Chapter 135 Luna's Truth
Chapter 135 Luna's Truth
Sierra's POV
Luna spoke to me telepathically at four in the morning while Aurora slept.
I was sitting in the nursery, exhausted, watching both twins when Luna's presence entered my mind.
I need to tell you something I have been calculating for weeks.
I looked at her crib. Luna's eyes were open, and glowing faintly with dimensional energy.
"What is it?"
I can erase the Convergence permanently.
I sat up straighter. "What do you mean?"
I can sever the dimensional bridges and the connections between realities and permanently seal the dimensions from each other.
"How?"
The same way I can reach into minds. I can reach into dimensional structures. I can identify the frequency that maintains the bridges and invert it. I can create anti-resonance and cancel the connection completely.
I felt cold. "You're nine weeks old. You can't possibly..."
I have run the calculations three thousand seven hundred and forty-two times. I have simulated the dimensional mathematics from every angle. It is possible. I can do it.
"What would happen?"
All dimensional permeability ceases. Entities trapped in their home dimension cannot return. Those currently in this reality begin to fade within hours. Supernatural abilities that rely on dimensional energy stop working. Magic fails. Werewolves become normal humans. Vampires lose their powers. Witches lose access to dimensional forces. The fae disappear.
"And you?"
I lose seventy percent of what I am. I become mostly human with residual supernatural traits. Aurora loses less because her entity percentage is lower but she also transforms. We both become diminished versions of what we are now.
"Why would you do that?"
Because it solves every problem. No religious movements worshipping us because we are no longer cosmically significant. No Purist Alliance fearing us because we are no longer hybrid threats. No First Convergence destiny because there are no dimensional bridges to maintain. No Thomas Grey because his ordered society becomes unnecessary. The door closes because there is nothing to escape from.
I stared at my daughter. "You'd sacrifice what you are to escape your purpose."
I would sacrifice what I was created to be to become what I choose to be. That is not sacrifice. That is liberation.
"What about the supernatural world and millions of beings who depend on dimensional connections?"
They adapt or they fade. Either way, the chaos ends. Reality becomes stable and ordered through separation rather than hierarchy.
"You'd kill millions."
I would transform millions. Some would die and most would transform into baseline versions of their species. That is not murder. That is cosmic surgery.
I felt sick. "Luna, you can't..."
I can. The question is should I? That is why I am telling you so that we can discuss the ethics.
"The ethics of genocide?"
The ethics of ending a failed experiment. The dimensional bridges were the First Convergence's creation. They were never natural. They were always artificial manipulation of reality's structure. Removing them returns reality to its original separated state. .
"Before integration was possible."
Integration has failed. Look around you. Species still hate each other. The academy fractures. Religious movements war over us. The Grey Collective offers tyranny as salvation. Integration created chaos, not harmony. Separation would end the chaos.
I looked at Aurora, sleeping peacefully for once. "What does Aurora think?"
Aurora does not know. She would refuse. She is empathically connected to millions. She feels their potential suffering. She would not be able to make the logical choice because her empathy would overwhelm her judgment.
"So you're going to decide for both of you?"
I am asking you to decide as our mother and as someone who can be objective.
"I'm not objective. I love you both."
Then love us enough to free us. Love us enough to end our cosmic burden. Love us enough to let us be children instead of successors to a dying god.
I stood, pacing. My mind was racing.
Luna was offering escape, not through the door but through erasing the conditions that created the need for escape.
No dimensional bridges meant no cosmic destiny. No supernatural world meant no integration chaos. No entity connection meant no First Convergence replacement.
"What about the door?" I asked. "The First Convergence created it as an option."
The First Convergence created it as a trap. Leave and abandon reality to collapse, or stay and accept cosmic servitude. Both options maintain the bridges. Both options preserve the First Convergence's legacy.
Luna's telepathic voice was cold.
I am offering a third option the First Convergence never considered - Erase the bridges entirely, end its legacy and end the manipulation.
"How long would it take?"
I need to be physically near a dimensional anchor point. One of the original twelve from the Convergence War. I generate the anti-resonance frequency. The effect propagates globally within minutes. Within an hour, all dimensional bridges collapse. Within a day, transformation is complete.
"And you're certain this would work?"
Ninety-seven point three percent certain. There is a two point seven percent probability that collapsing the bridges causes cascade failure.
"What does cascade failure look like?"
Total existence collapse and all realities destroyed simultaneously.
I felt my legs weaken and sat down. "You're asking me to approve a plan that might destroy all of existence."
I am asking you to approve a plan that has a ninety-seven point three percent chance of freeing us and a two point seven percent chance of ending everything. Statistically acceptable risk.
"That's not acceptable risk. That's gambling with reality."
Staying on our current path is gambling with reality. The First Convergence is dying. The bridges are destabilizing. The Grey Collective is developing weapons. The religious movements are intensifying. We are moving toward inevitable catastrophic conflict. My plan offers clean resolution.
"Your plan offers potential annihilation."
Two point seven percent probability.
"That's two point seven percent too high."
Luna was quiet for a moment. Then:
You are letting fear override logic.
"I'm letting wisdom override calculation. There's a difference."
Is there or are you simply choosing familiar suffering over unfamiliar solution?
I looked at my nine weeks old daughter who was asking my permission.
"Does Donovan know about this?" I asked.
No, I wanted your opinion first. You are hybrid. You understand what it means to exist between states. Donovan is partly human and partly werewolf. He cannot comprehend the burden.
"Don't underestimate your father."
I am not. I am recognizing his limitations. He makes decisions from emotion. You make decisions from experience. I need experience-based judgment.
"My experience says that destroying things is easier than fixing them. And you're offering destruction."
I am offering liberation.
"By erasing millions of people's identities. By removing supernatural abilities. By ending the dimensional connections that some beings have spent centuries developing." I shook my head. "Luna, that's not liberation. That's amputation."
Sometimes amputation saves the body.
"And sometimes it just creates different suffering."
We were at an impasse.
Luna's eyes pulsed with frustration.
I do not want to be what they created me to be. I do not want to maintain bridges for eternity. I do not want cosmic servitude disguised as purpose.
Her telepathic voice cracked slightly.
I want real choice, not the door's false choice, not Grey's structured choice. I want actual freedom to determine what I become.
"I know," I whispered. "I know you do."
Then let me erase it. Let me end the manipulation. Let me free us all.
I looked at Aurora, then at Luna. Both daughters were trapped by circumstances beyond their control.
Both of them were asking for freedom in different ways.
Aurora wanted the door so that she could escape to a place beyond burden.
Luna wanted annihilation of the system creating the burden.
Neither wanted what they were being forced toward.
"I need to discuss this with Donovan," I said.
He will refuse. Emotion will override logic.
"Maybe. But he's your father. He deserves to know."
What if he refuses and prioritizes millions of supernatural beings over his own daughters' freedom?
"Then we find another way, together, as a family."
There is no other way. I have calculated every possibility.
"You're nine weeks old. You haven't calculated everything."
Luna's presence withdrew from my mind. She was hurt.
I'd wounded my daughter by suggesting that her logic was insufficient.
But I'd also bought time to find an answer that didn't involve genocide or cosmic servitude or potential existence collapse.
