Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Abigail's POV

It was at that point that I knew that there was a problem somewhere and all I needed to do was to find a way to abscond. I knew that everyone was going to reject me but this lycan's touched me to the core.

A few people might ask what was special about him but I didn't even know. It was almost as though something left my body at his words. He knew better than to insult who was going to be his breeder.

I sniffled into my dress and sat on the floor. I was coming from one betrayal to another and all I felt was just luck, I needed to get out of this place as soon as possible.

The question was how.

If there was one thing that was certain, it was the fact that he would obviously have double security so that I didn't escape.

The scent of someone approaching hot me before the footsteps resounded. I had learnt to be observant to make up for the lack of my wolf. I could spot someone who was coming from afar off, so I straightened.

My eyes were on the door waiting for the intruder.

It turned out to be a very beautiful lady who was looking like the sun and this wasn't me exaggerating. Without being told, I recognized her immediately. It was none and only but the lady of the manor..

From her dominating stance and impassive look on her face, I knew what this was. "You're the new girl that was brought in here, to be my husband's breeder." She stated.

I nodded fearfully. I wrapped the clothes around my chest tighter. Her eyes ran over my figure and I saw a flash of disdain pass through them. I didn't know why she was angry seeing that her husband was ready to treat me like trash.

"Aren't you supposed to do something?" she asked me and my gaze shot up towards her.

"What am I supposed to do please?" I asked her and she stared at me with a more disdainful look. I was almost like gum beneath her shoe and all I could think of was the fact that there was nothing that I could do to her. She was probably used to having the final say which I thought wasn't the best thing considering that I was here to do him a favor.

The blank look in my eyes was an indicator that she was nothing before me. I would return her energy ten times.

A chuckle escaped her lips which left me chilly. I knew that she was onto something, very sinister. " I would advise that you tread carefully, if not you would not spend a week here before you're annihilated." She replied.

I stared at her for a minute, she didn't even mince words and truth be told, I was very scared because the way that lycan had grabbed my throat I knew that the rumors were obviously true.

My eyes wandered toward her and I was waiting to see what else she would do to me. "Turn, let me see what the hell they saw in you." She shot me a disdainful look and I was pissed.

Why was she staring at me like trash? I might not be as beautiful as she was but I was a person. I caught her sniffing the air slightly and I knew that she was about to find out my secret. She was going to make hell out of me.

"Something is off about you." She replied and I only stared at her with a glare in return. She wasn't the only one who was good at being condescending. "You don't have a wolf! Ha!" She whispered and I saw a wicked gleam in her eyes

"You can't bear the Alpha's heir. You would die. That's if he doesn't kill you before that process." She whispered and picked her well-manicured nails to that effect.

"You are just a measly human, the bottom of the food chain. I bet your father is ashamed of you. Was that why you were brought here?" She assessed me again waiting for me to retort but I kept my cool.

Instead I clenched my fists, I didn't know how someone could be this beautiful but be very impoverished in character.

I held back my retort because I didn't want to step on toes on my first few days. She seemed like trouble and I would rather avoid her.

If he didn't want to have anything to do with me, I think I should be happy. But the question was what I'd do to earn the shelter that he was offering me. Being a rogue seemed more of a better option than being here.

My eyes darted to the door and I stared at the intruder. It was a maid that was walking with a tray of tea and I glanced at the fuming Luna.

"Take that tea back. How dare you serve her like some royalty?" She asked the maid who mumbled a quick apology before rushing off. My eyes were on her. Why she hated me so much, I would never understand.

"And you, you're nothing but a breeding tool, that's if the Alpha even decides to keep you around. I won't be having you come to my pack and act like an important person. Now, wear those clothes and join the maids in the kitchen."

"She won't be doing that, the Alpha says that she is to stay in this room." A man spoke from the doorway. His stance was like a cougar that was ready to pounce on me at any second. I tried to place his face and at the end of the day I finally remembered.

It was the man that I had seen with the Alpha that time. What was he doing here when he could be with his people? I hope that this didn't cause a rift between him and the Luna.

She glared at me and signaled to him. He followed after her and shot me a last glance making me worry about what was happening. It seemed like a silent conversation had passed between them.

I quickly donned my clothes. As a virgin, I was not comfortable being half naked in front of a man.

"It's nothing that I've not seen before. How are you feeling?" He asked me and I jumped in fright. I wasn't expecting that he'd come in unannounced. I prided myself in being very observant but I guess I wasn't that observant.

It made me wonder who he was. He was also tall, dark and handsome, making me wonder what his rank was. "Are you the Beta of this pack?"

He stared at me as though he didn't imagine that I could utter such words and I was also afraid on his behalf. " You aren't supposed to be talking to me except I ask you to." He replies coolly.

There were certain people that you automatically knew were powerful. He wasn't even doing anything yet I was already feeling very antsy in his presence. "I'm sorry about that, sir." I apologized.

He nodded calmly. "Good, so how are you feeling? I saw that the Alpha sent you out earlier. How do you feel about that?"

I shrugged, not expecting that he'd be asking about my welfare. " I don't know how to feel. Is there something I'm missing?" I inquired when I saw his gaze fastening on me. I followed his gaze and stared at my feet. I obviously couldn't know why he was acting that way but I still felt like checking.

"Do you think that the best way to get things done is by giving up?" He asked me cryptically and I stared at him in utter confusion. "You left the moment he sent you away."

Well, duh! What was I supposed to do when someone was about to kill me? It wasn't my choice in the first place so maybe they could just find a way to get out of my space and let me focus on my life.

"I'm sorry that I couldn't stand in his presence after he thundered." I replied sarcastically, even bowing to the effect.

"You are not going to give up on this journey that you've already planted your feet on. If you need anything, reach out to me." He said and I nodded knowing that he couldn't give me what I wanted.

"Speak." He ordered.

"Yes, sir."

Maybe I could trick them into believing that I was a spineless fairy and seize that opportunity to move.

"Good that is what I want to hear. You will make sure that the Alpha sleeps with you and fertilizes you." He ordered and I rolled my eyes inwardly while maintaining a poker face.

"Okay, sir."

"Stop giving her ideas, she won't be bearing pups for me unless she wants to die. I don't have the time for a weakling." Alpha Daniel replied, startling both of us.
