Finally Mine
ALIEN KING KARN'S POV
I carried Aurora through the airlock of my giant warship.
The heavy metal doors hissed and shut behind us with a loud thud.
This spaceship was bulletproof, made and designed by my late mother, who was a great architect before she died.
She designed most of the spaceships used around space. She also designed shops for chiefs, elders, presidents and governors across the intergalactic space. Since she left, I have not found anyone as smart as her.
She developed the schools, prayer houses, altars and everything smart. She opened up the doors for intergalactic trade between aliens from space and humans in the world. She was the first woman/person to discover earth.
She also discovered that a specie called humans were living on earth and she studied them before encouraging me to move over to earth to do business.
She also helped the governers to build spaceships, she brought them our best spices and she fostered unity and happiness among humans and aliens. Up to the moment....my daughter was raped and killed.
Being the only granddaughter my mother had, she was too heartbroken and died after a week. Even her machines, her space experiments and her science could not save her. Since she died, I have been a wreckage. I have been empty and I have been unfulfilled....
Aurora's presence somehow began to give me hope. Something to live for, something to wake up and hope for...and something to die for.
'I can't believe I'm thinking this. Snap out of this, Karn!' I cautioned myself and came back to myself.
The sound of the war and the screams from the palace were gone. Now there was only the hum of the ship.
I made sure the humidity in the ship was okay enough to accommodate me and Aurora. I also made sure gravity levels were okay.
I felt her heart beating fast against my chest. She was shaking, her small hands clutching at nothing. I walked deep into the ship, past my soldiers who bowed their heads as I passed. I took her to my private room and threw her onto the bed furs.
"Stay here," I growled.
I wanted to stay with her. I wanted to feel her skin and make her forget the Crab King. But I felt a pull in my gut. Something was wrong. I left the room and locked the door behind me. I ran to the bridge of the ship. My pilots were shouting. The red lights were flashing.
"What is it?" I roared.
"A ship is coming fast, My King!" the pilot yelled. "It is the Crab King. He did not die in the palace!"
"Fuck, fuck!!"
"He has released his biggest space ship and it's shotting arrows and bombs towards us. It seems he somehow studied your technology and has created something that can destroy it. He had been hiding this one machine and waiting for the best time to bring it out. And that best time....is now. We have to do something King Karn," the pilot informed.
I sat in a big chair next to the pilot and looked at the screens. The cameras showed a gold ship covered in sharp spikes. It was Kraye.
He was flying like a madman, shooting blue lasers at my hull. The whole ship shook. I could see him on the high-tech screen. His face was covered in blue blood. He looked like a ghost. He was screaming at his controls. He was fighting dirty, throwing out space mines that looked like black spiked balls.
"He is trying to blow us up!" the pilot screamed as a mine hit our side. "He wants to kill us. See the look on his face. He is out for blood!!"
"Give me the controls!" I shouted. I pushed him away. I grabbed the steering handles. My ship was full of the best technology. I could see the heat of his engines. I could see where his shields were thin.
Kraye was not trying to win a fair fight. He was trying to crash into me. He wanted us both to die in the dark. I moved the ship fast, spinning through the stars to miss the mines. I pushed a button and fired my big green cannons. The light hit his ship and tore off a wing. But he kept coming. He fired a big metal spear with a cable. It slammed into my ship. He was trying to pull us together so he could jump onto my ship and kill me.
"He is trying to board us!" the soldiers yelled.
"Let him try," I hissed.
I used the ship's computer to send a massive shock down the metal cable. I watched the screen as Kraye’s ship turned dark. His lights went out. His engines stopped. He was trapped in a dead box of metal. I looked at the camera. He was banging his fists on the glass, gasping for air. I took my cannons and shot the cable, cutting him loose. I watched his gold ship float away into the black void. He would stay there, cold and alone, until his air ran out.
"It is over," I said.
I stood up and walked back to my bedroom. I opened the door. Aurora was on the floor, hiding her face. The ripped white wedding dress was all over the floor like trash. I picked her up and put her back on the bed. I sat next to her and wiped her tears with my thumb.
"The thief is gone," I told her. "He is floating in the dark. He can never touch you again."
"You are so mean," she whispered.
"I am a King," I said. "And I protect what is mine. We are going home now. I have built a world for you, Aurora. You will see."
I lay down next to her. I watched the stars go by through the window. I had beaten him in the palace and I had beaten him in space. Now, she was finally mine.
