Chapter 13 Questions
Elena's POV
It's only been a few days since I woke up from my,um, episode and now it seems like everything is falling apart.
The elders had made decisions like I was a monster that needed to be tamed, it was just my luck that I had somehow survived Silver Lake after everything they did, and now it seemed like I was in more trouble.
“Elena, you haven't eaten at all,” Clara looked worried.
I liked Clara, I mean I had only known her for a day but I thought she was cool.
“I'm just not feeling hungry,” I lied.
“Oh Liam's here,” Scott beamed. I guess he admired Liam, but who wouldn't, he was a leader in every way.
I looked up to see Liam and Josh walking in, he went with a plain shirt and blue jeans that made him look like sin. How was it possible to wear something so simple and still look so hot.
We locked eyes, his gaze burning into my skin, I looked away trying not to blush too bad.
It still felt so unreal that I had a mate,me? and it was someone like him, it didn't make any sense.
All the other wolves fell silent as he walked in, they only talked again after he sat down.
I buried my face in my food.
“How are you feeling?” he asked.
I looked up and noticed he was talking to me. “I'm fine, thank you,” I muttered.
“Good.”
And with that the conversation ended, sometimes it was so hard to read him, sometimes he looked like he wanted to pick me up and kiss me and then he looked like he just wanted to be far away from me.
Maybe I was way over my head, I mean who would want a mate who was wolfless and still found a way to cause trouble, dead mate or not.
Maybe he was ashamed of me, that would explain why he didn't tell anyone about me, not even his sister.
I tried to brush the thought away, but I couldn't, my gut told me that very soon I would be tossed aside like I was nothing, because I was nothing.
“Elena.”
“Yes,” I snapped out of my thoughts.
“You haven't eaten,” Liam said.
“Same thing I told her,” Clara added.
“Maybe she just isn't hungry, drop it Clara,”
Scott said.
Liam frowned still looking at me, I started eating, not wanting to give him another reason to dislike his mate.
“Elena, still completing that tour,” Sarah beamed, she had tied her pretty hair in bun this morning.
“Yes I am,” I said, maybe it would distract me from how I was feeling.
“You weren't too bad yesterday,” Liam said after a while.
“When?”
“During your training with Sarah,” his lips twitched.
Oh you mean when I fell face down close to twenty times yesterday, yeah I bet I was good.
“If you'd like, I could help you train,” he took a bite of his eggs.
I looked at him with wide eyes. “Really?”
“Yes, you could come find me in the gym after the tour, Sarah knows the way,” I wasn't sure if I was happy or nervous about training with Liam but at least I wouldn't feel so helpless.
“The flowers on the pack grounds are so many but they are pretty though, I didn't know Liam liked them so much,” I smiled as we walked through the pack grounds, continuing our tour.
“The flowers weren't Liam's idea, it was actually my mom's, she loved them,” she gave me a weak smile.
“Oh, I'm really sorry,” I said. I didn't know much about Liam and his family besides the rumors, something about his parents dying in a car crash.
It was a sad story, but deep down, I always wondered why really happened.
“It's okay, I agree the flowers are pretty.”
We walked around a bit and laughed over stupid things.
“Hey Sarah, I have been wondering, why is the pack called Blood Moon Pack?”
“Well, it's a ridiculous story, but my parents and my brother believed it was true. Something about the first ever werewolves, the Lycans, transforming during a blood moon. My parents said we were kind of like the descendants of the first werewolves and that this land was sacred to them, the land has been passed down through our generation for ages now or something like that. Hence the name, Blood Moon Pack. I don't think it's true though, just a bunch of nonsense.”
“That's interesting,” I said still lost in thoughts. If they were descendants of the first werewolves, how strong were they?
I made a note not to piss Sarah off if we ever trained again.
“So that basically it, all you need to know about the pack, only thing missing is the forest and there's not really much to see, besides Liam talks about seeing symbols on some part of the forest,” she shrugged.
“Symbols?”
“Yeah, he said he saw some things on the trees, but when he went back he couldn't find it, it's still a mystery I guess.”
Well that was something. I thought.
Who knew Blood Moon Pack had so many secrets, just like me.
I hadn't told anyone about the cloaked lady and what she had said.
I was supposed to have a wolf but I didn't feel anything when I woke up, just sore muscles and a dry throat.
I guess she was wrong, but didn't believe that, too many things happened that night and needed some answers but it looked like no one had any idea on what's happening not even the elders.
I looked up wanting to say something to Sarah, when her eyes glazed over like she heard something through the mind link.
She looked at me.
“I guess it's time to spar with Liam.”
