Chapter Seventy-nine
Faelen’s POV
The days after the victory seemed to blend together in a whirlwind of activity and emotion.
It was as if the world had shifted, and everything I had known, everything I had feared, had been replaced by something entirely new… a future I had never dared imagine.
I woke up next to Hunter every morning, and with each passing day, it felt more and more like a dream.
I could hardly believe that I, Faelen… the girl who had once been a slave, a spy, a tool for manipulation… was now beside him.
I hadn’t expected any of it. I thought, perhaps, that I would remain on the fringes of his world, a pawn in the game, but Hunter had changed that.
He had proven his loyalty to me, time and again, and I had returned it with all my heart. We were one with each other, in a way that felt right.
We were connected… living side by side, laughing together, even sharing those quiet moments that spoke a lot without a single word.
Since the night of the celebration of victory, I’d felt as if Hunter has something in mind to tell me. Sometimes he would start, but then stop and just kissed me, not saying anything after that.
I just couldn’t help but think that he had something in mind in the nearest future, I had no idea the possibility of what it could be, but I was almost sure it was one of his sweet surprises.
Hunter was full of that… surprises.
Then, one evening, as we sat together in the quiet dining hall… where we were having a private dinner… I could see something different in Hunter’s eyes.
It wasn’t just the admiration, or the tenderness. It was deeper. I could feel the weight of what he was about to say.
“Faelen,” he began, his voice quiet, but intense. “I’ve never been the type to talk much about my feelings. I’ve always tried to control everything, to keep my emotions in check. But with you, I can’t help it. I can’t hold back anymore.”
He stepped closer to me, his hand reaching for mine. My heart began to race as I met his gaze, waiting for him to continue.
“I know I’ve made mistakes. I know I’ve been… distant, maybe even cold. But I’ve never wanted to hurt you. And if anything, all I’ve wanted since I met you is to see you happy, to make you feel like you belong. And now, standing here with you, I can’t imagine a life without you in it.”
His words made my chest tighten, and for a moment, I couldn’t speak. I had never heard him say anything like this before.
Hunter, the man who had always been so confident, so sure of his power, was now standing before me with a vulnerability I had never seen before.
“I love you, Faelen,” he said, his voice raw with emotion. “I love you in a way I never thought I could love anyone. You’ve brought out the best in me, and I promise to always respect you, to stand by you, and to never let you feel like you’re less than anything. You’re my equal. And you deserve nothing less than all of me.”
I didn’t know how to respond to that. My heart was pounding in my chest, my mind racing. And then, without another word, he dropped to one knee before me.
I gasped, my breath catching in my throat as I watched him reach for something in his pocket.
“I know it may seem sudden, but after everything we’ve been through… after everything you’ve done for me and my pack… I can’t wait any longer. Faelen, will you marry me? The words finally came out.”
He held up a ring, simple but beautiful… just like the promise he was making. Tears gathered up in my eyes as I looked at him, unable to find words.
My heart was full of so many emotions, it felt like it might burst. I had never expected this, never even imagined it would happen.
But standing here, in this moment, everything just felt right. “Yes,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “Yes, Hunter. I’ll marry you.”
The moment those words left my lips, Hunter took my finger and slipped the ring through, which fit like it had been made specially for me.
Then he stood, pulling me into his arms. His lips found mine in a kiss so gentle, so full of promise and raw love.
That moment, I was the happiest person living. All that has happened these past weeks wasn’t enough, I hadn’t even fully digested them, and then this.
My wildest dream coming to life right before my eyes.
In the days that followed, things moved quickly. We didn’t want to wait any longer. The pack was jubilant with the news of our engagement, and the celebration that followed was one of the largest I’d ever seen.
The pack had never been so united, so full of hope. We had defeated our enemies, we had claimed our land, and now, we were starting a new chapter as a family.
Hunter and I were married within a week. The ceremony was beautiful, simple but meaningful, with the whole pack in attendance.
I wore a dress made from the finest silks, the colors matching the blue of the sky just before dusk. Hunter stood beside me, his pride in me visible.
And when we exchanged vows, my heart swelled with love, knowing that I was no longer just the girl from Belladonna. I was Faelen, the Luna of the Howle Wulf Pack.
The celebration that followed was one for the books. The entire pack came together, food and drink flowing freely, laughter and music filling the air.
It was a party like no other, one where the past was forgotten and only the future mattered. I danced with Hunter, surrounded by the people who had become my new family.
It was everything I had never known I needed… and now, I couldn’t imagine life any other way.
In the months that followed, the neighboring pack, Steeprock, tried to test our strength, but we were ready.
With our newfound wealth and power, they had no chance. They were swiftly neutralized, and the peace that followed was more than just the absence of conflict.
It was a peace forged In the strength of our bond, both as Alpha and Luna, and as partners in every sense of the word.
With the gold we had discovered, we were able to build our wealth, our influence. Our territory expanded, and with it, the Howle Wulf pack flourished.
We were stronger than we had ever been, and our relationship, built on love, trust, and mutual respect, became the cornerstone of everything we had achieved.
I couldn’t have imagined this when I first arrived at the Howle Wulf pack. But now, standing beside Hunter as his queen, I felt like I had found my place in the world.
Not just as a leader, but as a partner, a wife, and eventually… as a mother-to-be too.
Being married to Hunter was everything I’d never expected it to be… and more. Our love was tested at every turn, but with each challenge, it only deepened.
We learned to trust each other more. We were no longer just two people with a strong connection… we were a team, bound by love and the responsibility as Alpha and Luna.
Hunter worked tirelessly to prove himself… not just to me, but to the entire pack. He shed his old reputation as a hard playboy, a man who cared only for pleasure and his own desires.
He had changed entirely from the man I first met… he was thoughtful, patient, and considerate. And every day I fell more deeply in love with the man he had become.
Our pack had grown more united than I could’ve ever imagined. And one of the most beautiful things about all of this was seeing Caleb find his own path to happiness.
Caleb had always been a constant presence at Hunter’s side, but I knew something was missing in his life, something he had longed for but never fully allowed himself to truly pursue.
That all changed when Raid, my best friend, returned to the pack with us and settled down.
Raid, with her blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, was beautiful in a way completely different from mine.
Her strength, her kindness, and sense of loyalty were things that had always drawn me to her, and now, watching her interact with Caleb, I could see that same spark between them.
It didn’t take long before they became inseparable. Their love was undeniable, a quiet, beautiful thing that only grew stronger with time.
I couldn’t have been happier for them. It was like a dream to see my best friend, once a slave in Alpha Zodd’s pack, now finding love in a place where she had never expected it.
And Caleb, the man who had been like a brother to me, finally found someone who loved him as he deserved to be loved.
Hunter and I stood by them both, watching as their relationship blossomed. It was a beautiful thing to witness, and in many ways, it was one more symbol of how far we had all come.
As for Hunter and me, our life together only continued to get better. I found out I was pregnant soon enough, and it felt like the final chapter of a long journey had been written.
I’ll never forget the joy I saw on Hunter’s face when I told him the news. We had both been so focused on the pack, on our leadership, that we hadn’t given much thought to starting a family.
But now, with the news of our twins on the way, everything changed. Our love for each other had created this new life, and we couldn’t wait to welcome our children into the world.
Months later, I gave birth to two beautiful twins, a boy and a girl. They were perfect…healthy, strong, with Hunter’s dark eyes and my red hair.
Our family was complete.
It had been weeks since the birth of our twins, Hunter and I had settled into our new roles as parents, our love stronger than ever.
But even as I looked at the future with hope and excitement, there were moments of quiet reflection.
That evening, as the sun settled below the horizon, I sat with Hunter on the balcony of our home.
It was just the two of us, and the sounds of our children’s soft breaths in the background.
“Do you ever think about how far we’ve come?” I asked, my head resting against his shoulder.
Hunter chuckled, his arm around me tightening. “Every day. I mean, who would’ve thought we’d be here? You, me, the twins, our pack… It’s all more than I ever imagined.”
“I never thought I’d have this,” I said softly. “A family… A home.”
He turned his head, his lips brushing against my temple. “You deserve it, Faelen. You’ve done so much for me, for all of us. I’ll never be able to thank you enough.”
“You already have,” I replied, looking up at him. “You love me. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”
Hunter smiled, his blue eyes shining with sincerity as he reached to kiss me. “And I always will.”
And so the world disappeared before us, as we got lost in the ecstasy of our love, driving us into a happily ever after life.
The End.
