I am so sorry

I am so sorry
The first thing that invaded my sight was the white ceiling and the white curtains that had always been pulled down, to shield me from the witch clan.
I have to get to Verlice now. That was the first thought that hit me bare in the heart.
“Congratulations on recovering your memory, Elsher Caddel.” Elena giggled like a child.
Happiness pervaded my heart. “Elena! I have missed you so much… all my life.”
All my life, I’d wondered if I'd ever get a wolf…
Luckily, my wolf appeared during that whole event with Tiara, which was the reason I was able to escape with just an injury.
If May and the witch clan hadn't come across me or discovered me,
I would have healed and been back at the Starry Pack and Verlice's side if Tiara hadn't woken before me.
Beta Eric, Oliver, Olivia. Just the thought of how worried they would be made my heart grip. I miss them. I miss them so much.
“Elena, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for letting you and our mate and pup down.”
“No, Elsher. I came too late. I have always been here with you. I just couldn't show up until there was that trigger…”
“Oliver was right after all. All I needed was a trigger.”
“What’s next? The witch clan. Everything. You have recovered your memory and also your strength. How interesting would it be if they know!” Elena grinned.
I could see that she was interested in causing trouble.
May deserved whatever Elena and I did to her. She was crazy to give me a memory-loss concoction.
I remembered I had blacked out from attacking Tiara.
But I woke up first, feeling weak all over while Tiara was still out from the attack.
I couldn't open my eyes or lift any part of my body, but I believed that I would heal.
It was then that a figure arrived. I didn't know how that figure found us.
I remembered that I had been afraid that someone I didn't know would have my fate in their hands.
But I had blacked out by the time the person carried me away.
“I don't need to tell them. No. I won't tell them,” I spoke.
“What are you planning now, Elsher?” Elena grinned, very invested.
Oh goddess. Turns out this is what it feels like to have your wolf. Your wolf is like your friend, your sister, your part of yourself. I could do this forever.
I wish Elena had appeared earlier. I wouldn't have been in the situation I was in. I know she wouldn't have made me take this reckless decision myself.
“To shake the witch clan up.” My lips curved up in a sneer.
“You're awake. You're awake, Elsher.” May suddenly stepped forward and looked at me with several emotions I couldn't register yet.
A bandage was wrapped around her neck. Definitely from the actions earlier.
My gaze fell on May. I blinked my eyes as if I was trying to get used to the room’s brightness and register my current situation.
I spoke in a hoarse and weak voice. “May, what happened to me? Why does my body hurt so much?”
“Oh goddess, Elsher. You're so badass. You keep getting good at it.” Elena burst into laughter, almost making me lose my façade.
“It’s not my fault. They started the drama. It’d be bad to let them do a one-man show.” I smiled faintly.
May looked slightly relieved and she took a step toward me. “You don't remember what happened?”
I shook my head and frowned. “Did something happen to me? Did I do something wrong? Did I try to escape again? Oh goddess, May, I am so sorry…” I started to speak in a rush, my voice filled with panic.
May shook her head and all the emotions in her eyes turned to relief. “No, not at all. None of that happened, Elsher.” She held my head and spoke in a gentle voice. “Try to remember what you did last and tell me if you feel any changes in your body.”
I fell quiet and tried to do as May said. I bit my lower lip and carefully explained, “I remember reading the whole book and asking that lady to bring me a new book and healing concoction. I can't remember anything more. Maybe I fell asleep?” I cocked my head and pretended to want to recall more.
May held my hand and gently spoke. “That's exactly what happened. You didn't cause any trouble or try to escape. You can't even leave the bed. How can you try to run away?” She tried to convince me.
I sighed in relief. “I was briefly afraid. Luckily, none of that happened.” I pointed toward May’s neck. “May, did something happen to you? Why would you put that…”
May smiled gently. “Nothing, Elsher. I was practicing some new spell I read in a book and it backfired. It'll be gone in three days.”
“I'm so sorry, May. You're so hardworking for the clan and for people. I wish I was strong enough to walk and help with the clan affairs.” I spoke in such a sweet and caring voice.
May looked at me and stroked my hand. “Elsher, it’s alright. All you have to do is follow my lead. I have decided to help with a speedy recovery. Within two weeks, you should heal.”
My eyes lit up and I held May's hand with joy. “I would be able to use my legs? I would become powerful again?” I exclaimed.
May nodded her head. “Yes.”
“Thank you, May. I'm so grateful. I promise I'll listen to you this time and will never run around causing trouble again,” I said in a sincere voice.
May looked relieved and said, “You should sleep some more and rest. You read too many books yesterday. I'll take my leave now.”
With that, May walked out of the room.
My lips curved up in a cold smile, and I walked out of the bed to make use of my legs.
I tried to feel my strength, and I could feel a tremendous power lying in my core.
It's so overwhelming.
I really couldn't fathom my strength now.
Not anymore.
