Very Well

Very Well
Once I was done, I got out of the restroom. This time, Olivia wasn’t in my room.

By the time I was done applying skincare and changing into clothes, Olivia had returned while carrying little Elsher.

My heart melted upon seeing the adorable Elsher. “Little Sher is so adorable.”

Immediately, I reached out for her and gently carried her. My heart melted.

“When will you be due?” Olivia looked at my stomach.

“In less than a month, I think.”

“It’s interesting how your stomach didn’t bulge so much. Your baby is so strong, still there despite all you went through.” Olivia looked at my stomach.

I nodded my head. “Actually, I was beginning to get worried, but once the baby heard Verlice’s voice, the baby kicked for the first time.”

“Really? That’s amazing.” She looked at me worriedly. “You didn’t feel weak or something?”

I shook my head. “I haven’t paid attention. I have been sleeping all month. I can’t wait to recover,” I revealed while playing with mini Elsher.

She giggled at me while blowing bubbles.

I smiled and bragged, “She looks like me. Look at those eyebrows. They’re perfectly mine.”

Olivia pressed her lips together sarcastically. “Why don’t you say your blood is running through her too?”

I stuck out my lips at her. “Don’t be jealous. We even have the same name. My goddaughter—I’ll be sure to spoil her to no end,” I happily spoke.

Olivia shook her head. She simply sat back and watched me play with Elsher.

I began to tell her everything about my interaction with Verlice and all what Tiara had done too.

“I can’t wait to see Tiara receive her karma.”

I nodded. “Right now, I don’t know what Verlice is planning, but I bet he has something worse in store. She’s completely dead.”

That was true. Verlice was so badass that he even got her to spill what she had done without her knowing. I think she would thank her lucky star if I was the one who handled her.

“It seems there’s some drama that will unfold tomorrow. I can’t wait to see that bitch Tiara’s face,” Olivia grinned.

Me too. I couldn’t wait to see what she had planned in store and how she was so brave to dare to show her face in my presence.

Soon, baby Elsher fell asleep in my hand. We gently placed her on the bed and continued to chat. I didn’t even know when I fell asleep.

But what I knew was that I felt completely at home, like I had never felt before in months. And I slept like a log.

Ring ring! Ring!

“Elsher, pick up your phone,” Olivia groaned.

I yawned and picked up the pillow, using it to cover my ears.

“I haven’t even seen my phone,” I groaned.

“It’s my phone? Who the hell is disrupting my peaceful sleep?” Olivia growled and roused from sleep.

I began to drift back to sleep.

“It’s Verlice. He must want to talk to you.” Olivia suddenly shoved the phone at the pillow and fell flat on her back.

“Verlice?” The sleepiness disappeared from my eyes, and I picked up the call. “Ver… Verlice.”

“Are you sleeping?” Verlice’s gentle voice drifted into my ear.

It was at that moment that I realized, “This is the first time we are speaking on the phone.” My mind softened.

I couldn’t imagine not seeing him again.

“Hm,” Verlice calmly responded.

“So… how was your date with Tiara?” I lay on my back and propped my head.

“Elsher, if you want to talk, just get out,” Olivia growled unhappily.

“How can you already give me attitude within the first day? This is my room.” I pursed my lips.

“Your room is mine. And I’m telling you to get out of my room,” she grumbled.

I shook my head, stood up, and walked out of my room. I walked to the verandah and looked at the beautiful starry pack.

There was really no place like home.

“You shouldn’t have made me go on the date,” Verlice grumbled unhappily like a child.

My lips curved up, and I chuckled. “Verlice, the date had been arranged. If I wasn’t there, both of you would go on a date.”

“It’s different now. You’re here. I can’t stand her.” Verlice’s voice was filled with stress.

I couldn’t guess how much stress he had gone through in the past. Verlice had to pretend that he didn’t care about me, and while at it, he had to worry about the pack, follow Tiara, and lastly watch over my starry pack.

“Thank you.” If it wasn’t for Verlice, I couldn’t imagine what would have happened to my starry pack.

I had been gone for almost three months; it was more than enough time for anything to happen.

If Verlice had bad thoughts toward me, he could have used that chance to take over my pack too.

“I didn’t do enough…”

“No, you perfectly did more than I could have ever expected. You saved my pack. Thank you,” I seriously spoke.

“How are you settling in?”

“It’s been beautiful and fun. Ah, Olivia’s baby’s name is Elsher. Isn’t that cute?”

“It is.” After a few seconds, Verlice pronounced, “I miss you. I want to see your face.”

My lips curved up in a wide and sweet smile, and I retorted, “Are you asking me to come over?”

Verlice chuckled. “I wanted to mention video calling, but I think I’d rather spend the night with you in my arms.”

“Verlice, why didn’t I know that you were this cheesy?” I rolled my eyes, yet I couldn’t help the sweetness that pervaded my whole being. It was a sweet type of cheesiness.

“Now you know.” Verlice’s voice was smug, yet I couldn’t get annoyed at all. I cast my spell and appeared right in our bedroom.

Currently, Verlice was standing at the balcony. He didn’t notice my presence.

I tiptoed and wrapped my hands around his strong and lean waist and placed my lips next to his ear. “Did you miss me?”

“Sher.” Verlice turned and wrapped his hands around my waist. He drew me closer and captured my lips.

My stomach growled loudly, causing us to break our kiss. “Haven’t you eaten?” Verlice looked at me.

I rubbed my hands around my stomach. “No, I haven’t eaten since last night. I have missed your food so much. Cook for me, Verlice.”

“Very well, Your Highness. Rest in bed as I make dinner.” Verlice picked me up and walked toward the bedroom. He gently placed me on the bed.

“Verlice, I lost my phone during the attack at Tiara’s place. I used my leg to kick it under one of her sofas. It should still be there.”

“I called your number then. She should have noticed it…”

“I tend to place my phone on silent and dim the light ever since I realized I was pregnant. I don’t think so,” I mumbled.

“I will send a guard to check it out,” Verlice said.

Judging by his tone, I couldn’t help but ask, “Right now?”

“Yes.” Verlice nodded indifferently.

I jumped up from the bed. “If you retrieve it right now, Tiara would be suspicious.”

“Let her be,” Verlice indifferently said. I frowned and parted my lips.
