Chapter 66 Still Want to Compete with Him for People?

Chapter 66 Still Want to Compete with Him for People?

Niamh didn't take Jeremy seriously at all.

She sneered and said, "So what? What are you going to do about it?"

Jeremy had just one simple response: "Apologize!"

Everyone who had misunderstood Amelia's identity had already apologized to her.

Only Niamh, the instigator of it all, showed not a trace of remorse.

If she hadn't stirred up trouble in the middle, everyone would have believed Amelia's identity from the start.

Niamh laughed at that.

"You think you can make me apologize? Besides, what did I do wrong? Didn't everyone else doubt that Amelia was Taylor at first too? Now that the truth is clear, the matter is over. As for you, you're not qualified to demand an apology from me! Get lost before I lose my temper!"

Jeremy frowned.

He had never seen such a shameless woman.

She did something wrong and refused to apologize, acting all self-righteous instead.

Was she really this shameless?

Just as Jeremy was about to speak, a low, cold voice came from behind him.

"If he's not qualified to make you apologize, what about me?"

Jeremy instinctively turned around to see Samuel staring at Niamh with a gloomy expression, his face covered with a layer of icy frost.

Niamh also looked toward the voice.

Seeing Samuel's ice-cold face, the color drained from her face instantly, and cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

Samuel.

This was her first chance to be this close to him, but it was completely different from what she had imagined.

Up close, Samuel was no longer the man who made her heart flutter, but one who made her tremble with fear.

Because Samuel's gaze was too cold!

She instinctively swallowed, her voice trembling slightly.

"Mr. Crawford."

Once upon a time, she had dreamed of having a chance to speak with Samuel, but now that she actually could, she was too scared to even form a complete sentence.

Samuel walked forward a few steps and stopped about 2 feet away from Niamh.

"I'm asking you—if he's not qualified to make you apologize, am I qualified?"

Being questioned like this by her dream man, Niamh completely lost her composure.

Especially since Samuel was speaking up for Amelia, whom she looked down on.

The fear in her heart was slowly replaced by anger.

She couldn't help saying, "Mr. Crawford, I admit I was a bit direct in what I said, but—"

Samuel didn't want to hear her excuses.

"I'm giving you two choices. One, you apologize yourself. Two, I have my people hold you down while you apologize to Amelia!"

Niamh's face turned ugly, quickly becoming pale as paper.

She forced herself to say, "Mr. Crawford may not know who I am. I'm the heir to the Armstrong Group. I heard that the Crawford Group has been interested in collaborating with us on a project recently?"

Samuel's lips curved slightly, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.

"So you're from the Armstrong family. Go back and tell your parents that our collaboration ends here."

Niamh's heart jumped.

Samuel would go this far for Amelia?

With family business at stake, Niamh could no longer care about her dignity. Biting her lip, she said, "I'm willing to apologize. Please show mercy, Mr. Crawford."

Samuel didn't say much, just tilted his chin toward Amelia's direction.

Meaning she could go apologize now.

Niamh breathed a sigh of relief.

No matter how important her pride was, it wasn't more important than the family business.

She steeled herself and walked toward Amelia under Samuel's icy gaze.

Amelia was tired of dealing with all these people rushing to apologize to her. Seeing Niamh approach, she instinctively frowned.

"What else do you want?"

The impatience in her eyes nearly drove Niamh crazy.

But she had no choice. She could only grit her teeth and say, "I misunderstood you earlier. I apologize. I'm sorry!"

Amelia raised her eyebrows, quite surprised.

Niamh would actually apologize to her voluntarily?

How unusual.

Just then, her peripheral vision caught Samuel's gaze.

She understood.

"I don't need your apology. I just need Ms. Armstrong to stay away from me from now on. I don't want to see you."

Niamh's face became extremely ugly.

She had already apologized, yet Amelia wouldn't give her any respect!

Just as she was about to lose her temper, she suddenly felt a chill down her back.

Her instinct told her Samuel was still watching her.

She took a deep breath, suppressed her anger, and said, "I understand. I misunderstood you before. I'll leave now."

With that, she didn't dare stay any longer and left the Luminance Art Gallery.

However much she had looked forward to coming, that's how embarrassed she was leaving.

After Niamh left, Samuel had York disperse the crowd before walking up to Amelia.

"I didn't expect that Ms. Richardson, besides being the famous Miracle Physician, is also the nationally renowned painter Taylor?"

"What are you trying to say?"

"I'm saying Ms. Richardson really surprises me. I just wonder what other surprises you have that I don't know about?"

Amelia pursed her lips. "There's plenty you don't know."

"Is that so?" Samuel smiled faintly. "Then I look forward to slowly discovering Ms. Richardson's 'surprises.'"

"No need to look forward to it. Once I've repaid my debt to you, there won't be any connection between us."

Samuel didn't like hearing that.

He changed the subject. "I understand you prefer to keep a low profile. I've already told those people that everyone who attended the exhibition today won't reveal to the outside world that you're Taylor."

Amelia felt relieved but also a bit awkward.

Because this meant she owed Samuel another favor.

Samuel probably guessed what she was thinking and said, "Don't worry, Ms. Richardson. I won't let you finish repaying your debt to me."

Amelia frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Nothing much. The exhibition is about to officially start. Come on, it's time to fulfill your duty as my date. The guests I invited all want to meet my companion."

As he spoke, he raised his right arm, indicating for her to take it.

Amelia simply ignored him.

She had no interest in being involved with someone who already had a girlfriend, much less having unnecessary physical contact with him.

She ignored Samuel's arm and simply stood at his side.

Samuel didn't force her and led her toward the conference hall.

Geraldo and Brandon instinctively started to follow.

Samuel noticed and glanced sideways at Jeremy.

Having his lines stolen earlier, did Jeremy want to steal his people now too?

Jeremy understood and stopped the two of them.

"Gentlemen, please wait. The exhibition is about to officially start. Please come with me to prepare for the oil painting competition."

Geraldo had no mind for the competition.

He said urgently, "The competition is pretty much ready. Let me talk to my teacher first."

It was so hard to see her, and he had so many questions he wanted to ask.

Brandon was better at reading the room.

Since Samuel personally took Taylor away, how would he dare snatch food from a tiger's mouth?

So he quickly grabbed Geraldo, who was about to chase after them, and said, "Geraldo, Taylor won't be leaving anytime soon. Let's handle business first. I still want to discuss the final judging plan for the competition with you."

Without waiting for Geraldo's agreement, he pulled him toward the private room behind the main exhibition hall.

Meanwhile, Yasmin, who had gone to the restroom to touch up her makeup, also returned to the main exhibition hall.
