Forty nine

Rome.

The meeting was being held in the main hall, I was seated with the members of the board and discussing our new plans for the company. I wasn’t interested in this, but I had to just pretend as though I cared.

“Mr. Lethal, do you agree with Mr. Alice’s decision?” A bald man asked, I didn’t even understand what he was speaking of, my mind wasn’t here, so I had to use my powers to hear what he had said.

“Yes, I agree, it’s fantastic-” I paused when I felt a pain in my chest, Blaze also felt it, which meant our mate was in danger or scared. I immediately got up to my feet and stormed out of the meeting room, I walked straight towards the reception area where I thought she’d be, but she wasn’t there.

“Where’s my wife?” I asked the receptionist, she looked very confused.

“The woman I came in with,” I said, the receptionist soon realized.

“I don’t know sir, maybe she went outside for a walk.” She said and I soon found myself running towards the exit, I ran out of the company and headed for the streets, I could feel her aura lurking around.

‘Rome, I smell vampire magic’ Blaze said, I nodded, I could smell it as well, which could only mean one thing, Natalia was taken by them. My mind suddenly drifted back to the time when they had tried getting into my territory, they must have kidnapped her.

“We have to get back to the werewolf territory, I’m sure their reason for taking Natalia isn’t going to be good for any of us,” I said to Blaze, I saw him nod in my head. I immediately cast a blocking spell and teleported out of there, I immediately appeared in front of the packhouse. As soon as the guards saw me, they all ran to me and bowed their heads slightly.

“Get the cars ready, we are going to the vampire's territory,” I said, they looked shocked and confused at the same time, but they dared not say no, they immediately scurried away while I walked into the packhouse, I walked into my office where I found Dimitri seated with a bunch of paperwork on his lap.

“You’re here early, what happened!?” Dimitri asked worriedly, judging from the look on my face.

“Natalia has been kidnapped by the vampires!” I said, he stood up calmly in shock.

“She’s the one they were searching for,”

He said in realization.

“And I know what they need from her and we must try our best to stop them from getting her fire,” I said, Dimitri, nodded. He understood very well what I meant.

“What is it I heard about Natalia? What’s wrong?” Hazel walked in with a very worried facial expression.

“She was taken by the vampires, and it seems they want her fire,” Dimitri explained.

“But why?” Hazel asked.

“They wanna set DAMON free!” I announced and she gasped.

“But you killed him, there isn’t a way to bring him back, or is there?” She asked, I sadly nodded yes.

“I never killed Damon, I only set him on a freezing spell,” I said.

“They need her fire to set him free then, right?” She asked and I nodded.

“That’s going to create havoc, he’s going to try and get his revenge on us all.” She said, I nodded, she was right.

“I’m leaving today, I need to save her before they-” I paused and instantly fell to the ground. I felt my bones breaking, it was as if it was being crushed. It was nothing I couldn’t take, but I knew Natalia was in pain and that hurt me a lot.

“Natalia!” I screamed as my bones crushed again.

“What is wrong?” I heard Dimitri ask. I looked up and instantly saw black magic looking through, someone was watching me.

“I need to go save her,” I said, I struggled to get up on my feet and felt another crack.

“What is wrong Rome?” Hazel asked as I fell to the ground.

“He is hurting her, he keeps crushing her bones,” I said, I got up calmly.

“I’ll see you two soon, I need to go save my mate,” I said.

“I’ll come with you Rome, this battle isn’t yours alone,” Dimitri said, I nodded no.

“You can’t come with me, it’s too dangerous and I’m sure Damien’s powers have gone stronger now,” I said, he nodded.

“Stay here, my people need their Beta, I’ll be back,” I said and he nodded, I hugged my sister and then snapped my finger.

I teleported into my car and immediately ignited it, I could have easily used powers to get to their territory but no, it was protected by an evil force of magic that would never let pure magic penetrate. I had to drive alone in order to save my mate, there was no way I was going to let Damien hurt her and take her powers, only God knows what he has done to her by now.

“Blaze, do you think we can get there through the mind portal?” I asked.

‘Osaki is the one you should be asking, he has control over your powers!’ Blaze said. Osaki was not ready to speak to me, so it was foolish to bother me.

‘Rome, just make sure not to use black magic, it will destroy you.’ Blaze warned, I nodded as I took a turn.

There was no way I was going to use black magic, I can’t let history repeat itself, I can’t destroy people again, and I can’t be the cause of families losing their loved ones.

I drove for like an hour until I came to a stop before a huge border that stared back at me. The minute the vampires sighed at my car, they ran over to inspect it in a quick motion.

“Move away from him, it’s the Lethal King, he’ll kill us all,” A vampire yelled.

“I’m here to meet your king, where is he?” I asked, I was sure my eyes had changed color.

“Here I am, Brother!” I heard him say.
