in,“

I turned the doorknob and the door creaked open. He gestured at me to have a seat and I did.

I'd barely gotten comfortable in my seat when another knock came on the door.

“Come right in,” He said,

Light footsteps were heard in the office, and a familiar, feminine voice spoke.

“You sent for me, Sir?“

My head snapped up and she was staring right back at me. What the fuck?!
