Celyn bare
Celyn bare
Dali perched outside the clinic like a bird, pacing from left to right, waiting patiently for Celyn to step out before she could make her way inside. It was unclear to her the nature of Kiara’s health right now, if she was out of danger or not, if she needed anything at all. Dali had absolutely no clue.
Then, at that moment Dali was walking around, waiting, biting on her fingers, she saw Marisol making her way out.
“I need you inside,” Marisol said, turning away towards the clinic at that moment.
Dali, seeing this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, jumped into it and followed right behind Marisol.
As they walked towards the room Kiara was kept in, Dali saw Celyn and Alexa standing outside. Celyn had her blanket wrapped around her and tears flowing from her eyes. As for Alexa, she stood at the side, silent and waiting.
Deidre stood there, trying her best to calm Celyn down. But of course, her efforts were useless.
This whole scene caused a great deal of confusion to Dali. She examined the faces of everyone before turning to face Marisol, who kept walking without even mentioning anything to her.
“Marisol?”
“Kiara has a feral reaction to waking up,” she finally turned to face Dali. She was the only one wearing a calm expression. “And as you’re her sire, you are the only one that can fix this.”
“Why the fuck is she the only one that can fix this?” Celyn’s voice boomed from behind them, so loud that the healers going about their business had to pause momentarily.
The whole clinic fell into a silence. Ever since the tragedy, they had never seen this side of Celyn. She either had her blanket wrapped around her, walking around and taking care of only Kiara, and had absolutely nothing to do with others.
However, they suddenly heard her voice resounding, and for a moment, they were too stunned to react. Only standing there and watching.
Dali dropped her head instantly.
As for Marisol, what mattered to her was saving the woman who was locked in that specific room. However Celyn felt, why Celyn felt that way had nothing to do with her.
So she paid Celyn no mind. Not even answering her question.
This time, Alexa stepped forward. She grabbed her daughter’s hand. “Celyn, you have to understand…”
“Understand what?” Celyn asked, showing no desire to wait or to listen to anyone. “Why the fuck is she, the one who caused everything to happen, the one to fix it?”
She stepped forward and shoved Dali. “If you had listened to me, if you had followed my advice and just stayed fucking out with the healers, would any of us be dead? Would my mate be in that room losing her mind?”
“Why do you have to play the fucking hero?!” she yelled at her face, tears spilling.
That moment, Dali dropped to her knees. “I’m so sorry, Celyn.” She rubbed her hands together, tears sliding down her cheeks. “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry, Celyn. I do not deserve to be the one that can fix this. If I could, I would change things.”
“But you can’t!” she yelled. “You cannot go back and change things. You think making this village, casting spells, and helping people would clear your record?”
“No, Dali! You’re a fucking piece of shit and you’ll remain a piece of shit. And you cannot blame Chase forever because you knew that he was an asshole before you dived in, and even after I told you, even after Kiara told you to forget about him, you never did. You thought we were against your happiness with a man that only brought you sadness! You sick bitch!”
Dali only nodded her head. Frankly, she was everything Celyn was saying. She was the terrible person, the piece of shit, a sick bitch. She was everything. And there was nothing she could do to fix that.
Celyn was right. No matter how much good she did now, people still died. So many people died, and it was all her fault.
The things she did now were never to clear her record. She did it out of guilt and never to feel better about herself. She did it because she thought it was what was needed of her. No ulterior motives, no ego in the mix.
She was regretful.
And truthfully, she couldn’t keep blaming Chase every day because she knew he was exactly like that when she followed him. He was the terrible person, and she knew. He treated her so badly, and she still followed him. Why wouldn’t he completely kill everyone around her?
It was only terrible that so many people had to die for her to come into the light that he was the devil.
It was horrible.
And no matter the tears she spilled, nothing could change that.
And no matter how many sorries she said, she would never be able to acquire the forgiveness of her friend.
Marisol never thought Dali was not to be blamed. However, she was willing to move past it. The past happened. What mattered to her was the fact that Dali was willing to change. Though people died, those people cannot come back, no matter how much or how long you hang on to what she did.
As long as she felt sorry for what happened.
Yes, she did understand Celyn. And yes, she did not think Celyn was blowing things out of proportion. Marisol had lost a mate as well, and she had no one else to blame for what happened but herself. She understood how Celyn felt.
However, there was a time for everything. A time to lash out at Dali, and a time to give it a rest and let her save your mate.
Dali was guilty of all that she had been accused of, but she was also the savior they needed right now if Kiara had to be better.
“Celyn.” Marisol spoke up.
Celyn turned to face her. Celyn hated her too, but Marisol was not someone she could lash out at. Marisol would beat her up.
“Your emotions are validated, but if we need to help the woman you love, then you would let Dali go in there and do her thing.”
Celyn heaved heavily. This made sense to her. Hell, she was a healer too. She understood perfectly how this would work, but why? Just fucking why?
Why did she have to understand? Why did she have to stand in the same room with Dali and not want to kill her? Why does she always have to maintain her composure when she had been hurt by her best friend?
Why did she have to forgive Dali at some point?
Kiara is awake now. There’s a high possibility that she would get better. A possibility that she would be back to normal. Then what happens? She’s expected to forgive Dali just like that?
Because nobody will support her tantrums any longer.
They would call her childish. But none of them knows how hurt she is, and it has nothing to do with Kiara. It had more to do with Dali than Kiara. Dali was her best friend. Her soulmate.
How could she just throw everything away for a man? A fucking man that did not deserve it.
Dali eventually rose to her feet. She glanced one last time at Celyn before she opened the door and then took a step in.
The first thing she saw was Kiara, perched on the wall like a bat, her fangs long and her eyes the shade of red, hissing at her.
