Chelsea's POV
I know what you are thinking. They do have a point as to me eating a lot. So why exactly am I eating this much? The answer is, I don't know. I am as lost as everyone. I have not felt full in days and I usually stress eat when I am anxious and at the moment, Torin being nice to me has me on edge.
I am back home, sitting on the couch, stuffing my face with popcorn and watching the saddest movie I could find. The fault in our stars. I presently have about four empty bags of popcorn and two empty packs of chips. I am still eating, and I am extremely hormonal and it is nerve wrecking.
I'm still a wreck when the doorbell rings.
"Go away!" I shout. It can't be any of my family members because they all have a key, so they would not even bother ringing the doorbell. Every one else can shove it. I'm going back to my movie when the doorbell rings again. This person is really getting on my nerves.
"What?!" I snap immediately I open the door.
"Uhmm, hi." Torin says and I shut the door in his face the moment I realize it is him at the door. I am a complete mess. I look at the sitting room to see that I have completely destroyed it.
Torin keeps ringing the door bell and I am so tempted to go out the door and sucker punch him, but instead, I focus on the current task at hand, cleaning up my mess.
I finish up quickly, put on a new change of clothes, pick a bottle of water, and head back to the door.
"Took you... Ouch!" He says as I open the door and throw the water bottle at his head. "What was that for?" He asks and I give him a look. He follows me to the parlor and that is when I realize something.
"What are you doing here?" I ask. "Wait, and how did you find my house?"
"Oh I just followed your sce..." he starts to say but clears his throat. "I have my ways."
"Come to finish up the job?" I ask as he pokes at everything around him. Inspecting them like a curious cat. I bet he is judging every nook and cranny of this house.
"What job?" He asks confused.
"I don't know. I'm still trying to guess whether or not you are trying to find the perfect time to kill me." I say and he shakes his head in disbelief and plops himself on one of the couches. "But if you are going to though, make sure the end result is pretty. I don't want to look like a ghastly disaster when my body is found."
"Noted." He says, his voice laced with amusement. "What else do you need?" He asks, "I mean before I finish up the job." He air quotes.
"Don't make a mess. My mum would hunt you down and kill you, then she would hunt me down in the land of the dead and kill me again, if you make a mess on her rug."
"Wow. Your mom would care more about her rug than you being dead?" He asks with a smirk.
"You have absolutely no idea." I answer with a smirk of my own.
"Yes ma'am. What else?" He asks.
"Stop being so goddamn cocky. Juice?" I ask and turn to head to the refrigerator to get a drink.
"Uhh.. Sure." He answers, following me to the kitchen and leaning on the kitchen island.
"So, on a serious note. Why exactly are you here?" I ask and hand him his drink. "I no longer care how you got my address." I add.
"We have a project to work on remember?" He asks with a tone that reads, 'duh! Why else would I be in your house?'
I groan out painfully.
"We could have easily done it in school. Come on."
"I know. But I am free right now." He says with a bored expression. "And obviously, so are you." He adds a little too self righteously.
"You are officially a pain in my ass."
"Well I'm glad I can be something in your ass."
"Ewww. Do not flirt. It is weird. You just being nice to me already creeps me the hell out. Do not add flirting to the mix." I say with disgust written all over my face, which makes him laugh.
Wow. First I got a smile, then a chuckle, and a smirk, and now, actual freaking laughter. I am not keeping tabs or anything, but I must really be good. Or maybe I am just growing on him.
"I am sorry." He says when his laughter finally settles down. "I am just a naturally flirty person."
"No, you are not." I counter a little too quickly.
"What do you mean?"
"You are not a naturally flirty person. You are a naturally broody and sort of standoffish person." I respond.
"Well, maybe I have changed." He answers a little defensively.
"Overnight?" I ask in disbelief. "Not possible,” I add.
"Not impossible either." He says with a wink. Oh, Christ.
"So what you are trying to tell me is, you had a life-changing revelation and you all of a sudden decided to be nice. And all this while I have known you, you have been a very flirty person." I ask unconvinced.
"Yup. Everything you just said. Exactly the way you said it."
"That is a whole load of bullshit,” I say relaxing back into my seat.
"You can believe whatever you want to. Not gonna change the truth."
"And who says your truth is the only truth there is?"
"There can't be two truths Chels. Especially when it comes to me."
"Whatever," I say in defeat.
"You are a sore loser." He says out of the blue. I didn't know we were having winners and losers in this conversation.
"Well, you are a very pride-filled asshole," I say in defense.
"At least I take pride in it." He says with a very annoying and aggravating smirk plastered on his face.
"Did you come over here to do homework or piss me off till I kick you out of my house?" I ask turning serious.
"Homework ma'am." He says, raising his hands in mock surrender.
