Chapter 221 Chapter 221
The night was dark, and the forest carried an uneasy silence. Clara moved quickly between the trees, her hood drawn low over her face. She had been restless since the celebration, anger boiling inside her. Everyone had been smiling at Elara, praising her, blessing her child. Clara could not take it anymore. She needed a way to break Elara completely—and this time, she would not fail.
She kept walking deeper into the woods until she felt a sudden chill. A shadow moved, and from the darkness, Lucien appeared. His eyes burned like fire, his expression sharp and deadly.
“What are you doing here?” His voice was low, dangerous. “You dare step into my path, girl?”
Clara froze, but she lifted her chin with defiance. “I came to find you.”
Lucien narrowed his eyes and raised his hand. His aura flared with dark power, ready to strike. “You made a mistake. I could crush you here and now. I don’t waste time with weaklings.”
But before he could release his power, Clara’s eyes glowed faintly. A strange aura surrounded her, cold and sharp like the bite of winter. The air shifted, the leaves rustled, and for a moment, Lucien actually hesitated.
Clara smirked. “You think I am weak? I carry a power even your warriors fear to touch. I may not be as strong as you, but together, we can bring down Damien and his Luna.”
Lucien’s eyes narrowed further. He lowered his hand slowly, studying her. “Where did you get that power?”
Clara’s smile widened. “That doesn’t matter. What matters is we both want the same thing—Elara broken, Damien destroyed, and the pack under our feet.”
For a long moment, Lucien said nothing. His anger had nearly led him to destroy her, but now he saw something else—usefulness. Clara’s bitterness and her hidden power could serve his purpose.
Finally, Lucien stepped closer, his voice like venom. “Very well. If you want to join me, then you must prove yourself. I don’t work with cowards.”
Clara met his gaze without flinching. “Test me, and you’ll see. I am not afraid.”
Lucien studied her for another moment before his lips curved into a dark smile. “Good. Then from this night, we plot together. But understand me well, Clara—if you betray me, if you fail me, I will not hesitate to tear you apart.”
Clara bowed her head slightly, but her eyes still burned with ambition. “I have no reason to betray you. My only goal is to see Elara fall.”
Lucien’s laughter echoed through the trees, deep and cold. “Then we share the same goal.”
The two of them stood together under the shadow of the forest, two flames of hatred uniting. And from that night forward, their plot against Damien, Elara, and the entire pack began to take shape.
