Chapter 27 I'm trouble
Elena’s POV
I don’t know what to say as I look at Liam.I thought he wanted to talk about something else to the pack but he was introducing me as his mate.
I thought I couldn’t love this man more but I was wrong.
I looked at Sarah and Clara who were clapping for me, and giving me thumbs up.
I recovered from my shock and began to smile, looking at all the pack members who looked happy for the news.
Ella was here and she was looking at me like she was about to come and fight me.I stood taller and smirked.
Come at me now, I thought.
She glared at me and turned away.
Ha, I knew I could be intimidating.
Liam let everyone go back to their business.
“Took you long enough,” Sarah smiled looking at her brother.
“You knew?”
She looked at me. “Yes I knew, just because I’m seventeen doesn’t mean I don’t know stuff,” she whined.
“Ignore her,” Clara laughed. “Liam told us when he asked for our help with your dress.”
I nodded, that made sense.“But anyone could see there was something going on with you two,” Sarah shrugged.
“I thought I dismissed everyone to continue their work,” Liam stood at my back.
“Okay okay, just say you want Elena all to yourself,” Sarah smirked.
“Just leave,” Liam sighed.
“See you later,” she said and left.
Clara muttered something about having to train the new pups and left, but I knew it was a lie.
“Let’s go,” Liam holds my hand.
“To where?”
“To the orphanage, Sarah told me you wanted to go when you guys were together.”
We walk to the orphanage in silence, but it’s not bad and I even enjoy it.
We get there and I see a small woman with her blond hair and hazel eyes.
She rushes over to us. “Alpha Liam, Luna Elena, what are you doing here?” she looked nervous and did she just call me Luna.
Wow, news travels fast in this pack.
“Hello Grace, we are here to see the kids,” Liam smiled. He doesn’t usually smile at people and it makes me think Grace must be a good person.
“They will be so happy, it’s been sometime since they’ve seen you,” she smiled at him.I looked at him about to ask my question.
“I used to come here sometimes to play with the pups but I have been busy,” he said.
“Come and meet the kids,” Grace leads us inside. Little pups are playing around and screaming with joy.
“Kids, come quickly, look, Alpha Liam is finally here and he brought his friend,” Grace smiled.
The kids ran over to Liam as they climbed over his body. It looked so cute.
“Liam, you are back,” a little girl with red hair and blue eyes said as she pulled Liam’s hair.
“Yes, I’m back, Jane” he picks her up and spins her around.“And you are not leaving again?” She looked like she was about to cry.
“No, I will be here almost every day.”She smiled and hugged him.
“Who is she?” a boy who is holding Liam’s leg points at me.
“Is she the new friend?” Jane frowned as she looked at me.
“She is,” Liam looked at me and smiled.“I like her eyes,” she smiled at me.
“I like them too,” Liam said and I blush.
Liam keeps playing with the kids and some even come to talk to me too.
Liam kisses my cheek and leaves to handle something.
“I will be back there if you need me,” Grace said and left.I played with the kids for some time and then I decided it’s time to leave.
I walk out of the orphanage and see Ella walking by.
She sees me and walks to meet me.
“Congratulations, Luna Elena,” she said but I know she doesn’t mean it.
“You must be happy now that you are Luna.”
I smile. “Yes I am, I’m Liam’s mate after all, so it’s obvious I will be Luna.”
She glared at me. “You don’t belong here Elena, you are just going to get everyone killed especially Liam. Whoever that is after wants you dead and it’s clear that Liam is in the way and so is his sister and beta and all his friends. I think it will be better for all of us if you just disappear, but I know you won’t leave until it’s too late and Liam is dead.” She spat.
I flinched. I didn't think about it like that.
She glared at me again and left.
“Is it true?”
I turn to see Jane with tears in her eyes.
“No, I will not.”
She starts crying. “You’re going to make Liam go away again, I knew you were a bad person.”
“No I would never do that,” but she’s not listening and keeps crying.
“Jane, there you are, I have been looking everywhere for you,” Grace sighed.
“What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
“She’s going to make Liam go away again,” Jane is shaking now.
Grace looks at me confused. “It’s okay Jane, Alpha Liam is not going anywhere.”
She mouths a sorry and I just nod as she carries Jane who is still screaming, back to the orphanage.
I feel terrible as I get to the pack house and my mind keeps going back to what Ella said.
Was I really going to get everyone killed?
I thought about all the friends I made here, if they died because of me I would never live that.
Maybe Ella was right.
I should just leave before I kill anyone.
