Unum in Aeternum 3
(Author’s Point of View.)
“Amelia!”
An indecipherable voice called to her. In a flash, the gut-wrenching scene a second ago was gone, as the whole place was now enveloped in thick white mist. Also, she could feel something or things moving really fast around her, causing all the hair on her skin to bristle as fear settled within her. Her body was quivering as she mustered up her courage to ask, “Who are you? And what do you want from me?”
“I am the guardian of the Elfinis stone. The stone of life. If you are here, that means you have a price to pay. And whether you could leave this place or not, your truth will decide your fate.
Amelia’s heart was thumping like crazy in her chest. She could hear the voice whispering next to her ear. She has no idea what this so-called stone was or why she would need to reveal any truth. But since it has come to this, she better get it over with so she could leave this creepy place at once. “What truth do you want me to reveal?” She inquired.
The voice laughed. “I do not wish for you to reveal anything. But rather, you are needed to answer the questions that will be asked with your utmost sincerity. Remember, I can sense what is truly in your heart.” The guardian cautioned then went on, “In other to balance the timeline and avoid the scene you saw a moment ago from happening, there are two possibilities. The stone will only grant you one wish; thus, I advise you think carefully before giving a reply because any mendacious answer, will have consequences.” The spirit warned.
Recalling that the Moon Goddess had told her something about restoring the balance in the timeline by any means, Amelia wondered what sort of question she will have to answer as her body trembled in foreboding. She could feel it in her bones that this will not end well for her. still, ‘what could she do?’
Just then, the guardian began with her probe. “First possibility; you pay the ultimate prize by selflessly sacrificing yourself. And in return, everyone survives. Including your mate whose fate will be changed and would have a happy life without you in it.
“Second; you allow the people to perish. And in return, you get to live happily with your mate. Additionally, your children will become the new inhabitants of the realm. Tell me, what will you choose?”
Amelia was stunned. ‘What sort of fate is this? Is there really no way for them to live happily ever after together with everyone else included? Why does she have to choose between losing the love of her life to another woman, or watch the world perish? Is their love really doomed from the start?’ Her heart felt like it was being twisted into knots. ‘Why do she and Reagan have to suffer for Selene’s mistake?’
Amelia’s eyes fluttered closed as hot tears rolled down her cheeks. She has no idea why she has to sacrifice herself for a sin she knew nothing about. Not that she blames Selene and Adgan for their mistakes because she probably would have done the same thing if she was to be in their shoes. Amelia bit hard on her lower lip, her nails digging into her flesh as her body shook in anguish. ‘Even though Reagan will forget and move on without her, still, if her death means they all get to live, then it is worth it.’ She concluded.
After an infinite seconds passed, “I chose option one!” She said choking on her tears without opening her eyes, hoping her demise would come quickly and be over with.
“You will give up your mate to another woman for the people that only a couple of them knows of your existence? Is that your definitive answer?” The spirit asked looking at her heart that was glowing brightly, signifying the sincerity in her response.
“Yes, it is!” Amelia replied without a second thought with her eyes still tightly shut.
“As you wish! Take the crystal before you and stab it to your heart!”
At that, Amelia opened her eyes to see the glittering crystal, which was remarkably similar to the one she had seen at the crystal cave, floating in the air. With a shaky hand, she took it and stabbed it straight into her heart without another second passing. She was tired of all the whirlwind of emotions.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Reagan was given the same possibility to choose between forgetting his little mate and moving on with another woman or watch the world perish.
Without even allowing the question die down, “There is no way I am fucking any other woman except her; therefore, I shall perish with her!” Reagan answered sternly without batting an eyelid.
“You could choose to perish with her. However, you still will lose her even in the afterlife.” The guardian said. “Your fates have been sealed long ago. Everything that has happened until now, have all been according to destiny. Your love was never meant to be, it was as a result of altering the timeline.”
Reagan sneered. “Whatever fate or destiny you speak of, can go try toiling with other people’s love life. Whether altering the timeline or not, I will say this once, not even death shall keep us apart because I will reign terror in the underworld or whatever the afterlife means until I fished her out!” He spat.
“And we promise whatever you are that; by the time we are done, you will have no choice than return her to us!” Adgan, Zegan, and Reagan voiced at the same time.

Amelia gasped to find herself back inside the light that still enclosed her, and she couldn’t see anything beyond it. But in that same moment, the light began to dim until it fully faded, and her eyes instantly met with his distinct orbs.
Seeing the one she sought, her emotions amplified. “REAGAN!” She called in tears, wishing to jump in his arms. But unfortunately, she still could not move. They were still being held in place by those patterns she suppose.
Just then, she saw three distinct lights emitting from Reagan’s chest and then merged with another one that was a combination of a vibrant white and pure black which came from hers. Soon, a stone that had the colour of their essence that had just come out of them, was formed. Right after the stone took its full shape, it began to spin fiercely for a couple of seconds, then exploded into a light that consisted of golden, red, greenish-white, vibrant white and black. It looked like a rainbow as it hovered above them in the air. At the same time, the same colour moon appeared in the sky.
Like in unison, gasps of astonishment resounded through the people seeing such magic happen before their eyes. At that, murmurs about the mystical stone, began to spread within them as the ones who have heard stories about the stone told the tale to their fellow wolves.
