Chapter 139 Sierra Bleeds
Chapter 139 Sierra Bleeds
Sierra's POV
I felt it the moment the twins ascended
The entity fragment inside me began ripping away.
I'd carried it since the resurrection attempt, since Celeste merged with my consciousness and I became the bridge between human and entity.
For months, it had been part of me. I had been one percent human, ninety-nine percent entity. The fragment was maintaining my dimensional awareness and connection to the convergence.
Now it was leaving and pulling toward the twins.
They needed every fragment of entity energy to stabilize the collapse including mine.
I collapsed to my knees. I felt the fragment tearing free. It hurt in ways I couldn't describe. It was like losing a sense I'd learned to depend on.
My vision changed first, the multidimensional layers I'd been seeing for months flattened. Reality became simple again.
I couldn't see the dimensional frequencies anymore. I couldn't perceive the entity signatures. I couldn't sense the bridges between realities.
I was becoming blind to the cosmic.
Then the entity consciousness withdrew. The part of me that had processed existence on multiple levels simultaneously. The part that had made me more than human.
It pulled away like a tide receding and leaving behind only what I'd been before.
The fragment left completely and I bled literally.
Blood was running down my face as my body adjusted to the sudden loss of entity matter.
"Sierra!" Donovan was beside me, holding me. "What's happening?"
"I'm human again," I gasped. "The entity fragment is gone and pulled into the twins. They needed it."
Dr. Reeves rushed over. She scanned me with her instruments. "Her entity percentage is dropping rapidly."
I felt each percentage point leave.
"Can you stop it?" Donovan demanded.
"No, this is voluntary separation. Her body is releasing the entity matter. If I tried to stop it, it could kill her."
The bleeding continued. My body was purging what had been integrated into my cellular structure for months.
I was losing everything that had made me special. Everything that had made me the bridge.
The bleeding slowed down as my body was almost done purging the foreign matter.
"Sierra, stay with me," Donovan said. His voice sounded different because I couldn't hear the dimensional harmonics anymore.
"I'm here, I'm okay." I wiped the blood from my face. "I think."
The transformation was completed and I was entirely human again.
Dr. Reeves ran her scans. "Entity percentage at zero. No dimensional signatures. No residual energy. She's baseline human."
I stood slowly as Donovan helped me.
Everything felt different.
I looked at the twins in their cribs. They were glowing and pulsing with the entity matter they'd absorbed from me and countless other sources.
They'd ascended and become something beyond what they were and I'd descended and become less than I'd been.
"How do you feel?" Donovan asked.
"I feel strange and limited. It's like I've lost a sense I didn't know I had." I touched my face where the blood was drying. "I can't see the dimensional layers anymore. I can't feel the entity presence. It's like going colorblind."
"But you're safe. You're alive."
"I'm completely human." I looked at him. "For the first time since you tried to resurrect Celeste, I'm just me."
"Is that good or bad?"
I didn't know. Part of me felt relieved. The burden of being a bridge was gone. The weight of cosmic awareness lifted but part of me felt diminished. Like I'd lost something essential, that had become part of my identity.
"I chose this," I said quietly.
"What?"
"When the collapse started. When the twins needed entity matter to stabilize reality. I could have held on to my fragment and protected it. But I let it go, I chose to give them what they needed."
"That's why the fragment left so cleanly. You released it voluntarily."
"Yes, because they're my daughters. And they needed it more than I did."
Echo approached. "The entity matter you provided was crucial. Your fragment helped stabilize the expansion and helped prevent the twins from fragmenting when they merged with billions of consciousnesses."
"So it was worth it."
"That is subjective but yes. In terms of outcome, it was optimal."
I looked at the twins who were still glowing.
"Are they okay? Are they still Aurora and Luna?"
"I do not know. They have not yet returned to individual consciousness. They remain merged with the collective. It may take time for them to separate back into themselves."
"And if they can't?"
"Then they have become something else entirely, a new form of convergence, human and entity and billions of consciousnesses merged into one."
I felt tears coming. "I lost them and I lost myself. All in one moment."
Donovan held me closer. "You're still you. You're still Sierra."
"I'm just human," I said. It sounded like being less but maybe it was freedom.
