Chapter 68 Taunting
Elena’s POV
“What would you like theme for the wedding to be?” the wedding organizer asked.
“Elena?” someone tapped me.
“Huh?” I said.
“She was asking about the theme for the wedding,” Clara said.
“Oh, sorry um, which one would you like?” I asked. The woman looked at me like I was crazy.
“I’m sorry, it’s just that this is your wedding, I can’t pick for you,” she muttered.
“Oh, it was my mistake,” I said and looked at Clara.
“Is there anyone you like?” I asked Clara.
“Elena,” she said.
“Okay okay, I will pick,” I said as I took the pictures from the woman’s hands.
They all looked wonderful and same.
I couldn’t focus on anything, not after seeing Ciara in the dressing room.
A shiver ran down my spine as I remembered what she said.
“So this is the girl,” she said as she sized me up. “You look so weak, I bet I could break you into two if I tried.”
“This is not real, you can’t be here,” I muttered.
“Oh I’m real alright,” she said as touched my shoulder.
“What happened to you?” she didn’t look like the Ciara I saw in my dreams, she was so happy and full of life, now she looked like darkness itself, her blue eyes were gone and it was only a pitch black circle that was left.
Her face darkened. “Life happened and it will happen to you.
She spat.
“No,” I said as I remembered what had happened to her, everyone had died, no they were killed by those people. “It’s not true.”
“Stop being so stupid, you think those people are gone? That they have died off? You must be more naive than I thought. They will come for you in this lifetime, just like they came for me.”
“In this lifetime?” I looked at her.
“You don’t even know what this is really about, you really are stupid. But don’t worry, I could help you, you just have to let me in.” she whispered in my ear.
“No,” I moved away from her. I would never do that. There was something wrong with her, she felt wrong.
“Then they will all die,” she said and vanished.
“Elena!” I was startled. “What?”
“I have been calling your name but you won’t answer,” Clara said. I looked at the wedding designer and she was looking at me weirdly.
“I’m sorry, I just need a moment,” I said as I stood up and went to the bathroom.
I looked in the mirror. Calm down Elena. I said to myself.
It’s going to be okay, Elena. Arya said.
Thank you. She has been awake lately and I could feel her presence much better now.
“Yes Elena calm down,” a voice said and Ciara moved out behind me.
She had only appeared once last week and I was happy that maybe I was just dreaming about it but I wasn’t.
“Why are you here? What do you want from?” I asked.
“You think I want to be here with you? You are too much of a weakling for me to enjoy my time with you but here I am. Why? Because you called for me.”
I frowned. “Call for you? I didn’t ask you to be here?”
“Oh I’m not talking about now, you did something before something that woke me up, I could feel the evil in you calling out to me, that darkness, that anger.”
“But I didn’t—” then I remembered that day at the coffee shop, the day Ashley had almost died. I was so angry and hateful. I had felt something awaken in me but I was wrong, I had woken up something. And that something was her.
“It was a mistake, I don’t want you here, now you please go away.”
She laughed loudly. “Foolish girl, you think it’s that easy and where is your thank you? If I was there that day, those men would have gotten to you and probably even killed you. You owe me your life.”
“I don’t, that was my power, I did all of that.” I said.
“True, it is your power but you don’t even know what that power is, if you don’t let me help you, it will consume you.” She said as she moved from my shoulder to the other.
“I already said no.”
“You owe me, Elena and I will not leave until my debt has been paid.”
“I owe you nothing.”
“You will pay back, or else history will repeat itself, do you wish to see how it ends?”
Before I could say no. She put her hands on my head and images flashed.I saw Liam, Clara, Sarah and Scott even Josh too all dead.
“No, Liam, please wake up,” I sobbed as I ran over to him.
He wasn’t moving at all.
“Please wake up,” I said and turned to Clara and Sarah. “I’m sorry, please, don’t leave me.”
I looked back at Ciara who was laughing hysterically.
“Stop this now!”
“There she is, I knew you had some fire in you but I can’t do anything, this will be your future whether you like it or not.”
I looked around and stepped back shaking my head. “No, I won’t be like you, I will keep them safe. No one is going to die.”
Her face darkened. “Do you think I wanted my family to die? Of course not, but you need to wake up Elena and accept fate, accept that you need me and then everything will be fine.”
“Nothing will change as long as I follow you,” I glared at you.
“Then I guess, they all die,” she smirked.I felt so much anger, I raised my hand to punch her.
“Get out!”
And then she was gone and so were the bodies. I had punched the mirror and my hand was bleeding.
“Elena?”
I turned and saw Clara standing at the entrance of the bathroom.
