Chapter 45
Chapter 45
Dwight’s POV
Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for—the day when Packs from all over will unite to fight Logan.
“Any moment now, we will defeat Logan and his evil! Who will stand with me? Who will fight alongside me?” I roared to the Weres gathered within the Silver Moon Pack territory, ready to take down the Lycans and the rogues.
“We will!” they shouted in unison. I knew that many of them were here not just for justice, but for vengeance—for the loved ones they’d lost to the Lycans and rogues.
Even the Howling Pack, Crescent Moon, Bluestone, Red Claw, Bloodmoon, Black Forest, and Black Moon Packs had joined us. Alphas from all these packs stood by my side. As one of the largest Packs in existence, I was leading this war.
“Good! Now, shift and head toward the Lycans’ territory. We end this war tonight! I’ll lead the way with my men. Follow me!” I commanded with authority.
I nodded at the other Alphas before stepping down from the platform where the most powerful wolves of the werewolf race stood. As I descended, I stripped off my clothes—just as the others did—ready to shift.
Everyone was prepared for this battle. Even the weather seemed to match our resolve—dark clouds loomed overhead, a light drizzle falling from the sky. Some would take it as a sign that the Moon Goddess did not favor this war… but deep down, I knew she supported us.
We had prepared for this day. Victory was ours to claim. Evil could never truly triumph over good.
I leapt into the air, shifting mid-jump into my six-foot black-furred wolf, and charged ahead. We entered the forest—the path that would lead us to the enemy.
My wolf ran at full speed. We spread out through the forest, weaving and ducking through trees. There were around ten thousand of us—wolves running in formation. If any human were to see us, they’d be terrified beyond belief. But that wouldn’t happen; Pack witches had cast barriers along our route to keep us hidden from human eyes and from werewolf hunters who wished to wipe us out entirely.
I mindlinked my mate once more. “I love you so much, my love. Always and forever.” Before he could respond, I cut the link and refocused my mind on my target—Logan.
Soon, my wolf spotted the location Josh had mentioned. My wolf snarled and growled.
“We’re here,” Josh said.
A thick fog spread across a wide clearing surrounded by dense forest. This was it. Logan wanted the battle fought here—his chosen battlefield. He wanted to dominate the fight… and he intended to bury us in this place.
“Crate, can you sense him?” I mindlinked Crater, who ran beside me in his massive, silver-furred wolf form with seven tails. If this weren’t war, I would’ve admired his form—it looked so much like my mate’s.
“No, but he’s somewhere behind that fog,” he replied.
We stopped, the others halting with us. In wolf form, I could barely see through the thick, cursed fog.
Then it happened—growls erupted as rogues and Lycans emerged from the mist. They were finally showing themselves. Today would end the Lycans’ reign of violence. Today, good would triumph over evil.
Across the clearing, they stood waiting for us.
What a foolish move—they underestimated us. The Lycans and rogues stepped aside, revealing who I believed to be Logan himself. But I didn’t see Keira’s wolf form. My own wolf felt uneasy, snarling restlessly.
“Is that him, Crater?” I asked. His wolf nodded.
I howled—a signal for the war to begin. On my cue, both sides charged.
I had only one target. “Crater, find Rose! Leave this to me. The rest of you—kill any rogue or Lycan in your path!” I ordered.
I knew Logan wanted me dead first. He knew mates were a werewolf’s greatest weakness. If he killed me, he could break Selene completely.
Before he could strike, I leapt and sank my teeth into his neck, forcing him to the ground. He sprang back up, but I lunged again, clawing deep into his side.
He leapt at me, trying to bite my ear, but I dodged and kicked him hard with my back legs, sending him flying. I charged again, claws bared. He whimpered.
This? This was the feared leader of the Lycans? Something felt off. Very off.
“I’ll end your pathetic life right now!” I snarled—but froze when his wolf smiled.
“Long live Master Logan!” he cried… then collapsed unconscious.
Right after, a howl ripped through my mind—a howl of pure pain.
I turned sharply toward the direction of the Silver Moon Pack territory. My heart dropped.
Bullshit! My mate!
I looked back at the Lycan I’d fought—his face had changed, no longer looking like before. The painful howl echoed again in my mind.
“Shit! Kuya Dwight! They tricked us! Rose isn’t here! I tortured one of the rogues—he said Logan isn’t even in this battle! He’s in Silver Moon territory, and he’s going to kill my sister! Go to Selene—now! I’ll follow as soon as I can!” Crater’s furious voice rang through the link.
I didn’t waste a second. I sprinted back toward the Pack House at full speed. I would protect my mate—no matter what. Logan would not lay a single claw on Selene… especially since she carried our pup.
The battlefield was littered with dead rogues and Lycans, but my mind was focused solely on Selene.
“Alphas! Take charge here! I’m heading back to my territory—Logan isn’t here!” I shouted. They agreed without hesitation.
Suddenly, a rogue blocked my path.
I growled so fiercely that he trembled. I didn’t have time to waste on him—I’d rip his head off if needed.
“No, Alpha! Don’t waste your time here. You need to save our Luna and your unborn pup. I’ll handle this one,” Lester said as he stepped forward.
I nodded and left the rogue to him. I ran faster than I ever had before, pushing my wolf’s energy to the limit.
Faster, Light! Faster! We need to save our mate! I urged mentally.
The moment he realized our mate was in danger, my wolf surged forward even faster.
Please, Selene… be strong. I can’t lose you or our pup. Stay strong until I come home.
“I love you, my gorgeous Luna… please be safe.”
