“Where do you think you are going, Alpha Killian?”
I clenched my jaws and turned back to the beta who closed the car door before I could get in.
“I have to go to the palace to report something very important. A monster is walking among us that is going to threaten us all!”
Lucas firmly stood on his feet while the royal guards surrounded me. “You need to go back. It’s the alpha prince’s order for you to go back to the mansion.”
I faced the young man. I was once like him before-idealistic and treated the then alpha prince as the highest rule of law that is why I went into rebellion and won wars for him.
“What I am doing is saving this whole state that is going to be destroyed by the monster! I am telling everything to the alpha king that the alpha prince is coddling the woman that is going to end us all! No one can stop me, young man, so if I were you, I would step aside and let me through. I am warning you, I am a very hard man to deal with.”
“Yes, I know that,” a voice from our back joined us. The alpha prince is walking up to us wearing the same expression as his father.
He is as hot blooded as the alpha king when he was young.
“You can tell my father about Alana and I can tell him that she is your real daughter and she got it from your line. I will uncover your lies that your firstborn has died. She could be a monster because of you, Alpha Killian. I am going to tell him that Alana is your failed experiment after you decided to usurp the alpha king’s throne.”
He grinned when he saw the alarm in my face. “Who do you think my father would believe? The one who is robbing his money and gold or his son who has just run away from the palace to secure his special girl?”
I could only grind my teeth against each other. This young man is really testing my patience that is slowly running out quickly. He is making me forget that he is the alpha prince and the next alpha king to rule over us.
He must have seen the confusion in my eyes because he smiled at me widely. “I already told you. Just let Alana do her thing and you and I will have no problem with each other.”
“You want me to let a monster terrorize my wife and daughter?! Do you think I am a crazy man, alpha prince?”
He nodded, the fire of contempt in his eyes is back. “Yes, because you terrorize her first and I am going to do everything just so she could do whatever she wants with you and your own family. Do you understand, Alpha Killian?”
He looked around, his eyes finding Lucas who immediately stepped forward. “Close all the borders! No one from the mansion would be let out except upon my order!”
“Yes, alpha prince.”
They left me there standing all alone trying not to growl and bite off the head of the alpha prince.
“Honey! Honey!”
Minerva came running towards me from the house. “Honey!”
“Why? What has happened? Why are you crying?”
I wiped her face and hugged her tightly. I know my wife to be a very strong woman so what has happened might have upset her so much.
“The alpha prince locked Sophia in the basement where we used to put Alana! Honey, our daughter is lying on the cold dirty floor and she has only drunk a few glasses of water. She has not eaten anything!”
She erupted onto loud sobs. “What are we going to do? Do we just let them disrespect us like this?! Honey, they are already mocking your title! Who cares if he is the alpha prince?! What did he see in that woman?! Why does she mean so much to her when she is just nothing special?!”
I caressed her back to comfort her as I tasted the acid in my mouth. Just thinking about Sophia being curled in that fucking place makes my blood boil. Our princess has never slept on the floor and we always made sure we give her everything she wants so how dare the alpha prince treat her this way?!
“Do not worry. I have guards inside. I will make sure she eats enough food.”
“Enough food?!” Minerva pushed me away. “Honey, just enough food?! I want you to do more than that. That is our daughter they are maltreating! That is our princess they are abusing!”
“You know I can’t do anything about it because it’s the alpha prince we are talking about. If he ascends to the top of the pack, I will be the first to be his target. The worst is he would support another alpha in our pack to be the new leader!”
She threw me a disgusted look. “Then what should we do now? We just let Sophia perish in there? Please, honey, we have to do something! I cannot let my child spend another night in that place!”
“We can get rid of Alana,” I said the second it hit my mind. “We can deal with the wrath of the alpha prince after we get rid of Alana.”
A smile appeared on her face as she fixed my suit. “I thought you were never going to say that. You are right. We need to take Alana out of the picture but how can we do that when she is the ambassadress? If we are going to harm her, then that is equivalent to harming the alpha king.”
I grinned at her. “Not when it’s the alpha prince who is going to do it.”
She opened her mouth to say something but then it turned into a cackle. “Just like what we did to Alana’s mother?”
I nodded at her despite a small kick of guilt in my chest. “Yes, just like what we did to Athena.”
She hugged me and kissed me on my lips. “Thank you so much my dear husband. I know you will never turn your back on me. I know I can always count on you.”
“And I will always do whatever you want me to do, my love,” I said and kissed her head.
I love her so much that I am willing to serve her every little thing she wants in this world. I even killed my ex-wife for her.
WILLIAM
“Alpha prince, I received a letter from the palace. The alpha king and the queen luna have already returned from their trip.”
I sighed and continued drinking my wine while looking out the window watching the alpha and his luna embracing each other in happiness as if their evil plan would definitely prosper.
“I am sure they already caught wind of what I did, Lucas. And I am sure they want me back as soon as possible.”
“Yes, alpha prince.”
I turned around and went back to my seat. “I can’t do that. I can’t just leave Alana with these beasts especially now that the situation seems to be too brittle.”
I remembered the dread I felt when I saw her bathing in her own blood, scared, slumped to the wall, and did not know what was going to happen.
She just looks so lost like a little child.
“But William, your father is livid to know that you abandoned your role in the palace to come here for Alana. According to the omega, he wants you to be recalled immediately but the queen luna persuades him to give you time.”
Francine stood up and tapped my shoulders. “You should go back now. Do not wait for your father to do something drastic. Do not wait for him to use Alana against you. We can take care of Alana here. You have my word.”
But I firmly shook my head in defiance. “I appreciate the offer Francine but I am not going to leave Alana alone here. I will stay here with her to make sure she is safe while carrying out her mission. I will give her the justice that she deserves so much.”
I stood up to leave. “And he already used Alana against me when he decided to break us apart by making me go on those stupid dates. It’s not my mother who wanted that. It was him all along.”
