Gift for Lucas
WILLIAM
I marched into the halls with the alpha king and queen luna hearing the pleas of Sophia about Aria.
“Alpha king! Queen luna!” she knelt down and cried hard to make sure she gathered their sympathy but only fools would actually believe her crocodile tears.
“My husband, the alpha prince, has taken home a prostitute from the outside. He broke off our vows to be a faithful husband to me. The woman must have seduced him and I don’t want the next alpha king to be corrupted. Alpha king, queen luna, please let me ask you to throw this woman away from the palace and to punish her for seducing my husband!”
“If there is someone who should be punished here, then that should be me,” I interrupted her train of acting and looked straight into the eyes of my father. “Whatever you want to do with her, do it with me instead. If you want to punish me, then punish me now. She did not seduce me. I seduced her. I am the one who brought her to the palace so she is my responsibility!”
Sophia gasped and stood up still crying and shivering from concealing her true intentions.
“Heard that, alpha king? That woman must have done something to the alpha prince for him to think this way! Please, alpha king! I beg you to order the removal of the woman from the palace! I beg of you!”
I glared at her making sure to convey my cold anger. “If you do that then you might as well ask for my removal as the alpha prince.”
“William!” The queen luna rose to her feet.
“Alpha prince!” Sophia also gasped.
I looked at my father who is still silently sitting on his throne.
“She is my woman. I should protect her. Punishing her for my decisions would be synonymous to attacking me. I am the one who put her in this situation so I would be responsible for her.”
Everyone waited in bated breath at the alpha king’s decision but he just waved his hand dismissing me.
“We did not ask for your presence, William. Leave.”
But I did not move and continued staring back into his eyes. I can’t believe this same pair of eyes who held me with so much love before had decided to do that to me.
He knew how he cherished Alana and yet he was the one who ordered the surgery.
“I came here for another reason but since I overheard this woman talking shit about Aria, then I felt the need to protect her.”
Sophia cried loudly while my mother walked up to me.
“Please, son. She is your wife. Stop addressing her as this woman,” my mother said softly. “Do not hurt her feelings anymore.”
“I did not consent to the marriage, mother. You know I do not have any bit of liking towards this someone’s daughter but I just agreed because that’s all you want and I do not know any better than before.”
She opened her mouth but words did not come out because she is just as shocked and appalled as Sophia in my back.
“What do you come here for?” the alpha king’s voice roared in the walls.
“Alpha king, I am here to ask for something from you on behalf of my beta, Lucas.”
Lucas, who has been there in the room since I arrived, looked at me in surprise.
“What is it?” the alpha king asked. “Tell me.”
I smirked at my beta first before stating my request.
“I want him to be married as soon as possible as a reward of his loyalty to me. I do not want him to selflessly spend his time being with me and sacrificing his own personal happiness.”
“But alpha prince!” he tried to cut me off but the alpha king raised his hand to stop him.
“Marriage.” My father glanced at my beta who couldn't help but gasped hard at my suggestion. “Do you have someone in your mind, Lucas?”
I can see the glint of the possible woman in his mind so I immediately replied for him. I would never ever let him have an idea of having Aria.
Just like what I told Alana, I would really kill her other mates if they are still actively pursuing her in the present.
“I have someone in my mind for him, father.”
Lucas blinked as something dawned on him but it’s already too late for him because I had already laid out the trap for him.
“Who is it?”
I smiled at my father and presented Sophia from my back.
“Sophia Egret. Lucas can marry her.”
Sophia fell back into her knees in shock. “W-William!”
“What are you saying?” the alpha king snarled. “Sophia is your wife. William, we do not have time for this madness!”
“That would not be a problem at all.”
I looked at my mother and then my father and then back to Sophia who’s shaking her head uncontrollably because she did not see this one coming.
“Father, mother, since the both of you are here already, then let me formalize things before you.”
“What are you going to do?!” Sophia yelled. “Alpha prince, you must be out of your mind to do this to me!”
Lucas ran to me to plead. “Alpha prince, do not do this. This is madness!”
But I just smiled sinisterly at both of them. I am just starting and yet they’re always cowering.
“I, William, the current alpha prince, hereby divorces Sophia Egret for the grounds of her trickery of my situation. I don’t love her, never liked her. I abhor her and this marriage would never work so might as well release her so another man would find her.”
Something was released inside of me while Sophia wept even harder while screaming.
I smiled at my parents. “There, she’s free already. Lucas can now marry her.”
“No, alpha prince! You can’t do this to me! I am your wife! Alpha prince!”
With one last look, I bowed before my stunned parents and turned my back to watch the pale face of my beta.
I tapped his shoulders and grinned at him. “Have some fun marrying her. Consider her my gift for you since you like to want something that I have. You can have her instead. She will be fine with you, I swear. You both will be perfect for each other.”
