Michelle's Final Transition - Part 2
Michelle's Final Transition - Part 2
Michelle woke up, feeling strong arms wrapped around her. She realized that it was Darius and turned around to look at him while he was sleeping. He wasn’t as pale as the other vampires, but maybe that was because he was a hybrid. Even though she knew vampires are normally cold-skinned, his skin didn’t feel as cold. Her eyes wandered from his hairline, over his brows, which seemed to look perfectly maintained, though he didn’t look like the kind to worry about that, further down his straight nose, and landed on his lips. She was looking longingly, like she wanted him to kiss her again, as if the kiss they shared earlier was not enough.
“Cher, you keep staring at me like that, and I won’t be able to hold myself back.” Her eyes shot up to his, beautiful gold eyes, blushing blood red. He reached up and moved a stray hair out of her face and hooked it behind her ear. “I have waited for you since the meeting. I felt your pull. All I wanted to do was find you and claim you as mine, and take you away from there. But I knew that would be the kind of thing that would win your heart over.” Michelle looked at him, not understanding. “Don’t get me wrong, Cher, I want to be with you, mate bond, pull to my bride, or even without. But I want to win your heart first. I know that this way, you will truly love me, as I am.”
“I already do, because you didn’t run when you saw who you were fated to be with. You stayed. You even stayed when you realized that I am not just a werewolf, but a Lycan, and an angel. Everyone else, apart from those you know are close to me, has treated me differently, bullied me, pushed me out like an outcast rogue.” He heard the sadness in her voice with the last part. Propping himself up on his elbow, he looked down at her, “You need to accept yourself, as you are, otherwise, you will never fully be who you are meant to be. I will help you through that journey, and so will Stella and the rest of the guys. We will all make sure” you know just how awesome you really are, just the way you are.” He leaned down and kissed her so gently that she knew his love for her was there before they felt the pull that night at the castle.
“You know, it is still dark out, and there is a curfew, so I am stuck here for the night.” Darius looked at her and smiled, “So, how about we start with the first lesson about accepting yourself?” HE sat up on the bed, and she followed his suit. “Do you accept the human form of your existence?” She looked at him, with an “obviously I do” look on her face, and he waited for her to answer with words. After a heartbeat, she knew, this was not going to go that easily. “Yes, I do, it is the only part everyone else is not scared of or freaked out by.” “Do you accept the Lycan form of your existence?” Without even thinking, she smiled, “Yes, without a doubt. Silver is the best part of me. We protect each other, and we protect others. She is my best friend, apart from Stella.” Silver felt the pride in Michelle’s words and melted at how much Michelle cared about her.
“Do you accept the angel part of your existence?” Darius knew that this would be a more difficult part for her to answer, as she had only gotten her grace the day before. “I do accept it, I just don’t understand it. I am afraid I will hurt someone with those abilities, and that I will be called a freak because of my wings.” He looked at her, seeing the sadness return to her eyes. Silver spoke to her, “Michelle, your wings are perfect, just like you. You are stronger as both a Lycan and an angel; it is what you were meant to be.” Darius could see that she was not paying attention to what he said, so he waited for a minute.
“Cher, I can only hope that Silver told you the same as what I am trying to tell you. Your wings, your angel part, it is beautiful. It is what completes you.” She looked up at him, “No, it was only a part of me that was missing, you…. You complete me.” Just as he moved to pull her into him for a hug, her eyes started glowing bright blue-white again, and her head shot back as she screamed. He pulled her to him and held her tight. After a few seconds, she collapsed in his arms again. He laid her down again, just as his phone rang. “Drake, she is ok, we were just working through her accepting all of herself. She started glowing again and just screamed for a few seconds and collapsed again. But she is ok, I got her.” Darius could feel that the person speaking to him was not fully Drake, but his wolf, and he had to calm him down.
“You sure that she is ok? Darius, I can’t feel her link.” He heard the warning in Drake’s voice. “Drake, she is my bride, I am her mate. I would never hurt her. And you of all people know that Silver will never allow anyone to hurt her. I am more scared of Silver than of you. I swear, she is ok. I think it is all part of her transition, about accepting who and what she is.” Drake seemed to relax a bit more. “Ok, I guess you’re right. See you guys later.” The call was cut off, and Darius lay down again next to Michelle, pulling her tight against him, burying his head in her neck, just inhaling her scent.
