Chapter 201 Kaden's POV

Chapter 201 Kaden's POV

Fred's voice angry already we heard Dr. Chen go downstairs to greet him.

"Fred. I wasn't expecting you back so soon."

"Obviously since you didn't answer your phone all afternoon. Where were you?"

"At the office seeing patients. My phone was on silent during sessions-"

"Liar. I called the office. They said you left early. So where were you really?"

"I had an appointment personal business-"

"What personal business? What are you hiding from me?"

Through the crack in the closet door, I could see them now. Fred advancing on Dr. Chen. Her backing away.

"I'm not hiding anything-"

"I saw you, this morning getting out of Mark Wilson's car. That associate from my firm. Getting out of his car in front of your office."

"He just gave me a ride! My car wouldn't start, and he was passing by, so he offered-"

"You're sleeping with him. Aren't you? Sleeping with my colleague making a fool of me."

"No! Fred, I would never-"

The first slap echoed through the house Dr. Chen cried out, stumbling backward.

"Don't lie to me! I saw how he looked at you! How you smiled at him!"

"He was just being kind! That is all!"

Another slap harder this time.

Then Fred grabbed her hair, yanked her head back. "You are my wife mine and if you ever even look at another man-"

He punched her in the stomach Dr. Chen collapsed, gasping for air.

Upstairs, I heard the children's door open. They must have come home from school during the confrontation.

"Daddy?" A small voice the daughter. "Daddy, stop! You're hurting Mommy!"

"Go to your room! Both of you! Now!"

"But Mommy-"

"I SAID GO!"

The children ran. I heard their door slam. Heard muffled crying. Fred turned back to Dr. Chen, who was trying to crawl away.

"Where do you think you're going?"

He kicked her in the ribs she screamed. "You don't get to cheat on me and just walk away. You don't get to make a fool of me."

Another kick.

"Kaden," Elara whispered. "We have to stop this now."

"The recording-"

"We have enough we need to stop him before he kills her."

She was right this had gone far enough we burst out of the closet.

Fred spun around, shocked. "What the hell-"

Dr. Chen looked up at us, blood running from her mouth. "Please help me."

Fred's shock turned to rage. "You brought people into my house? To spy on me? You vindictive bitch-"

He raised his hand to strike her again I moved faster than he could react grabbed his wrist twisted it hard.

Fred screamed as bones cracked. "Let go of me! This is my house! My wife! You have no right-"

"I have every right as an Alpha as someone who protects the innocent."

I twisted harder. "You're a coward. A bully. You beat your wife terrify your children that ends now."

Fred tried to punch me with his free hand. I dodged easily and drove my fist into his face.

His nose broke with a satisfying crunch blood sprayed.

"You can't do this! I'll have you arrested! Sue you! Destroy you!"

"Try it." I hit him again and again. Systematically beating him the way he'd beaten his wife for years.

He fought back tried to but he was used to fighting someone smaller and weaker. Someone who wouldn't fight back.

Against an Alpha? He didn't stand a chance.

Finally, he collapsed unconscious bleeding. Broken. Just like he'd left his wife so many times.

I stood over him, breathing hard. "Elara. Call the police tell them we have evidence of domestic violence and assault."

"Already calling."

Dr. Chen was crying sobbing with relief and pain. "Thank you, thank you oh God, thank you."

Elara went to her helped her sit up carefully. "It's over. You're safe now. He'll never hurt you again."

Upstairs, the children's door opened they crept down cautiously.

"Mommy?" The boy's voice. "Is Daddy... is he dead?"

"No, sweetie. He's just sleeping. These nice people are helping us. Everything's going to be okay now."

The children ran to their mother, hugging her carefully around her injuries.

And I stood over Fred's unconscious body, feeling satisfaction mixed with disgust.

This was what evil looked like not monsters or dark magic. Just a man who hurt someone weaker because he could.

Just a coward who called it love.
