BURKE'S and POV

It has been difficult the past few days, being in the hospital bed trying to get my memory back, flashes upon flashes of Catherine kept running through my mind before finally getting my memory back, and it's the second-best thing that happened to me after Catherine of course.

Realizing how much I hurt Catherine made me want to piss on my pants, I mean who could have hurried the woman I have ever loved that much better still I made the mother of my kids go through hell. I'm sure she hates me now and even the kids hate me more.

Because I hurt my family, I decided to remain in the hospital bed, I had to pay for an extra week, at least that would help me hide my ugly face from them, I didn't have the slightest idea where to start from when I am apologizing to Catherine, is it from the time Hayley killed out a baby or the time she caught me with Hayley and even after that when I was on my sick bed she didn't care if I had hurt her she came to see me but I sent her away and blamed her for poisoning me when it was all Hayley's plan.

"My Lord, it's been over a week, and your family is in the mansion they are waiting for you, your wife is pissed as hell that she even threatened to leave but I told her not to, I told her you to deserve a chance to explain yourself you can't keep on hiding in this hospital bed forever", Diago said to me.

"I know, I know I am supposed to be there. I know I am supposed to apologize but I don't know what to do, and even if I do I don't know how to do it I can't even look Catherine in the face I am a disaster", I said.

." My lord I know how you feel you have made a lot of mistakes but I want to assure you that none of it is your fault you were not in your right senses sorry to say, that means you didn't intend any of your actions", he cheered.

" Yeah I know, do you have any idea how I should go about it, if you do please share", I replied.

" No, no, no, no, it's your marriage and I shouldn't be giving you insights on how to please your wife", he said hastily like I was trying to assume something.

" Come off it Diago, I know you would never betray me let alone have anything to do with my wife, I am just asking, friend to friend", I laughed out.

" I am so sorry my Lord I didn't mean it that way I just didn't want to interfere in the business of your marriage and sincerely I don't have any idea how you should go about it, but anyhow you do it I am sure your wife is going to be pleased with you", he smiled.

" Are you sure about that?"I asked worriedly.

" Yeah sure and besides you have some duty to attend to you've been lagging in your ministerial duties, and you have to sentence someone remember", he smiled

" Yeah sure I have to", I said.

I was reluctant to leave the hospital at first but at the mention of Hayley's name all I wanted to was get back to the mansion and serve justice on Hayley, she almost ruined my life and the life of my family.

I stood up from the bed and dressed up hurriedly, I wanted to get back to the mansion as soon as possible, and in no time we were there, Diago is such a reckless driver, he doesn't give a fuck about whosoever is on the road he is always just on the run.

I made sure I avoided seeing the kids and Catherine, before I apologized I had to set things straight out with Hayley hopefully that would get me a win in Catherine's heart.

"Go get the elders and the whole of the pack we have a judgment to pass on an offender", I said to the guard before entering the living room. I turned to go to my room and my eyes met with that of Catherine. It was awkward. I wanted to say something but I couldn't say it, my mouth was just opened. I tried to force the words out of my mouth but I was too scared to do it.

She walked past me like I didn't matter to hurt and it hurts that much.

I went up to the room and quickly had a change of wardrobe. I looked down through the window and the courtyard was already full, elders well seated on their chairs, I guess I was the main man remaining to come out.

I came out of the room down to the courtyard and ordered the guards to bring the prisoner out.

Only a few days in the dungeon and she already looked like shit, I can only imagine how she would look if she spent more days there.

" in witness of the moon goddess, Elders of this great pack, my humble and loyal subjects it is with great displeasure I bring you one of your own who has committed treason against the land and the Alpha's house in particular, she tried to kill me and my family and you all know the punishment of that is death", I said loudly.

I wanted the process to be done real quickly as I didn't want to waste any more time.

"Let's cut off her neck", someone from the crowd yelled.

"As much as I would like to do that, let's temper justice with mercy she is with child and the child cannot suffer for her wrong, however, we are going to make her rot in the dungeon for the rest of her life and when the child is born we would take him or her from the mother's hand so she wouldn't end up raising her child as callous as she is", I said.

" No no no Burke you can't do this you can't keep me in there forever, In fact, you can't take my child away from me, please forgive me", Hayley cried.

" That's my final judgment and my word is law, take her away", I said.

She begged with tears in her eyes but I couldn't care less I had had enough of her wickedness
