An Inevitable Outcome 3

(Author’s Point of View.)

“Stop! Please stop!” Amelia cried out clutching her ears in pain.

“Hey! Look at me, love!” The gentle voice that ignites an invisible inferno in her, slithers its way into Amelia’s ears, then her consciousness instantly returned to its former and she threw herself into his limbs without giving a damn about whose eyes were watching.

Reagan quickly circled his hands around her waist to prevent her from falling. “You are okay, love! I am right here!” He muttered kissing his mark on her neck. He could feel she was terrified. “But what would suddenly make her feel this way?” He wondered.

Just then…

“King Reagan! This is the woman you dished our dignified princess for?” Elder Donaghy laughed bitterly. “For centuries, your people have taken us for weaklings. Today, there shall be no more striving for peace between us,” the man declared. And in a flash, an enormous number of vampires instantly swamped the hall, surrounding their opponents without warning.

On reflexes, the wolves except those closest to Reagan, abruptly jumped to their feet, baring their war teeth, their hands turned to paws since they couldn’t have the liberty to fully shift into their wolf forms and took their position. Ready for war.

Just as a fierce battle was about to break out, “who dares?!” Reagan’s voice thundered, and like an invisible rain of ice had poured down on everyone, the whole crowd froze.

In a lightning speed, Reagan was hoisting up Elder Donaghy by the throat like he weighed nothing. “You are so bold to come into my home, and wage war against me, aren’t you?”

At that same moment, Amelia suddenly felt tightness in her chest, it was as though her heart was being twisted into knots. On normal reflexes, her hands flew to her chest, and she clutched it tightly, with her face contorted in a painful expression. “What’s happening?” Amelia wondered with her hands still clutching her chest, hoping the pain would just go away because it was unbearable. However, her pupils dilated when she saw one of the Elder ‘staring at her with so much malice. Thus, she did not need any fortune teller to know her heart was being squeezed by the woman with magic.

Anger surged through Reagan when out of nowhere, his heart felt like it was being crushed by an invisible force which came from his little mate.

“King Reagan!” Elder Theresa’s voice was sharp. “If you do not release Elder Donaghy and do as we have said right now, it would be my pleasure to send you both to the afterlife!” She threatened in a serious tone. “I would advise you to think twice before making any move you would regret!”

Reagan’s jaws clenched in indignation. Seeing as their little woman was being used as bargaining chip, his wolf has been aggressively pushing to be let out, and he is on the verge of losing the fight. The fact that his bad-tempered wolf would turn the place into a blad bath the second he is let out, which would then mean an uncertain outcome for his little woman and himself; thus, he couldn’t afford to be reckless right now. Also, the witches aren’t the types to impulsively go against as that would mean one thing, big mistake.

Reagan glanced in the direction his little mate was and attempted to take a step forward, but the intensified squeezing of his heart made him rethink his decision.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you, King Reagan!” Elder Theresa cautioned. “Look around you, you are outnumbered!”

With that remark, Amelia then realised that they were surrounded by both the vampires, and more witches that had suddenly materialized out of nowhere.

The fact that these people were using her to get to Reagan, the feeling of helplessness she was getting from him through their mate bond, and knowing that, the reason he ended up in such a situation was because of her, Amelia couldn’t stop the tears that were streaming down her face. Just a while ago, they were happy and the whole place was blissful. Of course, she couldn’t deny the fact that everything felt too good to be real, because nothing decent such as this, has ever been the case for her. Thus, it was expected that their joyous moment was short-lived.

Her head dropped and she closed her eyes as more tears trickled down her thighs. “I am sorry I only brought you drawbacks! I am sorry to be a mate that is not able to fight alongside you! I am weak and will only weigh you down,” Amelia choked back her tears. “Please let the man go and let them do whatever they want with me, she stated.

Reagan’s heart ached to know she feels that way. Even more devastating to hear her breaking voice in his head. “You are not weak, love, don’t ever think that way again! Also, you have brought me nothing of a such. I have said this before, I would still choose you a million times over any other woman!” Reagan said earnestly with no regret at all. “What’s more, you do realise that if you die, I most certainly will die too?”

Reagan knew that fated mates would fully become connected in both body and soul after completing the mating process. However, he has marked her. And that alone, should bind their lives together as one. In addition to that, he has fed her his blood a couple of times, and he has also had a taste of hers when he imprinted on her last night, hence nothing could be more consecrated, and obligatory than that. He deduced.

Time stopped around Amelia the second she heard those words as it dawned on her that, she could be the cause of not just his hardships, but rather his death as well. She had completely forgotten they had mated, and he had marked her.

She bit hard on her lower lip to stop the sounds of her sobs as the aching in her soul intensified. “How come the way she should live her life, or who she should be with is still being decided by others? How could she allow herself to be the originator of his doom due to her inability to defend herself?” An inconceivable rage began surging inside Amelia at the thought of how the damn Elder was using her to get to him and crushing her heart with magic.

She had enough of being used as porn for other’s benefits. “Let go of my heart!” She said through greeted teeth, her head still flopped down, and her eyes still tightly shut.

Elder Theresa sneered. “You are in no position to make such demands!”

Reagan suddenly felt an unimaginable amount of fury swelled within him, and he was certain that it wasn’t from him, and neither was it from his wolf. Yes, he was enraged with everything that was going on, but not to that extent. Being that it wasn’t just any normal fury, but instead, it was dark. And there was only one explanation for that, her darkness was rising yet again. Only that this time, it was much worse than when she had wanted to take revenge on him thinking he had betrayed their bond; thus, he needed to do something before things gets out of control.
