Chapter 293 : Who Has The Evidence?
Chapter 293 : Who Has The Evidence?
Screenshots and photos spread across the internet at lightning speed. Her opening statement went viral almost immediately.
Tens of thousands of viewers poured into the livestream. The chat was filled with insults, accusations, and endless abuse.
Allison didn't react at all.
When the viewer count climbed into six figures, Allison finally spoke again.
"Let's be honest. None of you has the courage to come into this livestream and say it to my face. If you have proof that I cheated, show it. Right now."
The comments immediately exploded.
Messages flew past so quickly they were almost impossible to read.
"This girl has a death wish!"
"What, is she planning to fight the entire internet through a camera?"
"Two minutes already. Where's the whistleblower? Who has the evidence?"
"Come on, somebody join the stream. I'm here for the drama."
As the seconds ticked by, more and more people focused their attention on the countdown.
Meanwhile, Allison sat in front of the camera, looking completely calm. Her expression remained unchanged as she waited for her accusers to speak.
“This is boring. I'm leaving. Somebody tag me if something actually happens."
A countdown timer sat in front of Allison. During those five minutes, hundreds of viewers requested to join the livestream. But every single one of them came just to cause trouble, throw insults, or make a spectacle of themselves.
Surprisingly, the original accuser wasn't among them.
When the five-minute timer reached zero, Allison stopped accepting requests.
Then she lifted her eyes and looked straight into the camera.
"You've all seen it for yourselves. There were plenty of requests, but every single one came from someone looking for attention. I know most of you are here because you want answers. Did I cheat on the SAT? If I did, how did I do it? And who was backing me?"
Allison looked calm, but the atmosphere in the comment section began to change. The viewers who genuinely wanted the truth started pushing back against the trolls.
At the end of the day, everyone wanted to know what was really going on.
Allison continued, "My time is valuable, and I'm sure yours is too. So instead of wasting it, I'm going to give you something more direct."
"Something better."
"I have to admit, she's pretty bold."
"Enough talking. Just show us already!"
"She's dragging this out. Bet she didn't get into med school and is trying to get famous off the controversy."
"I don't even care what she's planning anymore. I'm invested now. I need to see how she's going to turn this around."
"Seriously though, does anyone actually know who this girl is? What's her background?"
When Allison saw that comment, a faint smile finally appeared on her lips.
At last, someone had asked the right question.
Her new identity had been hidden perfectly. She had covered every trace of her past. No one knew who she really was, not even Ruth. There were no birth records, no family ties, and no digital footprint left behind.
Even the people who had known her before only knew the identity that Sherrie had stolen.
And that identity meant nothing now.
So Allison leaned toward the microphone and said, "Miss Allison, graduate student at Central General Hospital and former SAT examinee from Kansas. I know you're watching this livestream."
"Would you like to come online and talk to me directly?"
The comment section exploded instantly.
Who was she talking about?
What's the connection?
What kind of confrontation was this supposed to be?
Sherrie was indeed watching the livestream. So were Nigel, Ruth, and Toby.
The moment Allison called her out by name, goosebumps spread across Sherrie's skin. She immediately backed out of the stream.
Nigel, meanwhile, was furious. He and Ruth had been doing everything they could to detach themselves from Allison, yet here she was, pulling them back into the spotlight in front of tens of thousands of live viewers.
Was she trying to drag them down with her, too?
Furious, Nigel jumped into the livestream's comment section using a burner account. "Your cheating finally got exposed, huh, and now you're trying to doxx innocent people? You should be ashamed of yourself."
Allison had been waiting for this moment.
When Nigel's comment appeared, she took a screenshot and pinned it in the corner of the livestream.
Then she looked into the camera and said, "Sir, do you have any actual proof that I cheated? If not, then what you're doing right now is public harassment."
With that, she banned the account from commenting.
Then she lifted her eyes and looked straight into the camera.
"The Rogers family. You were confident enough to file a formal report accusing me of falsifying my SAT results, yet you don't have the courage to say it live?"
The media immediately sensed there was a much bigger story behind it. Realizing a major scandal might be unfolding in real time, several outlets started digging into the identity of the "Allison" from the Rogers family.
And before long, they found her. She really was working at Central General Hospital.
Before hospital security could react, reporters had already flooded the building.
Microphones and cameras were thrust in Sherrie's face. One media outlet even connected her live to Allison's stream, hoping to capture the confrontation as it happened.
Allison smiled faintly. She knew exactly what Ruth had been trying to do. Ruth had intended to use the media to destroy her, yet somehow the spotlight had swung back on the Rogers family instead.
The press didn't care who was right or wrong. What they cared about was attention.
Sherrie was trapped, standing there in shock as countless camera lenses zoomed in on her face.
Sherrie knew that in just a few seconds, she had been seen by tens of thousands of viewers.
What scared her most was that she had no idea what Allison was about to do next.
Then Allison spoke again in a casual tone, "Miss Allison, do you know why I'm asking you to help clear my name? From what I know, you're currently enrolled in a graduate program, correct?"
Sherrie's stomach twisted. Her expression stiffened as she stared at the livestream.
Allison continued, "Then, I assume you're quite familiar with SAT-level material. So how about this? We let the audience pick a few SAT questions, and the two of us solve them together. Does that sound fair?"
Sherrie immediately shot back, "What does your cheating have to do with me? Why should I help you clear your name?"
The comment section exploded, and the atmosphere changed instantly.
This was no longer just a cheating scandal. It had turned into a public showdown.
