Chapter 77 - The Alpha’s Goddess

~CALLIE'S P.O.V~

I awoke from the sound of the curtains being yanked open, causing the sun to brightly shine down on my face.

"Rise and shine, sleepy head!" An overly cheery voice hollered out.

"JADE GO AWAY!" I screamed as I pulled the blanket over my head, just for her to yank it off me completely.

"Get up! Gunner said you needed an escort to the doctor's office."

"No, I don't!" I said as I covered my head with the pillow, trying to make the room as dark as it was before my eyes were rudely awoken by the bright sun.

"Get up lazy ass!" Jade said as she jumped onto the bed before she started bouncing up and down.

"UGH GET OFF!" I hollered while trying to kick her, only for her to grab ahold of my foot and pull me down the bed instead.

"LET ME GO J!"

"Nope, Alpha command." She said with a laugh.

"I can command you too!" I countered.

"Don't you dare!" She said while grabbing her chest and collapsing next to me.

"You're so dramatic," I replied, laughing. "Where are my mates anyway?" I asked when I realized I had gone to bed before them and managed to wake up after them and they were not here.

"Um, I guess they had to make a trip to one of the businesses for a meeting or something. I am not sure." She said with a shrug.

"Okay, so why send you? I am a big girl and can make it to the doctor's office for my stupid results myself."

"I guess because they didn't want you to go alone. I don't know, but I am here, so get up and let's get to moving around."

"Fine, Mom!"

"Heck, I might as well be your mom!" She said as she pushed me with her foot to get out of bed, making us both belly laugh.

I stretched my arms above my head, a wave of sickness hitting me with full force.

"Oh, crap!" I yelled before jumping up and running to the bathroom. I wish I could say this was the first and only time. But over the last few weeks, I have been sick most days. I narrowed it down to overexerting myself every day and then also the stress of this last week alone.

"Are you okay in there?" Jade asked while tapping on the bathroom door. When I was done emptying my stomach acid into the toilet, I could finally answer her.

"Yeah, all good. Just have been sick a lot lately is all."

"Hmm, are you pregnant?"

"Don't joke like that, I am far too young to be pregnant," I said while opening the bathroom door.

"So, you've been using protection then?" She asked.

"I mean, no, but they do pull out."

"Hmm, because that is so effective," Jade said, laughing.

"I am not pregnant; I have just been exerting too much power lately." I tried countering, but now I couldn't stop asking myself that same question. Was I pregnant?

"Well, there is only one way to find out! Let's get downstairs to see the blood test results, surely it will show!"

My heart began to pound in my chest. What the fuck am I going to do if I was pregnant? I mean, obviously, I would be a mom, but I am only 18, and just a few months ago I thought I was 16, I was still a child myself. But if I was pregnant, I did this to myself by not using protection. Adult actions become adult responsibilities.

As we made our way down the elevator my mind kept reeling. Surely, I would've sensed being pregnant. Hell, I sensed Ingrid's conception. How would I not sense my self if I were pregnant also? As we walked in, the doctor's face lit up.

"Good morning, Luna. We have your blood results. Let's go into a consultation room, shall we?" I gulped but followed her anyhow. Okay, a moment of truth, I thought to myself as the doctor closed the door and started reading the documents in her hands.

"So, we show that you have a parasite that is invading your personal space."

"Parasite?" I asked.

"Oh man Cal, you did eat that raw meat!" Jade said, laughing. Shit, I forgot about consuming raw meat. I cannot sit and lie; it was so good and thinking about it now made my mouth water with desire. However, my stomach churned in disgust at what I got from it. The doctor only nodded.

"It is a good kind of parasite." The doctor stated.

"How is any parasite good? How do we get rid of it?" I asked.

"Oh, it will come out on its own, within 2-4 months I suspect."

"2 to 4 months? I have to live with this parasite inside of me for that long?"

"Indeed, you do. Let's take a peek at it, shall we?" She asked as she moved a machine closer to me.

"What is that?" I asked curiously.

"That's an ultrasound machine," Jade said with a smile plastered across her face.

The doctor rolled it over to my bedside before taking a seat next to me.

"Lay back and lift your shirt up slightly for me." She said as she put this jelly-like stuff on a probe. I did as she said while watching her carefully.

"This may be a smidge cold." The doctor said as she placed the probe on my belly, making me flinch a little at the coldness. She started moving it around while softly talking to herself.

"Well, I am seeing more than one." She stated.

"I have more than one parasite? Man, the raw meat wasn't worth that much!" I cried out, making the doctor giggle. She then turned the ultrasound machine towards us so we could take a look. Instantly, Jade gasped before screaming out excitedly.

"What am I looking at?" I asked dumbly.

"The reason your wolf will not shift."

I looked between the doctor and the screen for a moment, still not completely understanding.

"You see this right here?" She asked while circling a blob on the screen.

"I do."

"And then do you see this right here?" She asked again, circling the other blob.

"Yes, they must be parasites, right?" I asked, making Jade laugh hysterically.

"Well, yes. But as I stated before the good kind."

"How is any parasite good?"

"This right here is baby A, and this right here is baby B." She said, going between the blobs on the screen once again.

Her words hit me like a ton of bricks.

"A baby?" I asked with a shaky breath.

"Two babies. Non-identical twins. Congratulations Luna, you're pregnant." The doctor said before Jade squills again.

"Oh, Gunner and Leo are going to be mad that they weren't here for this!" She said before taking out her phone to take pictures.

Holy shit, Gunner and Leo. My face must've mirrored how horrified I felt because it made the doctor address me again.

"Luna, are you okay?" She asked. I took a deep breath before pulling myself together again.

"How will we know who the dad is?" I asked with tears in my eyes. I was sleeping with both Gunner and Leo. It could be either of them. A soft smile tugged at her lips.

"Well, this one here seems to be growing at a different rate than the other. I sense this one is feeding on your blood, while the other is not."

"So, Leonidas?" I asked.

"If what I suspect is correct, this one, which is baby B, is Gamma Leonidas's baby, while this one, which is baby A, is Alpha Gunner's baby."

"I am pregnant by both of them?"

"I believe so. I'd like you to come back for more testing since they are already growing at an accelerating speed, so I think within a week we can do the testing to know for sure about that. But I can tell you from the blood draw that one is male, and one is female. I am not sure which is which just yet."

"Do you think that Gunner's baby is a male?" I asked dumbly.

"It could be, but how about you coming back in a week, and we can do another ultrasound to see if they have grown enough to know the genders of them? Normal werewolf pregnancies are 4 months, but with their growth rate already and you being a goddess, I think your pregnancy will be a lot less than a normal wolf pregnancy, which is why we will monitor closely."

"Okay," I said, still stunned and in a dazed state at all the information being thrown my way.

"I will give you a moment to yourself. I will see you in one week for a follow-up appointment. Okay?"

I shook my head in agreement before she left the room, leaving Jade and me alone.

"I'm pregnant," I said with tears threatening to fall. I don't know if it was tears of happiness or tears from being absolutely terrified.

"With twins." She responded.

"I am having two babies," I said as it finally dawned on me.

"Holy shit! The legend!!!" Jade nearly screamed.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Remember the legend Azalea said before she died, about how there would be a birth of twins from different dads or whatever that would be born soon?"

"Oh god," I said as it dawned on me, she did say that! And then another thing pulled at my heart.

"Arthur," I said aloud, making Jade's face contort into confusion. She wasn't around when he said what he said to us just yesterday.

"He knew." I immediately stated.

"He knew you were pregnant before you did?" She asked, surprised.

"He had to have known. We need to find my mates."

"Wait, calm down, let's enjoy the news. Let's not stress over anything right now, Cal."

I looked over at her with terror written on my face.

"He said we would be visited by him soon because he doesn't want to miss another legendary rebirth. What could he have meant? Does he want my babies?" I asked, fear laced in my voice.

"I am not sure, but we can't worry about the what-ifs, Callie. We should rejoice. Your mates shouldn't find out about becoming dads because you are panicked. This should be a bittersweet moment for them. We should do a cute reveal."

Her words helped to calm me. She is right. Plus, I am a Goddess. I am more powerful than he can ever wish to be. He would never succeed even if he wanted to. I took a deep breath before fully composing myself.

"What do you have in mind?" I asked once my nerves were under control, and I was able to pull myself together.

"I think we should get them shirts made and have them wear them tonight for dinner. That way, they could be surprised when putting them on and then the pack can also find out if they see it?"

"Okay, well, let's go get them from the local boutique," I responded.

As we left the hospital, my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID. Realizing it was Gunner.

"Hello?" I said, answering the call.

"Hey babe, you’re on speaker, me and Leo just wanted to see how the visit went. You went, right? Jade forced you to go?"

"Duh I did, I told you I had it under control,” Jade said loud enough for him to hear through the phone.

"Yes, I went."

"Any news?"

"Yeah, we got some news."

"What's wrong?" He asked in a concerned voice.

"Oh, nothing bad, I just need to relax more and not overexert myself, stay hydrated, you know stuff like that."

"Okay, good. We were worried. Well, hey, we have meetings all day here at the hotel, but we will be back around dinner time. Are you okay with being alone today?"

"She isn't alone, she has me!" Jade yelled out again.

"Am I on speaker?" He asked.

"Nope, just loud," Jade replied to him, laughing.

"I will be fine babe, I will see y'all when y'all get home. Try not to work too hard. I love you both."

"Love you too baby," Gunner replied when a scream echoed in the background. "I LOVE YOU TOO!" Coming from Leo himself, making me smile.

"Alright, see you both for dinner. Be safe. Bye."

"Bye." They both replied at the same time before the call was disconnected.

The rest of the day went by fairly quickly. We went to the local mall and had a nice shopping spree. I may have gone overboard in buying both genders' clothes since I knew what they were. I also bought all the necessary items we would need, having them delivered to the rooms I plan to make into nurseries for both babies before dinner. I also paid extra for them to put the cribs up and any other items needing to be assembled so that all we needed to do was arrange the furniture how we wanted and decorate. By the end of the day, we had gotten everything we would possibly need for the twins. Shopping wasn't the men's idea of fun, but Jade loved to shop, so it was nice to spend that quality time with her as well as doing something that would need to be done sooner rather than later.

I looked down at my cart full of items when I suddenly felt a small flutter in my stomach, causing me to stop mid-tracks.

"I felt one move," I said in disbelief, looking down at my stomach.

If I had been paying attention, I would have noticed my flat stomach having a small pooch, but with all that had been going on, my figure was the least of my concerns.

"Really, OH MY GOD, I can’t wait to feel my niece and nephew move around in there!" Jade nearly screamed out at the top of her lungs, making me smile again.

"Let's go check to see if they are done with the shirts. We need to get back and put all this inside before they get home and see it. We don't want to ruin the surprise before we can even give it." I said while moving towards the check-out line.

Once we checked out of the last baby store, we left the mall, going back to the boutique where we had the shirts made. When we got there, the lady was wrapping them up.

"Ah, perfect timing. I just finished." She stated.

"Perfect. Thank you." I said before paying and leaving to go home. It was getting close to nighttime, so we had limited time to hide all of the evidence we had bought today. When we arrived, the workers were just finishing assembling the items we bought and were leaving. We quickly put the bags in the rooms before my mates got home.

"Okay Jade, I am going to go shower, you go get ready and we can meet back at the dining hall."

"Sounds perfect. Your biological family is still here, so I literally cannot wait to see everyone's reaction." She said, enthusiastically.

Jade parted ways in time for the men to arrive.

"Hey, how was the hotel meeting?" I asked before placing a kiss on both of their cheeks.

"Good, glad to be home though," Leo said before kissing my forehead and walking away to put his stuff on the counter.

"How was your day with Jade?" Gunner asked, while also kissing my forehead as he walked in.

"It was great actually. We bought you both shirts to wear for dinner tonight."

"Oh yeah? What's the special occasion?" Gunner then asked.

"Oh, you know, my family's last day here before returning to the royal palace."

They both had suspicious looks on their faces before they went to shower. Gunner used one shower while Leo used another. They finished at relatively the same time. They put some jeans on and their socks and shoes before reaching for the shirts I had in my hand.

"Nope, close your eyes. Both of you." I said.

"How am I supposed to get dressed with my eyes closed?" Gunner asked.

"You're both only missing a shirt, and I was going to put them on for you."

"Fine.” He said before closing his eyes.

I put the shirts on them both and moved their bodies so that they faced one another rather than a mirror or me. I wanted to capture their reaction to reading the other shirt. I grabbed my phone and pressed the record button so that I could capture their reaction on tape to show Jade later.

"Okay, y'all can open your eyes."

They both opened their eyes, looking at one another confused, before Leo registered the shirt first.

"Daddy #1?" He said out loud, more like a question rather than a statement.

"Daddy #2?" Gunner then said, reading Leo's shirt. Both not completely understanding. The meaning went right over their heads. Leo repeated it before his eyes bulged and he turned to face me.

"You're pregnant?" He asked, stunned.

"Surprise!" I hollered out. Gunner then registered the shirts as having a deeper meaning.

"You found out at the doctor today?" Gunner asked, still surprised. I shook my head up and down in response.

"Holy shit." Leo then said.

"So that is why Emery wouldn't shift. It would harm the baby." Gunner said in a knowing voice.

"Babies. But yes, exactly." I corrected him.

"Babies as in more than one baby?" Leo asked next, me shaking my head yes.

"One is a boy; one is a girl. They are nonidentical twins."

"Holy shit," Gunner said, repeating what Leo stated earlier.

"Doctor Sara said that she suspects this to be a much faster pregnancy than a normal werewolf pregnancy. She is thinking of anywhere between 2 to 4 months in gestation. The babies are already growing at a significant speed. She said one was showing different growth rates, so she thinks that it is part vampire." I said, looking at Leo. "While the other is growing at a little bit slower rate, which makes her think it is a werewolf." I finished saying before looking over at Gunner.

"Holy shit." They both said in unison this time.

"She wants me to return in a week for more testing. She thinks with this growth rate we will be able to tell which one is which by then."

"There is so much we need to do. We need to go get cribs and get clothes and diapers and-"

"It's done. I had some spare time today while you were both busy with work. We just have to arrange the new nurseries how we want them."

"You did this all by yourself?" Gunner asked.

"Well, no, Jade was with me. Plus, I paid extra for them to deliver the big items today and assemble them for us. I know there's a lot of information to take in, it took me a while to wrap my brain around it."

"Does anyone else know?" Gunner asked.

"No. I figured we could announce it tonight with your shirts and for those who don't catch on, we can verbally announce it at the end of dinner?" I said while Gunner shook his head yes in agreement.

Leo swiftly walked up to me, scooping me in his arms before kissing me passionately.

"I am so happy; I couldn't have asked for better news." He said before placing me on the ground.

Gunner then walked over, taking me in his arms for a big hug as he held onto me tightly before kissing the top of my head.

"This is a blessing." He said with a smile plastered on his face.

I wouldn't break the news of what kind of twins they are or their meaning. Today we will cherish the love we feel at finding out. After giving them some time to get over the initial shock of the news, I grabbed the shirt I had made for myself and put it on. We then all headed down to the dining hall to eat dinner with the pack.

Upon entering, Jade’s face lit up with excitement before she ran over to hug both of my mates.

"I am so excited!" She whisper-yelled.

"I can tell," Gunner said with a small laugh.

We made our way to our normal table and took our seats.

"Hey mom, Hey dad. Hey Dax." I said with a big smile on my face.

"What are you so cheery about?" Daxton asked.

"Oh nothing, just happy. Can't I be happy?"

"Well, of course, you can, but like, why are you?"

"Leave your sister alone." Our mom said before going back to her conversation with our father. None of them saw my shirt. But leave it to Skila who was seated next to my mom to random squill, making everyone around her jump. Laken grabbed her, terrified that something had happened.

"Ski, are you okay? What happened?"

"Did none of you read Callie's shirt!?" She said, looking at everyone sitting around her, suddenly all eyes zeroing in on my shirt.

"And then there were five." Daxton read out loud, still confused. "I don't get it."

"Read Gunner and Leo's shirts now." She said it like everyone else was slow.

"Daddy #1." My mom said, reading Gunner's shirt.

"Daddy #2," Jasmine said, reading Leo's shirt.

"Okay, maybe it's like some freaky inside joke. Gunner was her first mate and Leo was her second." Daxton said before Skila smacked him on the forehead.

"Dummy, read them all again."

"Fine. Daddy #1, Daddy #2, And then there were 5."

"Now how many people are there?"

"Three duh."

"And now there are 5! It's not rocket science. Callie is pregnant with twins! EKKK!!" Skila nearly screamed as she bounced in her seat, clapping her hands excitedly. Making Jade laugh at the slowness of my brother.

"You're pregnant?" Dax asked, looking at me stunned.

"Surprise!" I shouted, making everyone smile at my response.

Everyone gave congratulations before we finished eating dinner with constant chatter about new babies coming. At the end of dinner, Gunner made a public announcement to the pack members, who didn't overhear our decision. Everyone was just as excited as our families were, congratulating us.

Once dinner was done, we went to our floor to get the rooms in order and call it a night. Jade decided to stay over and help with the organization. The housekeepers did all the laundry, allowing us to put it all away as well as rearrange the baby's furniture. We had both rooms looking perfect. Jade had decorated the rooms to her standard, which was fine by me. I wasn't the best decorator, so it was a relief to have someone like her to help. We then called it a night and went to bed.

***

The next week flew by, we were now at our next doctor's appointment. She had drawn more blood the day prior and so when we arrived, she was ready with the ultrasound machine. When the babies were on the monitor, Leo started to tear up.

"They have grown significantly. Here in this sac, you can see baby A. It is the little boy. And if you look at this sac at baby B, it is the little girl."

"Why is the girl slightly larger?” Gunner asked, amazed.

"Because she is part vampire, she feeds on Callie's blood as well as food consumption."

"Isn't that dangerous? Can it harm Rai?" Leo asked, terrified.

"It could be alarming. This is why we will keep a close eye on Callie's hemoglobin levels, which are her blood levels. I have ordered a supply of blood to be on-site if we were to need any transfusions. The baby may take a lot, but we can also give a lot to keep mommy and baby healthy and safe for the term of the pregnancy."

"And how long are we looking at?" Gunner asked next.

"I am leaning towards the 2-month mark with how rapidly they are both growing." All of us shook our heads in understanding.

"So does that mean that Baby A, the boy, is a wolf?" Gunner asked another question.

"It does." The doctor replied. All of us were now smiling at the news we had received.

"Alright, if that is all the question, I want you to go home, rest and get some food in that belly to feed those babies."

"Thank you, doctor," I said before she exited the room.

"Well, we have our next Alpha," Gunner said while rubbing my bare tummy which had grown significantly in the week that had passed.

"That we do," I replied with a smile.

I wiped what was remaining from the ultrasound off of my stomach before pulling my shirt down and leaving to go home for the remainder of the day.

I was for sure pregnant with a boy and a girl, and I couldn't have been happier with the news. New beginnings were on the horizon, and I was happier than I ever expected I could be. My life felt more complete than it ever did before. My family was complete. My heart was complete. We were complete.
