Chapter 181 You Are Following Me?
The newcomer had silver-dyed hair, two diamond studs in his ear cartilage, and a full punk outfit.
It took Amelia two seconds to recognize him.
It was Orval from Aurora Media.
Last time, when Lucas was shooting a public service ad, it was his bad idea to have Lucas dress in women's clothing.
It was also because of his name that Amelia changed her entertainment company from Montes Summit Studio to Aurevia Studio.
Because she thought it was unlucky.
Amelia glanced at Maeve and saw that after a moment of surprise, Maeve showed a disgusted expression. She felt slightly relieved.
Orval also recognized Amelia, his expression uncertain.
"How did you know I was here? Are you following me?" Maeve said coldly.
"No, no..."
Orval snapped back to reality and couldn't care about Amelia anymore. He hurried to explain: "I'm also here for dinner. It's just that when I came in, I happened to see your car parked outside, so I asked the waiter which room you were in..."
Maeve was very impatient.
"I'm entertaining my friend. Whatever it is, we'll talk about it later."
How could Orval accept that?
He had finally tracked Maeve down here.
"Ms. Sullivan, please consider it. I'm really sincere about joining..."
Maeve cut him off directly and said to her bodyguard.
"What am I paying you for? Throw him out!"
"Yes! Ms. Sullivan!"
Soon, Orval was dragged out.
Just as Amelia was about to ask what was going on, Maeve spoke up for herself.
"This guy has problems. He's clearly a popular artist at Aurora Media, but lately he keeps asking me for help. He wants to jump ship to Aurevia Studio."
Amelia's eyelid twitched slightly.
She asked: "Do you know people at Aurevia Studio?"
"An executive at Aurevia Studio is a good friend of mine."
She continued: "His information network is pretty good. But I feel his intentions aren't right. I didn't dare introduce him, afraid of causing trouble for my good friend."
After a moment of silence, Amelia said, "Could you do me a favor and introduce him to Aurevia Studio?"
Maeve looked at her in surprise.
"You know Orval?"
Amelia said: "My brother used to be his colleague, also at Aurora Media. Now he's also gone to Aurevia Studio."
"I remember now, his name is Lucas, right? He's pretty popular lately, but currently, he just has fans without any signature work. If he had a good project, he could become the next top star."
Amelia thanked her, then said, "Please help me introduce him to Aurevia Studio."
"What... exactly do you mean?"
Amelia didn't hide anything and said directly: "He has a grudge against my brother. Going to Aurevia Studio, someone must be coaching him from behind, wanting to use him to go after my brother."
"And you still want to let him have his way?"
"I'm actually not good at planning strategies, but I'm good at breaking them. First, see what he plans to do, then break it down piece by piece."
"I don't get you. But since you're asking me so sincerely, I'll reluctantly help you."
Amelia nodded with a smile: "Then thank you in advance."
After settling this matter, the two picked up their utensils again.
Someone knocked on the door again.
"Ms. Sullivan, someone is looking for Ms. Richardson..."
Maeve was about to speak when Amelia's familiar voice came from outside.
"Ms. Richardson, it's me, Jeremy."
Maeve glanced at her, and when Amelia nodded, she said, "Let him in."
The door was pulled open again.
What surprised Amelia was that Jeremy didn't come empty-handed - he was carrying a tray.
"Jeremy, what's this...?"
Jeremy first greeted them both, then spoke: "Today, Mr. Crawford also happens to be here for a dinner meeting. He doesn't like this restaurant's food, so he had me prepare other dishes. Mr. Crawford remembered that you were also here today, so he had me send a portion over."
After a pause, he asked Amelia: "Were the dishes sent over earlier not to your taste?"
Amelia shook her head and said somewhat awkwardly, "I didn't know who sent them. There was that incident before with Efrain sending wine. So to be safe, I had them refuse it."
"I see. Then I'll leave these dishes here?"
Amelia nodded.
"Thank you, Jeremy."
Jeremy didn't dare take credit, saying: "I'm just following Mr. Crawford's instructions."
"Then please thank him for me too."
Jeremy smiled this time.
"Yes, Ms. Richardson. I won't disturb you two any longer. Goodbye."
The two watched Jeremy leave.
As soon as the door closed, Maeve tried a bite of the food Jeremy brought.
"All Seasons Table's food. He's really willing to spend money."
Amelia smiled: "All Seasons Table's food is quite expensive."
"It's not about the price of the food."
"Then what is it?"
Maeve said meaningfully, "Think about it, how far is All Seasons Table from here? The food is still hot when it arrives. Either he brought All Seasons Table's chef over directly, or he put a lot of effort into preserving the food on the way."
Amelia was stumped and realized it, too.
All Seasons Table was near the airport, an hour and a half drive from downtown.
And the food clearly wasn't reheated.
Reheated food wouldn't have this color.
Maeve smiled lightly and said, "I don't believe certain people are really just doing this for their own taste. Otherwise, if he doesn't like this restaurant, he could just not come here to eat."
Amelia picked up a piece of steak and stuffed it in Maeve's mouth.
"Can't even food shut you up?"
Maeve laughed and ate it.
After they finished eating, they discussed some details.
Like how to break up with Isaac in a way that would provoke him and his mother more.
They had to "go crazy" for Amelia to proceed smoothly to the next step.
Amelia said, "You might be in a bit of danger then. But don't worry, I'll definitely ensure your safety."
Maeve nodded.
When parting, Maeve hesitated for a moment, then said: "Amelia, since we're already friends, let me give you a friendly warning - be careful of my brother."
Amelia was a bit surprised, but then smiled.
"Looks like you care more about me, your new friend."
Maeve rolled her eyes.
"If I could, I really wish he weren't my brother."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing. I'm leaving, you should head back early too."
Amelia had driven herself, so Maeve didn't offer to give her a ride.
Amelia nodded and watched Maeve's car leave before going to where she had parked.
But there was a van parked behind her car, and cars on both sides too, completely blocking her car in.
Amelia had no choice but to call to have the car moved.
Fortunately, the other car had a contact number displayed.
She dialed the number shown, but the phone rang behind her.
She jumped, quickly turned around, and met Samuel's particularly deep eyes.
Amelia's startled heart slowly calmed down.
"The food you sent over was delicious. Thank you."
Samuel stepped forward two steps and suddenly grabbed her hand.
Amelia was surprised and instinctively tried to pull her hand back.
Samuel spoke at that moment: "I made the food myself. Look, with these hands. I accidentally cut myself while chopping vegetables. It hurts. Can you check if it might get infected?"
Amelia was very surprised.
Besides being surprised that Samuel had made those dishes himself, she was also surprised that his hand was injured from cooking. Looking down, she was even more surprised.
It was a very, very shallow cut.
Because it was almost healed, if you didn't look carefully, you could barely tell where the injury was.
Amelia slowly raised her head and met Samuel's eyes again.
"I think your shamelessness has gotten even worse than before."
Samuel smiled brazenly.
"Being shameless is how I can have a wife."
Amelia didn't respond to that and pulled her hand back from his large palm.
But Samuel moved even closer, saying, "Won't you treat my hand for me?"
"Don't worry, this wound will heal on its own soon enough. It won't get infected."
Samuel smiled eagerly and said, "Could you tell the food was made by me?"
Amelia shook her head.
"I really couldn't tell. It tasted exactly like All Seasons Table's."
Samuel said, "I learned from their chef."
"Yosef really trusts you - letting you learn from the chef like that. He's not worried about you stealing trade secrets at all."
"He knows I'm too lazy to make this kind of small money. I only learned to please you. What's there to be afraid of?"
The midday sunlight was lovely, and Amelia's heart felt warm.
"Was it good?" Samuel asked.
Amelia nodded, her face flushing.
But she wasn't good at showing shyness. Even though her face felt like it was burning, her expression remained blank.
She even changed the subject.
"Is this your car? Since you're here now, can you move it?"
Samuel said, "On my way over, I accidentally dropped my car keys in the fish pond. Can't move it. But I can drive Jeremy's car and take you home."
"Your shamelessness is really getting worse and worse."
"Actually, I've trained the dog really well. I wanted you to come see. Check my work."
"It's been less than a week. What could you possibly have trained?"
"You'll know when you see."
Amelia didn't have anything else to do today, and considering those dishes, she agreed.
Then she saw Samuel pull out the car keys that had supposedly fallen in the fish pond and open the passenger door for her.
"Please get in, Ms. Richardson."
Amelia looked speechless.
He didn't even try to hide his lie.
But she still got in the car.
"What about my car?" she asked.
Samuel made a phone call.
Jeremy quickly came over and took Amelia's car keys.
"I'll drive it home for you."
Amelia nodded, and the car pulled onto the road.
On the way, Samuel didn't just make small talk - he also mentioned some business.
"These past few days, or rather, these past two weeks, an old lady has been waiting at the company entrance every day. I looked into her and found that this person has some connection to you. Guess who it is."
