Chapter 199: Island Date, York's Surprise
Time flew by quickly.
It was time for Amelia and York's third date.
This time, the date was on a small island.
The island was only 15 minutes away from Shadow City.
Usually, many events were held there.
There had been a lot of activity on the island these past few days, and everyone was curious about what was going on.
Even Amelia had heard about it.
That day, when York came to pick her up, she finally understood that all the commotion on the island was prepared for her.
As they boarded the boat, Amelia looked at York beside her and said, "Making such a big deal out of it?"
But York just smiled slightly and said, "It's not just the two of us."
This made Amelia even more curious.
They boarded the boat at dusk, with the sunset red as blood. Fifteen minutes later, they stepped onto the island.
After walking a few steps and turning a corner, Amelia saw the scene before her and was amazed.
The entire street ahead looked like something from a dream.
It was full of exotic charm, mixed with strange colorful sparkling gems along the street, exotic burning incense, and even more things that seemed like magic.
The two had just reached the entrance when Amelia was drawn to something.
A man wearing a magician's robe reached into thin air, and suddenly a ring appeared in his hand. With a flick, the ring turned into a bunch of balloons.
Amelia kept watching him, trying to figure out how he did it.
But he had already bowed slightly and handed the balloon string to Amelia.
Amelia looked at York beside her, but she found that while she was distracted, York had disappeared.
While she was in a daze, the bunch of balloons was already pushed into her hand.
Nearby was the pleasant scent of burning incense, and suddenly a large mass of colorful bubbles blew out from some window.
These colorful bubbles surrounded her.
Under the orange sunset, it looked as romantic as a fairy tale.
Amelia held the bunch of balloons in one hand and reached out with the other to poke at the colorful bubbles.
When a large bubble wrapped in various small bubbles burst, a man appeared before her.
He wore a black suit with an exaggerated half-face mask.
He was also holding a top hat and wearing white gloves.
He turned the top hat upside down, and Amelia confirmed there was nothing inside.
Having caught her attention, he smiled slightly, then took something from her left shoulder and tossed it into the top hat.
The next moment, he pulled a white dove out of the top hat.
The dove flapped its wings, struggling.
Amelia was completely stunned. She had just seen that when the top hat was turned upside down, there was nothing inside.
The man placed something on her left shoulder, then released the dove.
The dove landed steadily on her left shoulder.
Amelia moved, but the white dove didn't leave, staying firmly in place.
While Amelia's attention was on the dove, a snap of fingers rang out, and Amelia turned her head.
She saw the magician looking at her with a smile.
He turned his top hat upside down and showed Amelia—still nothing inside.
Then he took something from her right shoulder again and put it into his top hat.
This time, he rummaged around in the top hat. Amelia watched curiously, wanting to see what he would pull out.
Then, as a breeze blew past and colorful bubbles floated by, he pulled out a women's half-face mask studded with various gems from the top hat.
He tossed the hat, and petals scattered from inside. He bowed slightly and extended his hand to give the half-face mask to Amelia.
Amelia hesitated briefly but still accepted it.
As she stood up straight—
Another snap of fingers, and the black area on his chest now revealed a sign.
It read—"Will you wear it for me?"
Amelia looked at the familiar handwriting.
Looking at the man with the familiar build before her, she nodded with a smile.
"Okay."
Amelia said, putting on the half-face mask studded with colorful gems.
The man looked at her, his eyes full of warm affection.
After seeing that Amelia had put on the gem half-face mask, the man put on his top hat, then removed the paper from his chest.
He rubbed it in his hands, and the paper suddenly burst into flames.
The bright firelight illuminated Amelia's eyes.
Then, as the flames died out, a red rose symbolizing love appeared in the man's hand.
He bowed again and handed the red rose to Amelia.
Before her were the man's smiling eyes, colorful bubbles all around, and the sound of the dove cooing in her ear.
The air was filled with the scent of burning incense.
The red rose in his hand bloomed exceptionally bright.
She seemed to have seen such a scene somewhere before?
"What's wrong?"
The man gently prompted.
Amelia smiled and pulled herself from the memory.
She reached out to accept it, looking at the red rose in her hand, still not knowing where he had conjured it from.
By now, the man had straightened up and extended his right hand.
"Dear lady, may I take you on a tour of this island?" It was York's voice.
"Sure." Amelia said, preparing to place her hand in his.
But at this moment, she had a rose in one hand and balloons in the other—she had no free hand.
At this point, his hand moved toward her hand holding the balloons.
She understood what he meant and let go of the bunch of balloons.
The balloons shot toward the sky, and he took her hand.
Their eyes met, both full of smiles.
He held her hand and led her toward the crowd on the street.
The sunset slowly fell, and the entire island began to enter the night.
York first brought her to a heavily embellished clothing store.
As soon as they arrived, someone came up to greet them.
"Ms. Martinez?" the person said with a smile, "Please come with us."
Amelia looked at York beside her and saw him nod.
Then she followed the others inside.
They changed her into a heavily embellished gem-studded gown. Combined with her gem half-face mask, the woman in the mirror looked exceptionally radiant and beautiful.
When she came out, a man in matching attire was already standing outside.
"York?" she said.
Actually, she had already recognized him.
"It's me." He smiled in response.
He opened his hand again and took hers.
He led her back onto the street.
In the short time she had been changing clothes, it had become completely dark.
Unlike the lighting before, the entire island now had various strange lights, and these lights were a mix of lamps and burning incense.
If you looked down at the island from above at this moment, you would see that all the various colored lights spelled out a name—Amelia.
