Chapter 273 I Do
At first, Amelia wanted to make this whole thing as big a deal as possible.
But after she calmed down, she changed her mind.
If this blew up, Samuel's reputation would be ruined too.
Scarlett had drugged Samuel with an aphrodisiac. Amelia knew whether anything had actually happened between them or not, she couldn't stop people's imaginations from running wild.
People love gossiping about these kinds of scandals.
She didn't want Samuel linked to Scarlett in any way.
So, as long as they showed a tough attitude and put pressure on The Lewis Family, The Lewis Family would naturally punish Scarlett severely.
The punishment methods of prominent families wouldn't be any easier than going to prison.
Samuel still disagreed.
He didn't mind being disgusted himself, but what really got to him was that Scarlett had originally planned to set up Amelia.
That, he couldn't tolerate.
Amelia had to change her approach.
"I'm jealous. I don't want your name and her name being talked about together."
Samuel was a sucker for this, and sure enough, he listened to her.
As they talked, Samuel felt like he'd mostly recovered his strength.
But his body was getting hotter for some reason.
His eyes kept drifting to Amelia's lips.
She was truly beautiful, inheriting Quinton's high nose bridge and also the best features from Natalie.
With the heat in Samuel's body and Amelia by his side, his thoughts started wandering.
This feeling was familiar to him.
He'd experienced it a year ago.
At Crystal Springs Resort.
But he tried hard to hold back, without letting Amelia notice anything.
He'd hurt her once and didn't want to do that again.
So Samuel deliberately sent her away, saying, "I want to sleep for a bit. Can you go check on how Jeremy and the others are handling things?"
Amelia said, "Jeremy is very thorough. I don't need to check. He'll handle it well. Plus Finn is involved too, so we can rest easy. They can handle it themselves."
"Then go check on your parents. We've been gone so long, they'll be worried."
Amelia sensed something was off with Samuel.
"You're deliberately trying to get rid of me?"
Samuel immediately shook his head, "No."
"Don't lie. I don't like it when you lie to me."
Samuel's eyes darkened.
He bit down hard on his back teeth, as if struggling.
Amelia simply grabbed his hand and said, "Even if you don't say it, I can guess. The drug in your body—I forced out part of it, but some still remains."
She knew the remaining portion wouldn't be enough to consume Samuel's rationality.
But bodily instincts were beyond control.
She'd used all her strength to help clear the drug from his system, but this particular drug was special and didn't metabolize easily.
Being able to force out part of it was already beyond what ordinary doctors could do.
"You're uncomfortable, aren't you?" Amelia looked directly into his eyes and asked.
Samuel's Adam's apple bobbed heavily.
He tried hard to hold back, but still couldn't hide it from her.
"I'm sorry."
He said, "I didn't mean to lie to you. Don't be angry, and don't worry about me. I'll take a cold shower and that should help."
"It won't work." Amelia said, "If a cold shower was really that effective, you wouldn't have had that one-night stand with me a year ago."
She paused, then said very seriously, "If you can't hold back, I'm willing."
Samuel's eyes suddenly became intensely heated.
"Amelia, are you really willing?"
He could sense that before this, Amelia had been somewhat resistant to this kind of thing, so he'd always held back and never crossed the line.
"Yes."
Amelia nodded seriously.
She'd actually been willing for a while now, just couldn't get past the barrier of traditional thinking.
And today, Scarlett had accidentally pushed her forward, pushed her past that barrier.
"I'm willing." She repeated, looking into Samuel's eyes and saying, "Let me help you detoxify, okay?"
Samuel clenched his fists tightly, as if struggling.
"I want to give you a good memory, not like today."
Amelia said, "As long as it's with you, it's a good memory."
Samuel's breathing hitched, and the next second, he suddenly reached out and pulled her into a tight embrace.
He worked out regularly, his arms strong and powerful, wrapping Amelia in his arms, then kissing her forcefully.
Both of them had gained experience with kissing.
Samuel quickly kissed her until her whole body felt hot and tingly.
She felt like she was flying in the clouds, dizzy and lightheaded, without any sense of being grounded.
Both their breathing quickened.
Samuel said, "Let's take a shower."
Amelia felt a bit embarrassed, but still nodded.
He locked the door, then carried her to the bathroom.
Steam filled the bathroom, and the two of them seemed to be in a fairyland.
Amelia bit her lip and took off all her clothes herself.
Samuel carefully helped her wash.
When he touched her intimate areas, Amelia's body trembled slightly.
Soon, they finished showering, and Samuel carried her back to the bed.
"Are you really sure?" His forehead pressed against the tip of her nose.
"Stop asking, turn off the lights!"
Samuel smiled brightly, turned off the lights, and kissed her lips again.
This time, it wasn't just a taste.
Moonlight seeped through the window cracks, illuminating Amelia's body even more delicately.
She felt Samuel's heavy breathing mixed with the scent of alcohol.
Her breathing gradually became heavier too, but also a bit rushed.
Samuel's whole body was burning hot, his palms like balls of fire, wandering over her body.
The white bathrobe scattered on the bed, both of them breaking into a light sweat.
Samuel's heart was urgent, but his movements were patient.
He was gradually helping her relax.
Amelia's body soon became like a pool of water.
The bathrobe beneath her had long since twisted into a contorted shape.
Samuel leaned over her, like a wolf about to devour a lamb.
Amelia soon felt a slight pain below.
This pain was unfamiliar, yet vaguely familiar.
Fortunately, it wasn't unbearable.
Samuel's palms were placed on either side of her face, like invisible waves pushing against her in surges, making her let out out soft, broken whimpers.
Soon, Samuel couldn't control himself either.
The waves grew stronger and stronger, finally turning into endless tenderness.
"Amelia, I love you!"
He let out a low roar, his whole body becoming somewhat rigid.
Moments later, all was quiet.
He held Amelia, kissed her flushed cheeks, then got up to clean himself in the bathroom.
After washing, he brought a hot towel and wiped Amelia's skin clean inch by inch.
Amelia was a bit embarrassed at first, but later just let him do as he pleased.
She didn't want to move at all.
After Samuel finished cleaning her, he returned to bed himself.
He gazed quietly at her, his eyes tender and lingering.
His Amelia now completely belonged to him.
The moonlight seemed to be boiled into thick syrup, slowly flowing through the long hours.
All night, there was no movement outside.
Not even anyone knocking on the door.
Amelia had wanted to force herself to get up and go downstairs to see what was happening with Quinton and Natalie, but while her mind struggled to get up, her body couldn't move at all.
She was too tired.
Her whole body felt like it had been run over by something heavy.
In a daze, she seemed to hear fireworks bursting, and then felt Samuel seem to get up.
She wanted to lift her eyelids to look, but they were frighteningly heavy.
Gradually, she stopped struggling, let her thoughts drift, and soon fell into a deep sleep.
...
When she opened her eyes again, it was already the next day.
Amelia was woken by the sound of firecrackers.
She jolted awake and opened her eyes.
Beside her, Samuel lay quietly, and her head was resting on Samuel's arm, her whole body almost completely curled up in Samuel's embrace.
Like a movie playing in her mind, scenes from last night replayed clearly.
Her cheeks felt like they'd been burned by something, hot and stinging.
Suddenly Samuel's eyelids moved.
Amelia didn't know why, but nervously closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.
She thought what she was doing was a bit ridiculous, but since she'd already started pretending to sleep, she could only keep it up.
Who knew Samuel would suddenly chuckle and ask her, "Why are you still lazing in bed when you're awake?"
He cleverly called her pretend sleeping "lazing in bed."
Amelia immediately took the out, opened her eyes, put on an expression like she'd just woken up, and said, "I'm still a bit sleepy."
Samuel didn't expose Amelia's shyness.
He said, "I'll go wash up first, then tell you about what happened after you fell asleep."
Amelia's eyelid twitched as she asked, "What else happened after I fell asleep?"
"I'll wash my face first, then tell you in a bit."
Amelia nodded.
While Samuel went to wash his face, she quickly put her clothes back on.
When Samuel came out of the bathroom, Amelia was already fully dressed.
When her eyes met Samuel's face, her cheeks flushed slightly, whether from heat or something else.
"I'm going to wash my face too."
She said this and dove into the bathroom.
Standing at the sink, she stared at her face, rosy and red like a cherry.
She silently cursed herself for being useless, washed her face with cold water, and the heat on her face slowly faded.
When she came out again, Samuel had already ordered breakfast.
The server had placed the breakfast on a small cart and wheeled it into the living room.
"Come eat breakfast. It might not suit your taste, but eat something for now, then we can eat outside."
"Okay."
Amelia tried to keep her expression natural as she sat down across from Samuel.
Fortunately, Samuel was very aware of her embarrassment and nervousness.
He brought up what he hadn't finished saying earlier.
"Last night after you fell asleep, I went downstairs and explained the situation to your parents."
Amelia glanced at him.
Samuel smiled and said, "I plan to get our marriage certificate as soon as the holiday is over."
She knew Samuel was saying this to put her at ease, to tell her he wasn't an irresponsible person.
"What did you tell them?"
Samuel said, "The truth."
Amelia's face heated up again.
"What did they say? Besides them, who else knows?"
Samuel answered each question.
"Only your parents know. They were very understanding, but hope we can get married soon."
Amelia nodded.
Samuel continued, "From The Lewis Family's side, Anthony came to thank me personally. They waited in the lobby until midnight before they saw me."
After a pause, he said, "The Lewis Family found a husband for Scarlett—an assistant to Scarlett's father. They'll marry after the New Year, then go abroad together and never come back."
