Chapter 47

Chapter 47
Dwight’s POV

I tackled Logan—he fell, but his wolf immediately stood back up.
“How dare you hurt my mate!” my wolf growled loudly.

The moment he saw our mate lying on the ground, I could no longer hold him back. He took over—he wanted to kill that bastard. Logan’s wolf smirked and attacked me.

He tried to bite my neck, but my wolf dodged. I backed away from him, and he did the same. We snarled at each other, circling, gathering momentum to strike.

Even though his wolf was bigger than mine, being smaller had its advantages—and I would never allow myself to lose.

He fought for power and dominance.
I fought for my pack and my mate.

“It’s a great honor to face me, isn’t it?” he teased.
Psh. It’s no honor at all if you’re evil.

“It’s not an honor to fight a vile creature like you,” I growled, glaring at him dangerously.

I glanced briefly at Selene.
Shit! She was unconscious—I had to end this quickly. My mate and our pup needed me.

Because I lost focus for a second, Logan managed to pin me down and swipe at my face, wounding my wolf. I tried to get away and regain my footing.

Despite his weight, I hurled him into the air with my head. He landed on his feet, but I didn’t give him the chance to counterattack. I leaped onto his back and bit his ear. He thrashed violently, trying to shake me off.

But I refused to let go. No matter what he did, I was going to kill him for what he had done to my mate. Using my sharp claws, I slashed his side. Logan whimpered and collapsed, blood pouring from the wound.

My wolf spat out the ear he had bitten off earlier. This wasn’t just any injury—he may be a Lycan, but I am a Werewolf. Weres don’t accept defeat.

Better to die than lose—because a winner never quits, but a quitter never wins. If I gave up, what would happen to the Weres? How could they survive if Logan won?

I would rather see him die than see us perish. I approached the dying Logan.
“You will never be the King of Werewolves,” I told him.

I bared Light’s fangs and moved closer. Today, he would rest in peace forever. I was about to sink my teeth into his neck when—

“No! Please! Have mercy on me! Please!” Logan begged, panting heavily.

Why should I spare his life? He had taken so many innocent Weres’ lives. But… I wasn’t like him. I wasn’t as greedy as he was.

“I will spare your life this time. But next time—never show your face in any pack territory. If I find out you have… I will hunt you down myself,” I told him sternly.

He shifted back to human, naked, clutching his bleeding side and missing ear. He nodded.

I turned away, shifted back to human form, and walked toward my mate, who was still in her wolf form. Her fur was drenched in blood, but I knew most of it wasn’t hers. I was proud of her. She had defended the pack despite her condition.

Before I could reach her, I heard Crater shout, “Kuya Dwight! Behind your back!”

I turned—and my eyes widened. Logan’s wolf was charging at me.

I froze in shock. Why had I trusted an evil creature? My wolf instincts took over, but before I could shift, Logan was already on the ground—with Crater’s wolf on top of him, biting his neck hard.

Crater stepped back from Logan’s wolf. His wolf looked at me, gripping Logan’s neck in his jaws, and dragged him to me. He propped Logan right in front of me—lifeless.

“He’s all yours, Alpha,” Crater said respectfully through the mindlink.

“I gave you a second chance, but you destroyed it. Now, this is what I’ll do to you,” I said, shifting back into my wolf. I charged at him and ripped his head clean off.

“This is for my pack.”

Then I tore apart his body.
“This is for your evilness.”

Finally, I finished the last of him and tossed the remains aside.
“And that is for my mate.”

I smiled. We had won. Just as I promised my mate, I tore Logan limb from limb.

Crater’s wolf, Crescence, howled victoriously at the moon. Right after Logan’s death, the full moon appeared in the sky. The Moon Goddess was pleased with our victory. I heard howls from our allies—the wolves who had helped defeat the combined forces of the Lycans and rogues. The battle was over. We had won.

Women and children began emerging from the Pack House, embracing their mates. Crater had returned to the pack just in time to help me.

I quickly walked to Selene and lifted her wolf form into my arms.
“Call the Pack Doctor! NOW!” I ordered through the mindlink.

We entered the house. I carried her upstairs to our room and laid her down.
“Love, shift back so your wolf can heal you… it’s over, love. Logan’s dead,” I whispered in her ear.

Her eyes fluttered open weakly. She recognized me and slowly shifted back to human.

“Did… you… kill… Keira?”

Her question stunned me. I hadn’t seen Keira anywhere—her scent had vanished. I shook my head, and she immediately tried to sit up.

“No! Please, my love, stay still. You need to rest—for you and our pup,” I said softly.

She whimpered and lay back down.
“How… about… Rose? Did… Crate… find… her?”

I shook my head again. Tears streamed down her face.

Seeing my mate like this made me feel weaker. I hugged her tightly, kissed her lips and forehead, and pressed my forehead to hers.
“I promise, my love, we’ll find Rose. Our family will be together again,” I vowed.

When I pulled away, she had fallen asleep. I took out two shirts and a pair of shorts from the closet—dressed her in one shirt, and put on my own clothes.

Just then, Lea arrived. I hadn’t locked the door, so she came right in. At times like this, there was no room for formalities—every moment counted, and the Pack Doctor was busy tending to the many wounded.

“Alpha, I’ll check Luna first. The others are being treated by doctors from other packs,” she said, immediately examining my mate.

“Lea, take care of Selene. I’ll go handle things downstairs,” I told her, leaving the room.

I found Crater and Lester in the living room, tending to their own minor wounds. They didn’t seem to need medical attention.

“I think Keira escaped,” I told them seriously as I passed.

Crater immediately stood. “Shit! She might have Rose! I need to find her!”

I understood, but we needed to let things settle first. I tapped his shoulder. “Not now, Crate. Rest first. I promise—once everything’s in order, we won’t stop until we find Rose.”

He calmed down and sat back. We all turned when a young girl emerged from the door that connected to the Safe Place, crying.

“Alpha… my friend Darren… he’s lying on the floor… unconscious,” she sobbed, pointing to where she came from.

We rushed in—Crater leading, followed by Lester and me. Crater checked Darren’s pulse and neck.

“He’s okay, just unconscious,” Crater said, carrying him out of the Safe Place. Lester carried the little girl.

Crater took Darren to his room to rest. We later learned that Darren had bravely protected his mother. That’s what the little girl told us.

I knew we still had much to face—Keira was still at large, and Rose remained missing. But for now, I had to focus on repairing the damage the Lycans and rogues had done to the pack, especially mourning the Weres who had fallen in battle.
