Chapter 64 64

Chapter 64 64
“NO!” Sofía screamed, thrashing wildly in his grip, twisting her body in desperate attempts to break free. But the truth mocked her even as she struggled his man wasn’t human. How could she possibly escape something like him?

His shoulder dug painfully into her stomach as he carried her away in long, powerful strides, toward God-knew-where. The terror of being held like this trapped, helpless was suffocating.

Rain slammed down relentlessly, leaves thrashing violently around them as the forest raged. Twigs snapped sharply beneath his boots with every step.

She beat her small fists against his back again and again, but it was useless. All she earned was aching hands and mounting despair.

Her sobs were swallowed by the storm, tears streaming down her face and blending with the rain. Blood rushed to her head from the way she was slung over his shoulder, dizziness creeping in, thick and disorienting.

When she tried to writhe again, his grip tightened brutally around her thighs, locking her in place.

Then she saw it.

The stone pathway.

The one leading back to the cottage.

Her hands went icy with fear, panic exploding as her struggles intensified.

“No! Let me go!” she screamed hoarsely, clawing at his back like a cornered tigress, wild and frantic, fighting with everything she had left.

A deep, thunderous growl rumbled from his chest.

The sound alone froze her entire body.

She was hyperventilating by the time he burst into the cottage, slamming the door shut with such force that the walls rattled violently around them.

Fernando finally set her on her feet.

The moment her weight shifted, the world tilted. Dizziness hit hard, her knees buckling but his hand shot out, gripping her arm and steadying her before she could collapse.

Reality snapped back in.

She yanked her arm free and stumbled backward, eyes wide with horror as she stared at him. Step by step, she retreated not afraid of the cottage anymore, but of the man standing before her.

Her lips trembled uncontrollably. Her chin quivered. Her throat tightened as memories dark, painful memories flooded her mind unbidden.

“I told you not to leave this place!” he roared, fury vibrating through his voice as he advanced.

She gasped sharply when her back hit the table behind her.

In the next heartbeat, he was there looming over her, massive and menacing, a predator closing in.

Her thoughts scattered uselessly. She had just learned what he was, and the only instinct screaming through her was to get away.

Run.

Acting purely on panic, she shoved both hands against his chest with everything she had.

He hadn’t expected it.

He staggered back a step.

That was all she needed.

Sofía spun and bolted for the door but a shrill scream tore from her throat as his hand fisted painfully in her hair, yanking her back.

He twisted her soaked hair tighter around his fingers and dragged her toward him, slamming her back into place, caging her between his body and the table.

She stood trembling before him.

Her eyes squeezed shut, fear locking them closed, her hands shaking violently at her sides.

“Open your eyes,” he ordered.

She didn’t.

Her mind was in chaos. Her body screamed for his touch begged for it while her thoughts replayed the image of that massive black wolf tearing a man apart, again and again.

His jaw tightened, anger flaring as he jerked her head back roughly. Pain ripped a wince from her lips but still she refused to look.

“Open your eyes, Ana,” he hissed, deadly calm coating every word, “or I’ll make your punishment worse.”

His hot breath brushed her face, fear twisting her stomach violently.

“P-pl-please,” she stammered, voice barely there.

She whimpered as she heard his teeth grind in frustration, but his grip on her hair held her immobile.

“What did you see, doll?”

The endearment sent terror slicing straight through her.

“P-please…” Tears spilled helplessly down her cheeks, her body shaking uncontrollably.

“You’re on heat,” he growled.

The words jolted through her, but she couldn’t process them. Her mind was too busy battling her own body, fighting sensations she didn’t understand.

Sudden, searing pain ripped through her, and she screamed.

“Fuck!” Fernando cursed.

In an instant, his arm wrapped around her waist, hauling her fragile body flush against his hard chest.

The sparks ignited immediately.

The pain eased just a little but it didn’t disappear.

“L-let me g-go,” she whimpered weakly, struggling like a frightened kitten in his arms.

“You need me,” he murmured, his voice deep and husky.

Every hair on the back of her neck stood on end.

She knew that voice.

It only surfaced when he was aroused.

And now she knew what he was.

“No… p-please…” she whispered.

Slowly, trembling, she opened her eyes to beg him and her breath hitched as she met glowing golden orbs locked onto her with terrifying intensity.

A sob broke free as she tried to pull away, but he only tightened his hold, drawing her closer.

Another wave of pain surged through her, and his closeness dulled it temptingly, dangerously.

But she couldn’t stay.

She had to escape.

“I need to claim you,” he rasped, restraint fraying as she shook her head frantically.

“P-please d-d-don’t hurt m-me…” she pleaded, voice breaking.

He tugged her hair again, pulling her head back and baring her neck.

She gasped as he lowered his face, his nose brushing the sensitive curve of her throat, goosebumps erupting across her skin.

“P-please…” she begged again, eyes squeezed shut, her body trembling violently.

She was terrified.

“You’ll die if I don’t claim you now,” he said, his deep voice rich and unyielding.

His tongue brushed her skin.

She flinched.

His canines extended as he inhaled her scent, teeth grazing the place he intended to mark.

She was so small in his arms so helpless against the beast holding her.

“Relax, doll,” he murmured.

“D-don’t p-ple—ahhhhhh!”

Her scream tore through the cottage as his canines pierced her flesh, branding her with his claim.

The pain was overwhelming too much for her overheated body to withstand. Black spots swarmed her vision, darkness closing in fast.

She surrendered to it.

Welcomed it.

Praying she would never wake again.

But this

This was only the beginning.
