Your beautiful face

Your beautiful face
ALEXANDER'S POV

I woke to an empty bed again and nearly panicked as I sat up in a hurry and jumped out of bed. I threw my clothes on as quickly as I could from the day before. I didn't have time to change into fresh clothes because I was in a hurry to find Melissa. All I could think about was that damn empty closet and how I felt that day and the days that followed. I never wanted to feel that pain ever again.

And just when I ripped open the door, I heard Melissa's laugh echo up the stairs and into my ears. I let out a sigh of relief as I pushed into the hallway and went downstairs. I heard her, but I still needed to see her.

She was in the kitchen, flipping pancakes with Damien and Johnny sat at the counter drinking coffee and still looking through boxes from the office.

I cleared my throat as Evie spun, smiling warmly at me.

"Good morning. Coffee?"

I shook my head. I didn't want coffee. I wanted her.

I rounded the island and placed my hands on her hips, forcing her to look at me. She held the dirty spatula away from me as she looked up into my gaze. Her brows rose with confusion before she let out a small chuckle. I lowered my face and lightly kissed her lips, careful not to hurt her before I leaned my forehead against hers and inhaled her scent.

"I thought you left."

She tensed beneath me and I instinctively held her tighter. I wasn't letting her go this time. No way in hell.

Damien cleared his throat. "She's still here. Relax, big guy."

I growled, turning to glare at him. "Do you mind? I'm having a private talk with my girl."

Laughing, Damien shook his head. "It isn't exactly private when you're right here in front of us."

"Then get out," I growled.

Melissa slapped my bicep with her spatula, stepping away from me.

"Stop it, children." She winked at me. "I'm not going anywhere. I was just hungry." She went back to the pancakes, turning away from me.

My heart clenched in my chest as I watched her turn away. Even though she said she wasn't going anywhere, I still had a hard time believing it. After all, she could still run off. Hell, she could run off with Damien or Johnny and I'd be right back to where I was six months ago. Lost and completely clueless on where to find her. The only way I found her this time was because she called the clubhouse and I traced her call. If it wasn't for that, would I have ever found her? Would I have found her before Milo killed her?"

No, I shook my head, pushing those nightmarish thoughts from my mind. I wouldn't ever think about that again. As long as I was here, that bastard wasn't going to get within a hundred feet of my girl. I would take a bullet for her. I would murder for her. Fuck, I would die for her.

"I need to make a call." I went out onto the patio, closing the door behind me.

The clubhouse phone rang three times before someone answered.

"This is Mandi."

"Mandi, it's Alexander."

"Ugh! Thank God! Have you found her?"

"Yeah." I took a deep breath. "Is Gearhead heading this way yet?"

"Um, he actually left last night. He said he wanted to leave earlier to get there sooner," Mandi paused. "How are you doing, babe?"

I grunted into the phone. "It's going to be a lot trickier than I thought it was going to be, but tell Axel that she's safe now and we'll have her home soon. I have to go, though. Talk later?"

"Okay."

I hung up before she could continue. I didn't have time for her shit right now, and just when I shoved my phone back into my pocket, I heard the familiar rumble of a bike. I ran around the side of the condo to the front and found Gearhead shutting off his bike, standing to stretch as he saw me and grinned.

"Fuck, man. You weren't kidding about that ride. That was fucking gruesome. I feel like my nuts are shoved up inside of me." He grabbed at his crotch and wiggled his balls loose.

I laughed, walking up to my brother as we grabbed hands and slapped each other on the back.

"You made it here in record time. I wasn't expecting you until at least tomorrow morning."

He shrugged. "I got done with what Axel wanted me to get done with and thought I'd head this way early. Plus, I needed to see Melissa with my own two eyes," he paused and studied me. "How is she?"

I looked at the busy street at all the cars driving by, not able to make eye contact with him.

"You'll see for yourself. Come on, she's inside."

Gearhead followed me up the sidewalk and inside before I shut and locked the door behind us. I was glad to have my brother here with me. I was glad to finally have someone I trusted on my side to help take care of Melissa.

MELISSA'S POV

I tossed the last pancake onto the plate before I sun toward the island and nearly dropped the others when I saw Gearhead. I wasn't going to cry! I didn't think I would feel this happy to see him, have him here in my kitchen, here with Alexander. His black leather cut was a sight for sore eyes and I tossed the plate down on the counter before I ran around and threw my arms around his neck.

Gearhead laughed as he picked me up, but I cried out in pain before he immediately dropped me.

"Hey, you okay?"

I nervously nodded. "It's just my ribs. They're still a bit sore." I kept my face down, too shy for him to see my cuts and bruises, but then Gearhead grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him.

"What the hell happened to your beautiful face?"

My cheeks turned five shades redder as I jerked my chin away and turned back to the island. I looked up at Damien and Johnny who were staring at Gearhead with confusion.

"There's another one of them?" Damien asked, pointing at Gearhead.

I was thankful that Gearhead wasn't quite the asslike like Alexander was as I watched Gearhead grin at Damien and stick his hand out for a shake.
