Fifty one

Natalia.

Seated on the chair in the room where I was tied up, my eyes water. Tears fell as they had never before, I was being dressed up to be wedded to a vampire, and I was wearing a red gown with a veil over my head, something I had never imagined to happen to me was about to take place. I was honestly scared and didn’t know why I was weak. Rome was being kept hostage and Nyx was nowhere to be found.

“Don’t cry my little bride, as soon as I’m done with you I’ll set you free!” He said, then graced his palm on my cheek.

“Let me go!” I yelled, I pushed his arm away from my cheeks with my head.

“Hmm, whatever you say, my bride.” He said. I spat on the floor.

“You’re evil! How can you do that to your little brother?” I yelled at him, he immediately slapped me across the face.

“You know nothing you little brat, so keep your stinking mouth shut.” He snapped at me.

“You’re a coward, you took my fire away, and you’re scared of me,” I said with a big smirk on my face. He chuckled and graced my cheeks one last time.

“Oh darling, I’m not scared of you, I just wanna make sure you don’t escape.” He said, his hands were cold, they disgusted me a lot.

“DARAH!” He yelled, his voice echoing through the castle. A male vampire immediately ran in.

“Yes, my king!” He said.

“Untie her and bring her to the altar.” He commanded. Darah looked very anxious, he seemed to be scared of me.

“Don’t you dare fucking touch me you leach!” I snapped at Darah, he didn’t say a thing, he moved back a bit.

“My King, she’s a dragon, she can hurt me,” Darah said, his eyes looked scared, he didn’t look like he wanted to be a part of any of this.

“Are you trying to defy me Darah?” Damien asked, Darah nodded no, and he moved forward and gently tried to untie me, I struggled to hit him but I failed miserably because it was only making me sustain more injuries. Darah untied me and I landed a punch in his face. Suddenly I felt my bones breaking once again, I fell to the ground with a scream emanating from my lips. My head pounded badly, I didn’t even understand what was going on with me. My heart felt like it was wrecking, and tears cascaded down my eyes.

“Pick her up!” He commanded Darah who helped me stand to my feet. He stared at me pitifully, I was helpless.

“The next time you try to act smart, I’ll make sure I break your bones to the extent that I’ll be beyond repairs, don’t make me angry Natalia.” He warned. I didn’t respond to him, but instead, I felt my hands breaking once again.

“Please, stop this, I won’t go against you any longer.” I pleaded. He stopped and the pain immediately subsided.

“Take her to the alter, don’t be late.” He said to Darah, he nodded in respect, while Damien disappeared into thin air.

“Don’t do this,” I said to Darah, he sighed and then stared at me with great pity in his eyes.

“The only person that can defeat him is the Alpha King,” Darah said as he helped me begin to walk.

“You also hate him right?” I asked and Darah nodded.

“Everyone hates him, he is evil,” Darah said in a whisper. “I can help you.” He informed me.

“How?” I asked.

“The only way to stop him is by freeing the Alpha King, he’ll stop him,” Darah said.

“But how do we set Rome free?” I asked, and he sighed.

“By breaking the spell he put on Rome, Damien uses an ancient black magic and that’s the only magic that can make The Alpha king weak.” He explained we took a turn.

“How do we break the spell then?” I asked.

“Your fire, you’re a royal dragon, like me.” He said. I gasped.

“No, there is no way, all the dragons died,” I said.

“I’m a hybrid, my dad was the cousin of the dragon king,” He explained.

“That means we are related.” I declared and he nodded.

“My man is Darah Lycus.” He said. He smiled calmly.

“Oh my God, you’re my second cousin,” I said in excitement, he was quick to shush me.

“Don’t be too loud, Damien might hear us” Darah warned.

“How doesn’t he know you’re a royal

dragon?” I asked.

“My mother made sure of it, she’s a vampire.” He said, I nodded. “My dragon just spoke to yours, he can help you unlock your inner dragon.” He said.

“Inner dragon, what’s that?” I asked.

“The one that you transform into? You do know that royal dragons have two dragons right?” He asked. I had to pause out of shock.

“I never knew that,”

I said. “Did you know about that Bradox?” I asked and he nodded no, the lack of connection to his fire was beginning to take a toll on him.

“You can summon it yourself, you just have to be true to

yourself, okay? With the power, we can free the Alpha King.” He explained.

“Okay, why is the alter so far?” I asked. He sighed.

“The castle is really big.” He said. I sighed, I hate all this. “One more thing,” He looked serious when he said that.

“Don’t use your powers on Damien, he can take it.”

He said, I nodded.

“But then why does he wanna marry me in other to take my powers if he can easily get them when I use them on him?” I asked.

“Damien wants you to have his children, that’s why he wants to marry you, not for your powers.” He explained, I gasped lightly.

“He’s very evil,” I said and he nodded.

“The only reason he wants your powers is to free Damon and get his powers, that’s his plan” He explained. I nodded, and that explained a lot, I must try my very best to ensure that he doesn’t get a hold of my powers.

We arrived at a big door, which was gigantic, and stared back at us with big pearls at the knob. “Good luck, don’t let him win, save us all,” Darah said, there was so much hope in his eyes as he said that, it gave me the courage I needed, I was going to try my best and set Rome free.

“Open!” Darah said softly and the big door began to open, I lifted the hem of my dress up.

“Oh, inner dragon, I need you,” I muttered. The door fully opened and there sat Damien, he had a wide grin on his face as he stared at me. There was no doubt he was excited about whatever was gonna take place.

“Good luck,” Darah whispered to me. I nodded. Suddenly, I began floating in the air, Damien was controlling me, he managed to drop me on a chair next to him.

“You look beautiful, my bride.” He said, I forced a smile.

“Uhm, I’m glad you’re smiling.” He said with a grin on his face. I wish I could slap it right off.

“Bring in the sorcerer!” He yelled, his voice echoing through the castle once again. “And, the Alpha King.” He commanded, my heart skipped a beat when he made mention of Rome.

Suddenly, a group of men made their way in with an old man trailing behind them. I was certain it was the poor sorcerer, the man looked uninterested in whatever was about to take place at the moment. Another group of men came in and they held a tied-up Rome in their arms. He was still unconscious, I was sure the spell had a great impact on him.

They dropped Rome slowly and the sorcerer made its way over to us. “Please inner dragon, take control!” I begged in my mind, my heart was beating at an unimaginable pace.

“You shall begin the ceremony,” Damien commanded the priest, he nodded and began to say something. He brought out a bowl and a knife and made his way toward us.

“We need her mate's heart in other to clear the mark on her chest.” The sorcerer said, my heart skipped a beat.

“No, don’t do that, you can’t take out his heart, he is your brother for crying out loud,” I said to Damien, he didn’t even look like he was interested in anything I had to say.

“Proceed!” He said cold-heartedly. The sorcerer picked up an ax from the table where it was lying. He walked over to Rome.

“First, cut his head off, that is the only way you can kill him and get his heart,” Damien said, I immediately stood to my feet.

“Please don’t do that to him,” I cried out loud.

“You better sit down now!” Damien commanded.

“No, I won’t, I love that man!” I yelled, Damien immediately snapped his finger and my bones began to break once again, I fell to the ground.

“Inner dragon!” I called out softly, but there was no voice. My head was empty and my body was trembling.

“Natalia!” I heard a faint voice in my head, it was the voice of a woman.

“Inner dragon?” I called in my head.

“Call me Winx, I’m here to save you,” She said. I felt my body begin to shift, it was something I had never felt before.

“It can’t be!” Those were the words I heard Damien say.
