Chapter 82 The first talk
>>Killian
This isn't good.
She seems to have taken a liking to that dud with a man-bun. I brought my thumb to my mouth and chewed my nail.
Oh GOD! I didn't expect things would turn this bad! It was meant to be a little teasing!! All I wanted was for her to come to me and ask me to be her partner! Not to pair up with some other wolf!!
Jealousy was a bitter taste, one that I hadn't expected to feel so strongly. A wave of insecurity washed over me. It was an unwelcome emotion, one that seemed to arise without warning, and I struggled to contain the surge of unease that washed over me.
But every second of watching her smile at another man made my inside burn.
I gritted my teeth
I can't let this continue. I turned around, took off my clothes and shifted. I'm going to need some assistance to get him away from my mate!!!
>>Amara
Logan seemed like a nice person.
"You can paint this," He showed me a view of a clearing with a fawn asleep in it, basking in the sunlight being filtered through the , "It's pretty." I didn't even tell him to but he was helping me out in finding a good view that I could paint.
I shook my head at him, then typed on my phone, 'I have to draw something related to the hunt. Not simple views, or animals sleeping.'
"AH~" He nodded and placed his hands on his waist, "I see," He kept looking around wondering if he could find something better for me.
I smiled when I looked at him. He's such a sweetheart.
"Well," He looked back at me, "We've walked a lot, we can go further in but it's only going to get dangerous from here." He looked at the sky, "The sun will start going down soon too."
I paused at his words as a thought crossed my mind.
'Don't you have to hunt?' I asked, 'You shouldn't mind me,' I felt bad now that I was thinking about it, 'You should focus on your own thing.'
GOSH!
He spent so much time with me and he didn't hunt at all! Hell! He didn't even shift.
But contrary to my worrying, he just chuckled in return, "It's fine, we got three more days!"
'But, you'll be behind other people who started today!'
He smiled looking at my concerned face, "The hunt isn't necessarily about winning," His expression was soft, "It's mainly about getting in touch with our primal nature."
OH!
His words made me feel something
I see
I nodded at him.
That was interesting
"Shall we go further?" He extended his hand to me and I nodded but before I could take his hand, something happened.
Out of the blue, the cozy atmosphere of the forest shifted. A low growl echoed through the trees as a guttural warning. I felt a shiver run down my spine, my heart skipping a beat as my gaze darted around, searching for the source of the sound.
Logan found the source faster than me and we both looked North.
Before I could react, a pack of wolves emerged from the bushes, their eyes fierce and their fur bristling with aggression. Panic surged within me, my mind racing to process the sudden threat that had materialized before us. In an instant, the serene forest had transformed into a tense scene.
Fear coursed through my veins as I looked back at the pack of wild wolves. They were looking at us as if we had stepped into their territory.
"Amara," Logan called my name, "This looks a bit dangerous." He said and started to step back, "Move," He raised his hands up in the air, "We mean no harm!" He told the wolves but they didn't calm down. So the both of us started stepping away.
But the wolves were relentless, they jumped to attack us nonetheless.
Two of the wolves jumped at Logan who panicked and started to shift but before he could pull himself together, the wolves caused him to roll away, down the mountain
LOGAN!!
I wanted to run behind him but the wild wolves came running to my direction, causing me to run in the opposite direction to where Logan fell
Branches scraped against my skin, and the ground seemed to shift beneath my feet. My thoughts raced, my breath coming in ragged gasps, as I fought to stay on my feet and evade the pack.
Why!?!? Why are the wolves suddenly attacking us?!? We're wolves too, they should recognize their own!!! Are they mad at us for coming here or something?!?
Oh God...
At this rate, I'll be all alone again!!
>>Killian
Being an Alpha werewolf has its perks. Being a pure breed has even more. All I had to do was shift and call the wolves in the forest and ask them to do a simple task for me.
It was simple because if wolves were chasing you, anyone would assume it could be because you were on their territory. Wolves are territorial after all.
I was in my wolf form and stayed far away as the wild pack did their job. I'm sure they'll be able to get the weirdo away from my mate in no time.
I hummed in delight for a while as I lay on all fours enjoying the pleasant weather of the forest.
...
Wait
Then a thought crossed my mind.
I did tell them to do anything to separate them but what if they hurt Amara too!?
I stood up in fear
!!!
Oh Shit!!
I started sprinting in their direction.
OH YOU IDIOT!!! I should have thought things through!!!
I sped my way through the forest. With each passing moment, my imagination conjured up increasingly dire scenarios. What if the wolves had misunderstood their task? What if their presence had inadvertently led to a more dangerous situation?
The desire to ensure her safety warred with the fear that my actions had only compounded the risks
OH! SHIT! OH! SHIT!
I better hurry!!
I jumped over the obstacles, my senses on high alert, and it didn't take me much time to reach her since I wasn't that far away from them to begin with. I ran over catching her scent in the air that led to the hilly area in the mountain.
As I jumped over and landed in a clearing, with her scent was strong, relief flooded through me, mingling with the residual worry that still clung to my thoughts.
As our gazes met, I could see the concern in her eyes when she turned to look at me.
But I froze the moment our eyes met.
WOAH
My heart fluttered at the view that was beheld in front of me.
WOW!
I was awestruck,
She wasn't in her human form, she had shifted into her wolf too and as she saw me approach her, she turned to face me and sat down with her eyes on me.
Unsure what to say or do, she just kept looking at me and I kept looking at her.
Then out of nowhere, she talked to me in my mind.
"Hi," She smiled at me, making my eyes grow wide and my brain blow up
WOAH!!!!
Her voice was divine. OH! MY! GOD!!! She sounded so soft and cute!!!!!
"Hi..." My voice got a little weak, "I mean, Hi!" I returned the gesture as we linked our minds to speak but I was getting awfully nervous here.
It didn't even cross my mind that we could talk to each other if we shifted into our wolves.
But, OH! Am I blessed to have gotten the opportunity to explore this?
HELL YEA!!!
