Chapter 25 Twenty five
Chapter 25 Twenty five
Laura's POV.
Eating in the cafeteria was a struggle for me, it was an all eyes of me battle, I couldn't even lift a spoon without their eyes following me, it was annoying and it made me too self conscious, I was getting of the stares, and the most annoying thing is that they somehow knew that their stares were annoying, but they kept doing it.
I couldn't concentrate on my eating, and I was very famished from the training. I needed to eat very well, so I will be energetic at least, my energy drained every time I finished training.
The cook added more soup for me and I slurped it down immediately.
"You're a good eater." Dean said and I nodded.
"Yes, and I really need my energy, so I have to eat a lot." I said and he nodded.
His phone vibrated and he brought it out, frowning at it, he looked up at me and smiled immediately, I raised my brows at him, and he laughed.
"Looks like you're not the only missing someone." He said and I laughed, my heart thumped because I somehow knew who he was talking about, I wondered what he asked Dean about, did he miss me the same way I missed him, I hoped he did, if he did that would make me so happy, because I missed him so fucking much, I felt like I wouldn't stand today without getting a glimpse of him,I wanted to go take a sneak peak at the meeting room, so I could see him, and my heart would stop wincing when I thought of him, all I wanted was to see him and then I'll be fine, and that would make me happy.
"You're thinking of him now right?" Dean said and I smiled nodding.
"Well, don't think too much, he is asking for you when the meeting is finished." He said and I gasped.
My heart did a somersault, but this time it was out of happiness, I was very happy to hear that he was back and he was asking for me.
I ate my meal quickly, making sure I finished in a minute, I ran out immediately, and right now I didn't care about the looks I got from anyone staring, all I cared about was seeing him.
I heard Dean's laughter and I heard his footsteps, I thought he wouldn't follow me.
I paused when I reached the corridor, I wasn't ready for the sight.
I saw Darren and the lady who insulted me when she first met me and also in the kitchen.
I saw her hug him and kiss him, my legs failed me, I wobbled, I had to grab the wall for balance.
I felt Dean's hands grab me, and I couldn't face him. I wondered how I looked right now to him. I was so happy to meet him, yet here he was hugging another woman, my heart couldn't take it, my wolf whined in pain and I turned away.
"Wait up Laura." Dean said when I was walking away.
I turned to him and I saw Darren's eyes widen, and the lady smirked at me, my heart couldn't take it anymore.
"Laura, wait." I heard Dean say but I kept walking, I didn't want to speak to anyone right now, my heart couldn't take it, I kept running, I didn't know where I was going to.
I kept running, I shifted, letting my wolf out, we kept running around the bushy area I saw, it made me feel oddly better, I kept running around in circles, trying to stop this hurt I felt.
"Why can't I have something perfectly for once?" I asked out loud.
"Why can't I be happy without having anything hindering it, why has it always been like this?" I asked.
"I was rejected by my first mate and now my mate who didn't reject me doesn't actually like me."
"I've never been completely happy, and just when I thought I would be completely happy for once, after all I've faced, this happens." I said hitting the grass.
"I just want to be happy without any complications, but it doesn't always work that way." I sat down trying to wipe the tears away, but it kept flowing.
"You're nothing but a worthless piece of trash, you've never meant anything and you won't." My father slapped me and I stumbled.
I held my cheeks in pain, wincing from the physical pain he inflicted and the emotional hurt. I still couldn't believe my father would do this to me, this wasn't how a father should be to their daughters.
"You shouldn't think you're something and stop making excuses." He said, he brought the whip closer to me.
He didn't hit me yet, but my heart beat immediately. I wanted to run away, but I couldn't move. My legs couldn't carry me anywhere. I tried finding a way to run, but it wasn't working.
He smiled then he kept hitting me, I cried and cried, yet he kept hitting me, he spat on me and left.
I looked around making sure the pack members didn't see me. I'm sure they would laugh if they heard this.I tried standing, yet it didn't work. I laid down there shivering from the cold and the pain.
My mother walked in and saw me, she sighed spitting on the floor, my heart clenched.
I normally liked it when they ignored me as usual, but her doing this to me hurt more than them ignoring me.
"I hope he did more than this." She said and I shook my head.
"Stupid child, you think you can say anything you like, or have a say in any matter." She said,
"You're worthless." She added.
I didn't know why my parents called me names, yet it hurt, I couldn't believe this was what they thought of me, it made me hate myself, I didn't know what I did wrong, all I knew is, they didn't like anything I did.
I stood up finally after struggling for a while.
