Warm Moments
OPAL
Bruce keeps his promise to me.
As soon as I get home, I find him waiting in the room for me. Not much is said. We tear at each other's clothes, lips locked the entire time, and then we're both in bed, totally naked.
I'm addicted to his touch. I think it's safe to say that at this point. Every time he touches me, it feels like my whole body has been set on fire, and I can't get enough.
The force of his thrusts. The feel of his forehead against mine. His breath fanning my face. The sweet, sweet words he says to me when he's buried deep inside of me...all of it has become an integral part of my life now. I can't live without it.
I can't live without him.
"Opal," he grunts as he slams his hips into mine. He rocks in and out of me his tip touching the most sensitive spot inside of me.
A string of loud moans leaves my lips. Bruce keeps on grunting, whispering how good I feel while his fingers disappear in my hair. His hips crashing into me apply pressure to my clit and I’m so close to the edge now. My orgasm is just building and building.
“Bruce,” I moan. “Oh, yes! Y-Yes! Oh.”
He thrusts me harder and faster, then maintains his pace. My mouth falls open and heat travels down my spine. I cry out, and he comes right after, spilling his seed inside of me with a grunt.
We hold each other afterward. Bruce is stroking my lower back. I'm spent and exhausted, and I'm still breathing hard. It's easy to forget the world's problems when I'm in his arms, but as soon as my heart's pace returns to normal, I find myself thinking about everything Gwen and I said to each other.
Could it be true?
I know Gwen's parents wouldn't have been killed because of something trivial. But who killed them? The rogues? Does Bruce know anything about it? It haunts me to even think of such a thing.
The worst part is that I can't ask. If he didn't tell me about this, how can I implicate my friend?
"What're you thinking about?" he asks against my skin.
"I don't know. I'm just thinking. About all of this. It's all...such a big mess, isn't it?"
"Yeah," he says.
"Especially with the rogues."
I take note of Bruce's reaction. Sure enough, he's gotten very tense, even though he's kissing my shoulder. A beat of silence passes, then he says, “Tomorrow, we’ll have a meeting. No outsiders will be around. Just me, you, and the rest of my family.”
“We’ll talk about the rogue situation?”
“Yes.”
I want to ask him more about this, but I know it’ll be discussed tomorrow, and I can just keep my questions until the meeting is set to happen.
“How was the thing with your friend?”
“Good,” I answer a little too quickly. “Well, it was better than I expected. We managed to catch up and talk about all sorts of things.”
“How long have you known her for?”
“A really long time,” I explain. “I think it’s safe to say that I’ve known her all my life. Do you have friends like that? Friends you’ve known forever?”
I suddenly remember his friend, the same one he fought and then banished. Bruce answers, “No. I don’t have a friend like that.”
“I think it’s a shame.”
“It is. Then again, it’s almost impossible for someone who’s meant to be Alpha King to make friends. Real friends, I mean. Someone who wouldn’t want to abuse the power of our friendship. Do you know what I mean?”
“I do,” I agree.
He kisses my shoulder again. “In any case, I’ve never been good at making friends. I’m not good with people in general. I have an idea of how to lead them, but everything else falls short.”
“Don’t say that.”
“It’s the truth.”
“Yeah, but you managed to seduce me, didn’t you?” I look up at him and support myself on his chest. He stares back at me with a tender look in his eyes, and I think there’s never been a more intimate moment between us.
Our bodies are sticky with sweat, and there’s an appeal to it that I never thought I’d feel before. The only light in the room is coming from the lamp on the nightstand. His face is bathed in an orange glow. The way he’s looking at me makes my heart flutter in my chest.
“It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done.”
“You’re just saying that.”
“I’m not. From the moment I saw you, I knew I had to have you. I fell in love right away. I’d seen your picture before, but it wasn’t the same as when I saw you face to face. You’re stunning, and when you opened your mouth, I fell even more in love with this woman who was a rebel at heart.”
I place my hand on his face and run circles on his cheek with my thumb. “I’m glad things worked out between us, Bruce. I really am. That first night was an unforgettable experience. And you know what? I’m glad it was with you. Really glad.”
“Me, too.”
We share a heated kiss. His tongue glides along mine and this sends shivers down my spine. We kiss for a handful of minutes, just enjoying the taste of each other’s mouths. I feel aroused again, and I see his cock’s outline through the duvet. I climb on top of him and feel him harden against my inner thighs. I push his cock up and rub the underside of it.
Bruce grunts in my mouth and I smile with satisfaction.
I don’t know why, but I suddenly remember something he told me not too long ago. I break the kiss and ask against his lips, “What is it that you wanted to tell me the other day? You know, before we got interrupted.”
A furrow forms between his eyebrows. “I don’t know. I can’t remember.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Come here.”
He pins me beneath him and takes me again. The question flies right out of my mind along with everything else as he slides in and out of me, one delicious inch at a time.
