Chapter 108 What Lunatic? She Is an Honored Guest!
Including Amelia, everyone looked surprised at this scene.
The next second, Randal said something shocking.
"What crazy person? This lady is Mr. Crawford's honored guest!"
Vivienne's eyes widened suddenly.
"She, she really is?"
"You useless fool! Go to HR right now, get your pay, and get lost!"
Randal was furious.
This month, this Vivienne had been using her position at the front desk to drive away so many important guests.
Anyone who was even slightly attractive and didn't have an appointment, she wouldn't ask about their identity and just kicked them out.
Just the day before yesterday, she drove away a young lady from the Lawson family.
She had come to discuss a partnership with Samuel, and Samuel was interested in working with her to build a new shopping mall.
Since they had contacted each other privately, there was no registration at the front desk.
Vivienne only needed to call Samuel's internal line to confirm, but she didn't—she just drove the person away.
The Lawson family's young lady was furious. Samuel had to send Jeremy to apologize in person, with gifts and promises, before the partnership was saved.
At the time, the company let it slide because she was young and the partnership ultimately went through smoothly.
But just two days later, she made the same mistake again.
Yesterday, he had also attended the charity exhibition at Luminance Art Gallery, so he knew very well that Amelia was Samuel's companion.
And she was a companion he had personally gone out to greet.
Of course she was an honored guest of their company.
Vivienne was thunderstruck.
"Mr. Potts, I know I was wrong. I can't lose this job. I just bought a house. Without this job, I can't make next month's mortgage payment."
Randal ignored her, so she turned to beg Amelia.
Amelia said expressionlessly, "Whether you stay or go at your company, I'm an outsider with no right to comment."
Vivienne was left speechless, full of regret.
Afraid that Vivienne would upset Amelia, Randal directly called security to drag her away, not wanting to waste another word on her.
Soon Vivienne was dragged away. Randal introduced himself to Amelia and mentioned that he had seen her yesterday at Luminance Art Gallery.
After hearing this, Amelia understood why he knew she was an "honored guest."
She nodded as a greeting.
Randal then apologized repeatedly.
"Ms. Richardson, I'm truly sorry. She's still new and doesn't understand the rules. She's been removed now. Please don't be angry."
Amelia waved her hand, indicating she wouldn't mind, but reminded him, "The front desk represents the company. Next time when hiring, Randal should have HR be more careful."
"Yes, you're absolutely right, Ms. Richardson."
And that matter was settled.
Amelia brought up her purpose for coming and asked Randal, "Can I go up to see Samuel now?"
Randal, as if not noticing that Amelia called Samuel by his first name, said with a smile, "Of course. Mr. Crawford is upstairs. I'll take you up."
"Thanks for the trouble."
"It's what I should do."
Randal was a perceptive person, so he was very warm toward Amelia.
Warm to the point of being ingratiating.
But he still felt it wasn't enough.
He thought this lady might possibly become Mrs. Crawford in the future—his judgment was rarely wrong.
Unfortunately, there wasn't much he could do, just small things like pressing the elevator button for Amelia.
But even doing this small thing was better than others who hadn't done anything yet.
Randal's own abilities weren't particularly outstanding. He'd reached his current position entirely through his keen eye for people.
However, just as the elevator door was about to close, a large hand suddenly reached out and grabbed it.
Randal was startled, but fortunately the elevator door sensed it and automatically opened, revealing Isaac's figure.
Isaac had been completely stunned earlier.
First stunned when he saw Randal slap Vivienne for Amelia's sake, then stunned again when he heard him say Amelia was Samuel's honored guest.
Later, when he finally recovered, he heard Amelia call Samuel by his first name, and Randal didn't find it strange at all, which stunned him once more.
Seeing the elevator door closing, he finally snapped out of it and desperately grabbed the door.
"You!"
He had a million questions to ask Amelia.
Ask her why she knew Samuel.
Ask her what her relationship with Samuel really was.
Ask her if she was trying to get into Samuel's bed.
But before he could speak, Randal coldly interrupted him.
"Mr. Reynolds, right? Since you accidentally injured your hand here, go back and have someone else come sign the contract."
One sentence, but loaded with meaning.
Isaac wasn't stupid—he understood what he meant.
First, he was covering for Amelia, not admitting his dislocated hand had anything to do with her.
Second, Randal didn't like him and was telling him to go back and send someone else to sign.
Isaac's face gradually turned pale, but he dared not show his anger.
Offending someone from the Crawford Group meant even Maeve couldn't help him.
Especially since he couldn't let Maeve see his face right now.
But Isaac still wanted to try, deliberately pretending not to understand, saying in a relaxed tone, "Randal, my hand is fine, and I'm already here. Having someone else come over might delay things."
"No delay. This matter isn't urgent. Mr. Reynolds' hand is more important."
With that, Randal unceremoniously pressed the door close button.
Since Randal had actively closed the elevator door, Isaac didn't dare pry it open again.
He just looked at Amelia unwillingly.
That look was as if he wanted to see right through Amelia.
Unfortunately, someone like him couldn't see through Amelia.
Isaac could only watch helplessly as the elevator door closed, feeling angry and his wrist throbbing with pain.
But he could only endure it.
Business couldn't be delayed. Isaac had no choice but to call his company.
He downplayed it, not saying he'd been snubbed, only that there had been an accident on the way and his hand was injured.
The company was angry, but hearing Isaac say his hand was broken, they said nothing more.
Isaac was Maeve's person. For Maeve's sake, they hung up and sent someone else over.
But Isaac didn't leave. Instead, he secretly hid outside the company entrance.
He wanted to wait for Amelia to come out and get answers.
In the elevator, the perceptive Randal had long since noticed the conflict between Amelia and Isaac, which was why he'd put on that show at the elevator entrance.
But he was smart and didn't mention it at all, just quietly and warmly led Amelia to Samuel's office door.
The secretary at the door wasn't there—probably temporarily handling something.
Randal didn't lead Amelia inside, just stopped at the door.
"Mr. Crawford is inside. Please go in. I'll get back to work. If you need anything, just let me know."
"Thank you."
Amelia liked dealing with smart people and nodded her thanks.
Randal smiled and said "my pleasure," then quickly turned and left.
Amelia looked at the frosted glass door, reached out, and knocked.
