Alaric's POV
"Would you like another serving?" I asked Chelsea.
She glared at me as she chewed on the last of the turkey's bone, I chuckled again, she looked cute like a baby who is irresistible, my wolf growled and I kept him under control, it wasn't easy to resist the urge to take her right there, she looked ravishing in the red dinner gown she wore, her exposed nape did unholy things to me.
"Why are you staring at me like I'm some kind of food?" She asked me.
"You look beautiful tonight." I commented.
"I know, it took hours to look this good." She replied.
"For me?" I asked excitedly.
She hissed and eyed me.
"If I had known this date was set-up for you and I, I would never agree to come." She said nonchalantly.
My heart shattered into pieces hearing her words.
" I had tried my possible best to please you and make you see that I really love you, why are you rejecting my love?" I asked her.
"You're forcing it on me, we have nothing going on between us." She retorted.
"I thought, we had some chemistry." I said sadly.
She spat out the red wine she was sipping as she burst into laughter.
"Chemistry? You've learnt new words I see." She said sarcastically.
I sighed, she was getting on my nerves by downgrading me and disregarding all my efforts, it hurt me but I decided to push all that aside and just enjoy the date with her.
"It's fine, would you like to order for anything else?" I asked.
"Yes please, I hate your face, not the food." She retorted sarcastically.
I smiled, her sarcastic remarks makes me somewhat happy, it showed she needed attitude to impress me.
"Bills on me." I told her.
She laughed.
"You? I doubt it, apart from your incredibly awesome dress sense tonight, I don't think you have anything else." She said.
"I bought this myself." I told her.
"I'd be damned, Torin paid for all these and probably for your dress too."
"Why? You think the cloth is too cool for me to purchase it with my own money or you think I do not have enough funds?"
"Wow, your vocabulary has improved, you do not speak ancient language anymore, I think you'd look good in anything, you're a chunk of handsomeness, Loki would be jealous of how hot you look." She complimented and then her hands flew to her mouth as she realized she had spewed out her emotions unknowingly.
I couldn't help but chuckle, it was obvious she found me attractive but she was trying hard not to only deny the fact but also hide her emotions, I could see a bit of her cleavage where I was seated and it made my body system react, It took a lot of willpower to hold back from ravishing her right there.
There was an easier way to make her succumb to my wishes, all I had to do was turn on the mate attraction and she'll be begging for my touch but she was surprisingly human, I know there's something else about her but then I'll let her find it out herself, but I chose to be romantic though it was hard to her and win her heart fair and square, it was working, and I needed was patience.
"How long are you going to keep up with this?" She asked me, jolting me out of my reverie.
"Keep up with what?" I asked her, confused.
"With all this."
"All of what?" I asked her and she gave me a 'seriously?' type of look.
I raised up my hands in confusion.
"What? I don't know what you're talking about, I swear." I said in my defense.
She scoffed.
"How long do you plan on hanging around me and playing like a child, you're an adult and I've told you several times that I am not interested in any of these and no matter what you do, I won't change my mind." She said seriously.
"I'll keep on confessing my love to you until you realize I'm saying the truth and you also come into the truth of you feeling the same." I said affirmatively.
She laughed briefly.
"You'll have to wait for forever I'm afraid, there's no way in hell I have feelings for you or whatever."
"I'll wait."
"Until when? Four, five, ten years?"
"I've been asleep for half a thousand years, you can possibly never make me wait that long."
"Still up with your fairy tales."
"You're in my fantasy and good Lord! If only you know the things you're doing to me." I said huskily.
"So you've switched form being all lovey dovey to being flirty and dirty?"
"Interesting right? I can switch to a thousand other things that would definitely intrigue you."
"No thanks, I'll pass."
"Chelsea, I love you."
"I know, I've heard that a thousand times already."
"And when do you plan on giving me a response?"
"I have, you're still stuck on this, I don't and won't ever love you or reciprocate your feelings so stop fooling around Alaric."
"Why are you being mean to me?"
"Probably because you aren't human for a start, and you have no history, that's strange and I do not feel any sort of attachments to you."
"You do, all you have to do is listen to your heart."
She burst into a fresh peal of laughter.
"Seriously Alaric? I mean this is all cool, you getting to know Torin, being romantic, looking handsome, setting up expensive dates and all but I tell you, you'd better save your strength for something better, me and you can never happen." She stated.
"Yes we can." I stood up and clapped twice, the lights suddenly dimmed and a slow romantic music began to play.
I walked over to her and offered her my hand.
"Shall we? Let's dance." I requested.
She smiled and consented, giving me her hands, she stood up and placed an arm on my shoulder while I held the other one and my free hand was on her waist, as I touched her, electric sparks were sent flying in my body, I cleared my throat and we slowly danced to the music.
I held her closer to me and she twirled around, I caught her by the waist and held her more closer with just few inches separating us, I could feel her breath which turned me on and see her cleavages much better than before.
"Dear goddess, have mercy!" I muttered to myself.
Chelsea's Pov
I heard Alaric mutter some word about mercy to himself, he held my waist and I felt hot, the place was cold but something boiled inside of me, his touch fired my emotions up and I almost got lost in his eyes, his breath on my face made my cheeks turn pink, I inwardly chastised myself, my other hand was free and I subconsciously began to touch his broad chest and shoulders.
My hands roamed his chest freely and I touched his abs, I imagined what they would look like underneath his shirt and I also pictured what Alaric would like without any clothes on, I gasped as I realized what I was doing; I was lusting after the man, he seemed to hear my thoughts as I heard him chuckle, I lifted my head to look at him.
"You can do whatever you want with me after." He said huskily and I felt my thighs quiver.
"Don't be so sure of yourself, what are you thinking of?" I asked him.
"Same thing you are thinking." He replied.
I looked away from him immediately, I was embarrassed, he had probably read my thoughts and it was dirty, he leaned in and our noses touched, my body shook instantly and I tried to take control of my hormones which began to instantly ache for him.
"I love you Chelsea, I swear to you that I do, I've made a mistake of not protecting you enough once, but now I'll never let you go." He said lowly.
"You're holding me this tight, how can I break free in the first place?" I joked.
I tried to laugh but my shaky voice betrayed me, it was obvious I wasn't in control any longer, he inched closer and I knew what was coming, I closed my eyes and pouted my lips in anticipation of a kiss, I could swear I could feel his lips on mine and when I expected it, he suddenly chuckled and pulled away, my eyes flew open to see him smiling at me.
I was weirdly angry as I ached for his kiss but he simply let go of me and took a step backwards, I was infuriated, how dare he make me this riled up only to back off at the last minute?
"What are you doing?" I asked him angrily.
"You claim not to love me but see? You're aching for my touch."
