Chapter 84

Chapter 84
Scarlett POV

Ever since I left Jack hasn’t stopped begging me to come back but I don’t want to. I have found peace in the  deserts and I have made new friends. I have still not recovered from Becky’s death and every night I cry myself to seep. Apart from those in the pack house, nobody really know about my exit from the pack house and Silvermoon so no one else has reached out to me but a message from Jack got me interested.

He shared his location with me and told me he would be sending Marie up the mountains, he says he will be sending Marie somewhere far away in the mountains, he says he knows that she’s lying about the location of her home country but he’s going along with it because he wants me to meet up with them and have my revenge.

He added, “Don’t let her take everything away from you; your brother, your best friend and your life. Don’t let her win.”

That got to me, I can’t let her win, even if I have rejected Jack. I still can’t let her win, I need to avenge the people I love. So I borrowed a truck from some desert nomads, and followed Jack’s location, I moved when he moved and didn’t stop when he stopped. I kept going till I was a few miles away from them. Then I noticed that they had stopped. I don't know what for. They were high up the mountains while I was still on the lower parts of the mountains. Then there was a big quake, rocks flew, the mountains shook.

As I lay low in the car waiting for the trembling to subside I had a premonition that something would happen to Jack, in a vision I could see him falling off a cliff. It was terrible, I can’t let Marie win for the third time. I can’t. Despite the falling rocks I stormed out of the truck and started to ran towards where my senses would lead me, I believe it was leading me to Jack. The shake ended, the falling rocks seized, and as I looked on the floor ahead of me, I saw Jack, he had shifted into his wolf and lay lifeless on the floor as a pool of blood began to form and swallow up the white snow.

As I looked up I saw Marie steadily running down the mountain even with her hands cuffed behind her, I didn’t see Warren which made me scream. I shifted halfway, half into my wolf and half human, and ran towards her, this time I was mad! She had done so much and now she Jack too was lying in a pool of blood because of her, how dare she? How dare she.

She saw me coming and also charged at me, we clashed and to my surprise her cuffs came off, she threw her hands at me but she missed and I grabbed her hand and swung her down, she pulled my legs and tried to bring me down with her but I kicked her in the face and sat on her grabbing her neck.

“Where is Fredrick?” I shrieked and banged her head against a rock but not hard enough to kill her, she glared at me and tried to breath fire I guess but it didn’t work she must be out of energy.

“Fredrick?” she panted, “He died years ago in the mountains of Prince Town, I heard he’s your brother…” as she panted I could feel her grip tighten on my hands. I know what she’s doing. Trying to recover some strength and attack me, I won’t let her. I grabbed her neck even tighter as she gasped for air.

“Where did you burry him? Tell me exactly where.”

She coughed and gasped and struggled, “I didn’t burry him, I only took his blood. It’s no use finding him he died below the mountains, even if no one buried him, the mountains have by now…”

I shrieked in pain and striked her across the face then I hit her head on the rocks again, ending her life in the process. Just like she left my brother’s body in the mountain I left hers. I shifted back into my human form and ran towards Jack. He wasn’t moving, his blood had solidified in the snow, I was screaming as I lifted him into my arms.

“Oh no Jack you can’t also leave me like this. Please, please.” I looked up into the sky and wished the moon was here, “It’s not fair, I have lost my brother and my best friend. If you could grant me one wish, please let Jack live I can’t lose him too.” I screamed and wept.

I could smell Warren and hear him descend the mountain, I’m sure he heard my cries too I was distraught and crying very loudly as Jack lay in my arms.

“I deserve to have one wish granted, please!” I wept, “Please let Jack live.” I may be mad at him but I can’t afford to lose him too. How will I sleep at night? How will I keep living. Warren haggardly walked towards me and watched as I cried with Jack’s lifeless body in my arms.

“Your highness!” he muttered and I broke down even further howling in pain begging the moon to wake Jack up.

As I wept I heard a faint voice, it was Jack.
“Scarlett?” he said in a feeble voice.

“Jack?”
He breathed a sigh of relief, “I’m glad you came back… from now on I will do anything you ask.”

I hugged him so tightly! “Oh thank you Jack, thank you so much for being alive for me.” I hugged him tightly. I have used my last wish to bring him back to life, and though I know I will have many more wishes as I live, I’m just glad that I have Jack here with me.
