Chapter 57 Waking up
Elena’s POV
I woke up with the worst headache ever.
Everything looked funny.
“She’s awake,” I heard someone say.
I looked around and my eyes finally focused, Liam was sitting in front of me.
“My head,” I groaned as I held my head. “What happened?”
Before Liam could answer I was already remembering. Ashley.
“Liam?” I said, trying to hold back my tears.
“It’s okay Elena” I burst into tears. I should have forgiven her and spent more time with her.
No. We should have gone to that stupid coffee shop, I should have told her we couldn’t go. If I did that, then she would have been alive.
“Elena stop crying, Ashley isn’t dead,” I raised my head up immediately.
“But I saw her,” I said.
“She had lost a lot of blood and was almost dead but we came just in time,” he sighed and ran his hand through his hair.
“Wait so Ashley is fine?”
“Yes, the doctor got the silver out of her system but she’s still unconscious and resting.”
I cried again.
We had a second chance to be sisters again.
Liam looked at me for a while.
I felt uncomfortable. “What is it?” I muttered.
“What happened in the bathroom Elena?”
I froze as I remembered that part and what I had done.
I was angry but I didn’t know how I managed to kill those two men.
“I—
“Clara! Elena is awake,” Sarah said as she peeped into the room.
I was so happy to see Sarah right now. I didn’t want to talk about what happened.
“You look horrible Elena,” Clara teased me.
“I missed you too, Clara.”
Liam left to go answer a call but I knew he wanted me to have my time with the girls.
“I know you don’t think the same way but I think Liam is right, you shouldn’t leave the pack anymore,” Clara muttered.
“Not you too, I know that bad people are after me because of something I have but I can’t just stay caged in the pack house.”
“You’re not caged and besides you have me and Sarah and sometimes Scott, when he’s not being you know Scott,” she said and I laughed a little.
“I know Liam is probably going to say the same thing but just hear him out,” she looked straight into my eyes.
“Okay, I will listen,” I said.
We joked around a bit and Sarah gave us the update on her friend, Amara.
“She’s basically grounded for life but she said she will take it rather than being kidnapped by some perverts,” Sarah shrugged.
“I know Liam would love to ground you too,” I said.
She scoffed. “Yeah he can try but I don’t think that will work, but I am staying on the low though, I think I have pushed my luck with my brother enough.”
“I think so too,” Clara said and we all laughed.
“I’ll be back,” Sarah said as she rushed outside of the room.
“So where am I exactly?” I looked around. “You are in the hospital in town,” Clara said.
“Oh, I thought Liam would have gone straight home and taken me to the clinic,” I said.
“Your sister had lost too much blood, if we had driven home well she wouldn’t have been alive and there was too much blood in the bathroom, Liam wasn’t sure if it was yours or the…”
I nodded, knowing what she was about to say.
“You can say it,” I muttered.
“It’s just that, I don’t know Elena,” she looked really confused and I didn’t blame her.
“What happened there?” she looked at me, concerned.
“I thought Ashley was dead and then I got really angry and I guess your moves from our training finally came out,” I laughed nervously, trying to convince her but I knew she wasn’t buying it.
I looked down at my fingers, the headache was barely there but it still felt like my head was about to explode.
“I guess so, maybe you can beat me in a fight now,” she said as she nudged me.
I smiled. I was happy she didn’t look at me funny or told me I was lying.
“Who knows maybe I can,” I said.
She talked some more before she left saying that I needed to rest.
I tried to sleep but my mind kept going back to the coffee shop and Ashley.
I wanted to go and meet her so badly but I couldn’t.
The door opened and Liam walked in.
“Hey,” I said as I sat up.
“How are you feeling now?” he looked at me.
“I’m better, no more headaches.”
“Okay,” he said and he gave me a really big paper bag.
“What’s this?” I said as I opened it.
“I knew you’d be hungry but I was not sure what you’d like.”
“So you got me everything?” I asked, shocked as I looked through the bag.
There was chicken soup and bread, some cupcakes and a lot of chocolate with some drinks.
“There wasn't a restaurant close by, so I just went to a small shop and got you your favorite, the chicken soup,” he said.
I stared at them for a long time.“Don’t you like them anymore?”
“Oh no, I do, it’s just a lot even for me.”
“You don’t have to finish it, you can keep some for tomorrow,” he said.
I nodded. “Okay,” I said as I began stuffing my face with food.
I didn’t think I was hungry until I started eating.
Liam was just sitting there, staring at me.
“Sorry, do you want some?” I held out a piece of bread.
“No, I’m good,” he smiled.
After I was done and tied up the remaining for later. I looked at Liam.
“I’m not sure what really happened yesterday, I thought they killed her and I was so angry that I just wanted to kill them too,” I muttered.
I wondered if he was disgusted by me now. I mean who would want a murderer as their mate.
“It’s fine Elena, you did it because you thought they took your sister away from you, if I were you, I’d probably torture them slowly,” he said.
“So you don’t think I’m a horrible person?”
“They are the horrible ones, they were ready to kill you and Ashley. You should never feel sorry for people like that.”
I nodded feeling a little bit better.
“Get some rest, Elena,” he said and I relaxed on my bed.
He stroked my hair and I stared into his beautiful black onyx eyes until I fell asleep.
