Chapter 252 Kill Him Quickly
The cubicle door quickly opened.
The man standing inside had handsome, refined features, though his hair was somewhat messy and he was wearing a janitor's uniform, which made him look somewhat untidy..
"Liam." Amelia said apologetically, "I'm really sorry for making you rush over from Thornfield and then asking you to stay here."
Liam didn't mind at all.
"You saved my life." he said calmly. "We're family. There is no need for such formalities. Where's the place? Should we go now?"
Amelia said, "I'll arrange for you to stay in the room next door first, then move over when the time is right."
"Okay." Liam nodded and followed Amelia out.
The janitor walked over at this moment.
Amelia introduced him, "He's one of Samuel's people. I'll have him take you there. He knows this place better than I do."
This "janitor" was one of the two people Samuel had planted here a month ago.
He knew every corner of the building, even which walls had stains on them.
Liam agreed and left with the janitor.
Amelia removed the "Under Maintenance" sign from the bathroom door, straightened her clothes, and returned to the lobby.
There were even more guests than before.
Amelia noticed a waiter slowly walking toward the automatic doors.
He would look around cautiously after every few steps.
Amelia knew Tristan was about to start his plan. She immediately found Anna and told her, "You should leave now. I'll bring Adrian out safely."
Anna's eyes reddened.
"I... I'm worried."
Although she didn't know exactly what what was about to happen, but she knew if Amelia was urgently telling her to leave then they must be great danger coming..
She wanted to leave with Adrian.
Amelia quickly persuaded her, "Listen to me, Anna. I promise you, Adrian won't be in danger. But if you don't leave now, I might not be able to protect both of you at the same time."
Anna bit her lip but did as Amelia said and walked toward the main entrance.
Someone stopped her.
"Ma'am, the ribbon-cutting is about to start. Where are you going?"
"My son snuck out. I'm going to find him."
Her face looked anxious.
The person hesitated but still let Anna go.
The plan had just begun - they couldn't disrupt everything because of one person.
Anna left smoothly.
Amelia breathed a slight sigh of relief but didn't dare to completely relax.
Adrian still hadn't been found.
Amelia tried to send Samuel a message on her phone, only to discover there was no signal here.
She frowned slightly, knowing this was Tristan's doing.
Soon others also noticed the lack of signal.
Tristan came out, saying that some equipment in the Infinite Cube was temporarily confidential, so they had installed signal blockers. After the tour, once they confirmed no one had taken photos, they would turn off the signal blockers.
Everyone present immediately became displeased.
But Leo was there, and out of respect for The Hays family, they suppressed their displeasure.
"It's time. Let's proceed with the ribbon-cutting." Tristan said.
He didn't even ask for Leo's opinion and directly had someone bring the ribbon-cutting supplies.
Leo clenched his fists tightly in anger.
Tristan, such a lowly person - he had almost fallen into Tristan's trap!
But for now, Leo could only suppress his irritation.
The ribbon-cutting was quickly completed, and Tristan led everyone to start the tour from the second floor.
Each room here had unique high-tech designs, and many people felt much more relaxed after seeing them.
"This equipment is really good. When will it be available on the market? I want to get a set for my home."
"Who's the designer?"
"What's this AI home system called?"
Tristan answered each question.
Soon they reached the third floor.
On this floor, Tristan didn't take them to visit every room, but instead led them directly to the largest room.
The large room contained many "butler robots," each with different functions.
Just then, a waiter passing by Amelia suddenly slipped, spilling red wine all over her.
Amelia frowned. The waiter quickly apologized.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to. Let me take you to change?"
"No need," Amelia said. "I didn't bring spare clothes."
Just then, a lady said, "I brought some. I can lend them to you."
The speaker had ordinary features and, despite wearing expensive clothes, still lacked the bearing of a wealthy young lady. Amelia also noticed her hands were rough.
Undoubtedly one of Tristan's people.
Amelia nodded readily, "Then I'll trouble you to lend me your clothes temporarily."
"No need to thank me, it's just clothes."
The two were led by staff to a suite on the second floor.
"You can wait here," the woman said with a smile. "I'll have someone get the clothes from my car."
"Okay."
The woman smiled slightly, but just as she turned around, she received a heavy blow to the back of her neck.
She immediately lost consciousness.
Meanwhile, Tristan took advantage of everyone studying the butler robots to quickly approach Leo.
"Amelia is in room 206. Go ahead."
Leo showed an exaggerated greedy expression.
"I'm going! I'll leave this to you!"
With that, he hurried downstairs.
Tristan watched Leo's retreating figure with a cold smile.
As soon as Leo entered the room, the door would be locked.
Then he would take his trusted subordinates and leave, and immediately after, the entire building would be locked.
After that, the building would explode, and none of these people would survive.
When Francis had invested in this building, he used Leo's name. Even if the police investigated, they could only trace it to Leo.
And Leo, already dead in the explosion, would be unable to defend himself.
This matter would affect Leonard somewhat.
But that was fine - with so many people from The Porter family faction and the neutral faction dead, Leonard had the ability to handle it.
He just needed to wait for his subordinate downstairs to report that Leo and Amelia were locked inside, then he could leave with peace of mind.
However, he waited and waited. The guests were already asking when they could go upstairs to tour the high-tech theater, but the woman who had taken Amelia to change clothes never appeared.
What was going on?
More and more people were asking when they could visit the fourth floor - after the tour, they wanted to say goodbye to Leo and leave.
Without signal, they were getting bored.
Tristan was extremely anxious.
The theater on the fourth floor wasn't actually fully installed yet.
Due to Francis's death, the building's plan had been moved up.
However, it could barely be toured.
He called someone to take everyone to the fourth floor, while he himself found another subordinate.
"Where's Megan? Why hasn't she come up yet?"
Megan was the woman who had offered to lend Amelia clothes.
She deliberately dressed as a guest, but was actually Tristan's subordinate.
Her task was to lure Amelia to a room on the second floor, then lock the door after Leo also went in.
The door was a specially made soundproof and heavy. Even if Amelia and Leo shouted themselves hoarse, no one would hear them.
But the problem was that Leo had already gone downstairs long ago, yet Megan still hadn't come upstairs.
He felt very uneasy.
His subordinate said, "I don't know either. I've been waiting at the stairwell for Megan to come up so I could report to you."
He added, "I'll go downstairs now to check."
"Don't," Tristan said. "I'll go down myself! You go to the fourth floor and watch these guests. Don't let them cause trouble or insist on leaving early."
They had to leave before the guests did, and then activate the explosives.
Otherwise their own people would also be caught in it.
Tristan still valued his subordinates greatly.
With Francis dead, he didn't have the ability to cultivate new trusted aides. These people were important in achieving his ultimate goal.
Besides, he wasn't entirely confident letting a subordinate check.
He felt something might have gone wrong in the process that his subordinate might not be able to handle.
Soon, Tristan went downstairs.
Arriving at room 206, he found the door was actually ajar, not closed tight.
He frowned, pulled out a sharp dagger from his jacket, and slowly approached the door.
There was no sound inside, as if no one was there.
He pushed the door open suspiciously, but at that moment, a tall figure moved swiftly and kicked him inside.
Tristan fell in, and the dagger flew from his hand.
But before he could get up from the floor, a slender figure suddenly appeared at the door. She held a silver needle and jabbed it into the back of Tristan's neck.
He immediately went numb all over, his limbs powerless, and his vision gradually became blurry.
He only saw a pair of small feet walk to his head, grab his collar, and lift his head up.
"You're quite loyal to Francis. He's dead, and you're still doing his work."
Tristan saw Amelia's face clearly.
He wanted to shout, but he didn't even have the strength to move his tongue.
The next second, a familiar voice rang out.
"Quick! Kill him now!"
Tristan's eyes widened in fury as he looked toward where the voice came from.
It was Leo!
So Leo had betrayed him!
No wonder Amelia was safe and sound, no wonder something went wrong with Megan.
He had calculated everything but missed Leo.
This person he hadn't taken seriously at all had betrayed him!
Leo should have been his good move, but now he had become a bad move that ruined the entire plan.
His gaze was cold and sharp, as if he wanted to kill with his eyes.
But eyes could never kill anyone.
Amelia fearlessly met his gaze, with a hint of mockery at the corner of her mouth.
"Fool, even your master was no match for me, let alone you?"
His master?
Francis?
Francis was actually killed by her?
Tristan's eyes nearly split with rage.
But he could do nothing, and his vision gradually became blurry.
Soon, he lost all consciousness.
"Is he dead?" Leo asked excitedly. "If he's dead, will I be safe from now on?"
Amelia stood up and smiled slightly at Leo.
"Yes, you're safe forever now."
Looking at Amelia's smile, Leo's heart stirred.
Amelia was indeed beautiful.
Without the threat of death, he once again developed romantic thoughts about Amelia.
The way he looked at Amelia became greedy and passionate again.
However, before he could speak, there was a sudden pain at the back of his neck.
