Chapter 37 A Meeting Of Fate

Chapter 37 A Meeting Of Fate
Isabella’s POV

A figure stepped into view from the shadows between the trees, the moonlight catching his tall, powerful built physique.

His eyes were already glowing with an intense, unnatural red colour, his claws extended—longer than anything I had ever seen in my life. He moved with a slow, lethal precision that made the three rogue wolves look almost weak, and terrified.

“And who the fuck are you?” The rogue’s leader sneered at the figure, trying to sound brave even as his voice was shaking. “You think you can take us? We’ll snap you in half, pretty boy…you’re outnumbered.”

His grip on me tightened for a moment, his cock still hard and pressing disgustingly against my thigh.

“Last warning,” the figure said quietly. “Let the girl go. Or I’ll rip all three of you into shreds.” He tilted his head slightly, the red color in his eyes flaring brighter, more intense.

A humourless laughter tore out of the rogue leader, but I could feel his body shaking against mine.“Big words for one man…you really think you can—“

“I don’t think,” the figure interrupted coldly, his voice still calm. “I know.”

“There against one…” the rogue leader took one slow step toward the figure. “It’s bad. You won’t survive this, I promise you.”

The two smaller rogues shifted uneasily, their eyes flickering between their leader and the figure, then back to the figure again.

“You have five seconds,” the figure’s voice cut through the awkward silence, the finality in his tone flat and final. “Four… three…”

For a terrifying second, the rogue leader’s ego cracked, and his grip on me loosened completely as sweat began to drip down his forehead. “You’re bluffing—”

“Two.”

“Kill him!” The rogue leader barked,  snapping his head towards his two men as he pointed at the figure. “Make it slow and painful.”

The two rogues lunged forward immediately, shifting partially as they attacked, their claws drawing out. All I could do was stand there, watching in horror as the figure met them head-on.

What happened next was a blur of violence and brutality unlike anything I had ever witnessed. The figure moved faster than should have been possible, catching the first rogue mid—air, his claws slashing across the man’s throat in one clean, merciless motion.

Blood dripped onto the earth, splattering on the leaves and my face as the rogue choked, clutching at the open wound as he collapsed, drawing his last breaths.

The second rogue roared and swung wildly, but the figure dudged the blow with terrifying ease, then drove his claws straight into the man’s chest. I heard the sickening sound of ribs cracking as his claws struck forward, tearing through flesh and bone.

A high, agonizing sound ripped out of the rogue instantly, before the figure silenced him by tearing out his throat with his teeth. Blood poured everywhere, its metallic scent mixed with the earthy smell of the forest, making my stomach churn violently.

“What the—!” The words tore out of the rogue leader without meaning to, his body jerking violently as he stared at his dead companions.

He shoved me away roughly and turned on his heel to run. But he didn’t get the chance to go far because the figure was onto him in a heartbeat. He grabbed him by the neck and slammed him face-first into the ground with brutal force.

The rogue tried to dodge mid-attack, his claws slashing desperately, but the figure overpowered him with raw, merciless strength. He pinned him down in one swift motion, then drove his claws deep into his back, twisting viciously.

With one final, brutal motion, the figure ripped the rogue alpha’s throat out completely, silencing him forever. The next thing that followed immediately was silence, broken only by the dripping of blood and my own ragged breathing.

Holy shit!

No…no…!

I just fucking watched this stranger kill three dangerous, powerful rogues like they were nothing. If he could do that so easily, what would he do to me — a weak, bleeding, defenseless woman?

I moved on instinct immediately, pushing myself up as I began to run. My legs barely obeyed, but pure panic gave me strength, until I stumbled halfway, my bare feet slipping on blood-soaked leaves.

I didn’t get more than a few steps.

The figure moved faster than my eyes could follow, and the next thing I knew he was in front of me, blocking my path.

“Please…” the words left my mouth instantly, staggering backwards, my heart pounding so hard I thought it might burst. “Please don’t kill me…don’t…don’t ravish me…I’ve already lost everything tonight. Just…let me go…”

I dropped to my knees in the dirt, trembling violently even as my vision began to fade slightly. The blood loss, the miscarriage, the starvation — everything was catching up at once. My body began to feel impossibly heavy, like it was pinned at a spot.

The figure bent down in front of me. His red eyes studied me carefully, raking all over me with something that felt close to pity. When he spoke, his voice was surprisingly calm, almost gentle compared to the monster I had just witnessed.

“Kill you?” A humourless laughter tore out of him. “I just saved your life…why would I kill you?”

He reached for me slowly, as if approaching a wounded animal. “Who are you? What are you doing all alone in a place like this? It’s not safe for anyone, especially not a she-wolf who’s bleeding.”

I tried to push myself up to answer him, to tell him my name, beg him to spare my life.

“I… I’m…”

The words wouldn’t come out. My strength gave out completely, the entire forest blurring as I felt myself falling forward.

“Hey! Miss…are you okay?”

The figure’s strong arms caught me before I could hit the ground. The last thing I heard was his voice, low and urgent, barking my name like it could somehow make everything normal.

“Hey! Wake up!”

Then everything went dark.
